Amsterdam Super Saver 2: Windmills, Delft, The Hague and Madurodam Day Trip

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Amsterdam Super Saver 2 combines two best selling tours at a discounted price. Start the morning with a tour to Zaanse Schans Windmills, Marken and Volendam before spending the afternoon in Delft, The Hague and Madurodam. If time is tight and you'd like to travel beyond Amsterdam, this full-day super saver tour gives you a delicious taste of Holland. Even better, you'll enjoy a 16% discount when you buy these tours in this way.

Zaanse Schans Windmills, Marken and Volendam Trip (Morning)
The tour firstly takes you to the famous windmills, wooden houses and old-fashioned stores of Zaanse Schans, where you will visit a wooden clog factory. Next, you'll drive to the famous fishing villages of Marken and Volendam on the Zuiderzee (now called Ijselmeer). On your way you will stop off at a cheese factory, where Dutch cheeses are still being made in the traditional way.

Delft, The Hague and Madurodam Half-Day Trip (Afternoon)
Your next destination is the picturesque town of Delft for a visit to one of the famous Delft blue potteries, Delftse Pauw. The blue-and-white pottery became famous as a 17th-century duplicate of Chinese porcelain. From Delft you will continue your journey to The Hague, former capital of the Netherlands, passing such famous sites as the Houses of Parliament, Peace Palace and the Binnenhof.

The final highlight of the day is a visit to the famous miniature town of Madurodam - Holland in a Nutshell. The canal houses of Amsterdam, the Alkmaar cheese market and parts of the Delta Works are all replicated in minute detail on a 1:25 scale. Windmills turn, ships sail through the harbor and trains travel across the city on the world's largest miniature railway.

This tour isn't actually available in the winter (Viator's mistake, I believe) but the tour company in Amsterdam was great in fitting us on another lovely tour which was wonderful.

Schedule is quite tied, no time to enjoys the beautiful village in Zaane and Market. The madurodam is quite boring, and the deft pottery tour is nothing but commercial, advertising one.

The bus was packed so it was difficult to hear what the guide was saying, the group was too big. The content was very good, but sometimes a bit rushed.

Good tour, was a big day with lots packed in. Both guides we're friendly with lots of information.Without kids being in board, the miniature Amsterdam could have been a bit shorter. A great day out with the chance to see the countryside and what Holland has to offer.

Awesome experience. a lot of useful info during the commentary for both trips. could do with a little break between both tours. Be there early to 'book' the seats you'd want!

Very fun tour, but I would recommend breaking it into two parts instead of doing both tours in one day.

This trip had some good and some bad. The windmills were nice as was Volendam, but I could have done without the ferry ride to Markeen just to see a wooden clog factory selling souvenirs. The afternoon trip was nice, but the trip to the pottery factory was unecessary. Delft itself was nice, and I would have enjoyed some more time there. The Hague was just a drive by. Madurodam was cute but would rather have spent time at the Hague and walking around there.

The tour was very good. Things were a bit hectic in Marken, but our tour guide managed to not lose any of us even in the huge crowds and parades._br/_ My only complaint was that the tour bus would not leave on the morning tour until every seat was filled. They juggled people around from bus to bus, until they began to make some people unhappy and they finally left 30 minutes late with one seat open because no one wanted it.

The morning tour was a total failure. No explanation was given by the tour guide. Too short a time given at each destination. The clog factory was insane. No demonstration of the making...just a shopping mart at Marken. There is a clog factory right at Zhaanse Haanse and we could have spent enough time there. The second half of the tour was great. Tour guide was friendly. Knowledgeable about the sites. Good time management. Enjoyed it. I would recommend others for the 2nd half of the tour and suggest to take a bus to the windmills/clog factory at Zhanse Haanse!

This was a fully packed tour. Appropriate clothing required. Dress for weather about 5 degrees cooler then the weather states, and be aware of the wind.

