Private Half Day Tour of the Baptist Sights

Your tour begins in Amman towards the Jordan Valley to visit the baptism sight recognized by the Vatican. "Bethany Beyond the Jordan", where John preached and baptized Jesus, has long been known in the Bible and from the Byzantine and medieval texts. The site is located on the east bank of the Jordan River.

You will also get to visit the site Tell a-Kharrar and Elijah's Hill which has made stunning archaeological discoveries since the late 1990's, where the site has revealed pottery, coins and architectural remains from a 5th century Byzantine monastery.

The "private" aspect of the tour is that a driver takes you from your hotel to the site and back, and pays entry into the site. There you join one of the frequent small group tours between the visitor center and the baptism sites and Jordan River.