This is the best and value for money city tour out of 3 that we booked through viator on this holiday trip. We enjoyed and love every hour of our exciting journey to many beautiful country-side places arranged by viator. It is a full day activity full with many great places visitation that is very well organized and compacted just nice in one day. Very recommended city tour! We are very happy and satisfied. Love the rebate given by liking your FB page and your price guarantee is always real. Thanks viator! :)

Excellent trip- thoroughly enjoyable and great value for money. A busy day though, so not for the faint hearted! _br/_ Both the north and south trips provided an excellent insight into the Dutch countryside, factory tours were highly interesting, and Madurodam a delight to visit. _br/_ Only minor criticism is that the recorded commentary on the north trip sometimes did not seem to fit well with what we were seeing, and repeated a lot of the same information on the return trip to Amsterdam. _br/_ Would highly reccomend!

This was an amazing trip! I feel like it was worth the amount paid. I didn't read it anywhere, but it is actually a morning and an afternoon tour, so you go back to the station and then head off again. I would recommend it to anyone that would like to see some of the nice attractions of the Netherlands. The seating arrangements were somewhat poor, though...people would steal others seats at stops, wish they had assigned seating!!! On that note, get to the tour at least 15 min before they say to...in this case, we got there at 9:15am, sinceit says the tour starts at 9:30...we were able to choose our seats and sit on top to get a good view....the bottom of the bus can be very limiting if you would like to take pictures while enroute.

Enter your review here._br/_ I only undergo half tour, Windmills, Sanche Saands and Volendam. One of my friends lost his passport, so cannot join the tour. I asked for refund to Viator, but until now, there's no comment. The half tour was great, but the time given was very limited, so we were very rush here and there. At Volendam, the tour Leader didn't tell us where to take photo, luckily my friend who was living in Amsterdam told us the place. She also told us not to join the evening tour, Delft, Hague and Madurodam, because they were not interesting. Instead, she brought us to other places more interesting than the tour offered.

The trip to Zaanse Schans was the best part of the trip, although too little time was allowed to view the windmills. The time spent in Volendam was also far too litlle. In general, the morning part was reasonable.

A tourist trap - all they did were to take us for souvenir shopping at various locations (they probably got commissions). Absolutely no insights into culture and less time at scenic locations. At the windmills, the queues were so long that all time was spent in the queue

This was a comprehensive and well organized trip which ran to schedule and was informative. I would definitely recommend this if your time in Holland is limited as it gives a very good overview. It is however quite a long day. Unfortunaley the weather was very wet with almost continual rain so that was disappointing, although I was glad we were not sightseeing on foot in Amsterdam.

Honestly this trip is not worth the day if you are on a tight schedule. Compared to Swiss miniature at Melide, the Madurodam Park is poorly maintained and sub-standard. The Zaanse Schans trip is worthwhile if you are a windmill fan. The cheese making shop earns a quick buck by sampling their products. Nothing much about Delft other than the very expensive factory outlet. The fishing village trips are also not worth the time spent in travel. Overall a commercially driven day trip. Totally dissatisfied with this trip as we wasted a day. Could have stayed at Giethoorn for the night instead.

This tour was awful. If you like shopping at overpriced souvenir shops then this is the tour for you. The guide, although friendly didn't do any guiding except for telling us what time to meet . The guiding was done by a boring prerecorded tape that you listened to while on the bus. The cheese factory and wood shoe factory tour lasted all of 30 seconds and you were pushed off to a souvenir shop.... What a waste of a day. I wish I could get my money back.

I Enjoyed my tip to no end.It was just fantastic.A couple of the places that we stopped of at were so lovely yet we were strapped for time and had to be back on the coach which was somewhat disapointing as i would have liked to exsplore a little bit more.Apart from that it was amazing and well worth the money.I would recomend Going as it is such a lovely day out.Well done crew for making my day a very interesting and knowlagable day.I will never forget the exsperience thankyou.

Tour was over-crowded and rushed. Stops were too quick. The Hague was viewed from the bus only and was too long. More time would have been better spent at the previous stops.

well organized trip and informative guide! Loved the windmills, cheese farm tour and hague best! Such a wide array of cheese for tasting, probably have never so many types of cheeses in my life! Perfect trip to venture out of Amsterdam and see the other towns. Could have done without madurodam and delft though...would be ideal if a half day amsterdam tour was thrown in as well. Great tour for both the young and old.
