Brussels and Antwerp Day Trip from Amsterdam

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Want to get a taste of Belgium while you're in Amsterdam? You'll visit Belgium's two treasures, Antwerp and Brussels, on this full-day trip and discover beautiful architecture, centuries of history and delicious Belgian beer, waffles and chocolates!

Your first destination is beautiful Antwerp to visit the famous Market Square and cathedral. You'll have around an hour in Antwerp, the birthplace of Rubens and home of Belgium's largest Gothic church. You'll find a host of architectural wonders on every street waiting to be discovered.

You'll then take a scenic drive through the Belgian countryside to the lovely city of Brussels. You'll have approximately three hours in Brussels, touring the Royal Palace, seeing the buildings of the European Commission, the grave of the unknown soldier and, of course, the famous statue 'Manneken Pis'. You will also have time to visit a lace factory, go shopping (don't forget the Belgian chocolates!) or take a stroll around the historic town center.

Once you have spent time in Brussels and shopped for souvenirs, board the deluxe coach for your three-hour journey back to Amsterdam.

Good tour, but far too little time in Brussels.

Two beautiful cities, but a long day for little time spend in the cities.

handling is average, bus is fine, driver is experienced, tour guide is quite lazy to share her knowledge despite of her old age, service is below expectation: there is no audio mic or audio earphone used during the visit at site(s) and therefore guide's voice is only heard by ones who walk side-by-side to her only, the schedule is better to be reversed: Brussels first and follow by Antwerp, therefore it will save time on the way back without being stuck on the traffic during afternoon busy hour in Brussels. There are many sights and tourist attraction in Brussels which are not even being addressed by the tour guide. One should try the original Belgian waffle to taste its remarkable distinguished flavor. The Belgian tapestry is worth the money compared with its lace products. Beware of the price tag at the souvenir shops, there are offered variously one to another. Last but not least, nothing in the travel industry - the tour guide guiding her companion to sleep on the bus during the ride back but it was happened during our tour. Conclusion: a one day excursion to both Antwerp and Brussels is a good experience although there are still many areas which need improvement, i.e. a nice detail in providing light meal / sandwich for lunch during the tour might be very supportive for the tour companion who only have limited time to wander the cities. Trust that it does not cost much.

Simply a perfect way to escape and see beautiful Brussels and Antwerp in a day! Good food, great people, culture, and history. Oh and did I mention the chocolate, waffles, and beer!

You spend a lot of time on the bus as the drives are about 3 hours away but well worth the trip for a quick taste of Belgium. The tour doesn't allow you to eat till very late in the day though; my only criticism.

We really enjoyed this tour very much seeing 2 of of Belguim's main cities in 1 day. It might be worth implementing a tour with high speed train to brussels and then bus connections onto Antwerp, you still get to see the country side but with less travel time so more free time in the cities.

Beautiful trip. Especially wonderful, right before Christmas with all of the Christmas markets present. Not an excessive amount of time to spend in each city, but makes for a nice daytrip and a nice "tasting" of each place! Tour guide was wonderful.

Absolutely fantastic. For the price - can't beat it. Our guide, Marie or Maria, was amazing and provided interesting info throughout. And she had a great sense of humor. She guided us to the important parts of town and then we were on our own to discover. Would highly recommend this trip for a "taste" of Brussels. By the way, do not eat the waffles in Amsterdam - wait until you get to Brussels for the REAL THING. It's worth the wait.

Outstanding and loved Antwerp. Guide was very good but did not enjoy her choice for dinner (The Lobster House). Used Viator for eight tour in Amsterdam/Italy and had no problems with any of them and surprised to find so many other travelers using them.. Well done Viator.

We were late for just 10' and we did ring before hand (it was only partially our fault: got wrong instruction from the guy at the train station) and they didn't wait for us. I know that another coulple could't make it because they were late for just 5'. So guyz, doesn't matter what, be on time.

Our guide Anna was great -- very knowledgeable and provided plenty of interesting factoids. But in hindsight, our time spent in Belgium was too short to leave much of an impression -- just enough time to glimpse a few noteworthy sites and do some hurried souvenir shopping. I would only recommend this trip for vacationers who are on a tight schedule and are eager to "see" as many cities as possible. Also, the bus was a little uncomfortable (poor leg room, no toilet).

Super trip, well worth the experience. Only down side - people who don't listen when the tour guide says what time to meet at the bus to continue the trip. Caused delays which were not necessary. This trip is well worth it and would recommend it highly.

Trip was ok, tour doesn't depart Amsterdam till 10am it's a long day. I personal think there isn't enough time in Brussels but when you get there it's just lovely. I also was dispointed with the fact there was no time really to see Antwerp, most shops are shut and I gathered it was just a meal stop.

Excellent tour for the money. You will be on your own most of the time in Brussels to explore or sit in the square and enjoy a coffee or glass of wine.

Although Atomium was not listed as an intinerary stop, we did stop there on our way into Brussels. It actually was a one of the highlights for us even through we only stopped there for ten minutes.

Great trip, good way to see Brussels and Antwerp in one day. Gives you an idea of what cities look like. Of course, you would want to spend more time in the cities, but you have limited number of hours in one day :)

This daytrip was very nice! Antwerp is the first stop from Amsterdam, which is about 2 hours away! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and helpful! Antwerp was quite nice, but I preferred Brussels! A beautiful mix of old with the new!! When you are in Belgium these are a must do! Waffles, Chocolate, Fries, Mussels and buying something to do with Mannekin Pis! You will understand once you hit Brussels! Overall a beautiful day!

The trip was fine, as time was short and covering two cities in one go was a challenge. Guide (spanish guy) was good and we enjoyed the trip.

Book a tour from the comfort of home and know that everything will fall into place - thats our experience with Viator. Again we were not disappointed - comfortable first rate coaches for travel, informative guides who went out of there way to ensure the history and information was informative and interesting. The mix of guided tour and free time was excellent. Thank you Viator for taking the stress out of what tours to book while away - the web site and pre tour information is great - Value for money all the way.

An excellent day as it gave me a chance to visit Belgium despite a 2 hour delay in Antwerp due to a damaged wheel on the bus. They still gave us the same time visiting the cities they just added 2 hours to the day.

It was a really nice trip! Me and my friends loved Antwerp, probably our next travel destination. The transportation was fine and the guide provided so much information! We were lucky to be in Brussels on Boxing Day. There was a fantastic light and music show outside the Cathedral. We more than enjoyed it!

The trip was wonderful! The tour guide was fantastic! It was a long day but well worth it. The only downside was that the bus was hot. The bus was very crowded, even the jump seat was sold. I would suggest getting to the tour office early to make sure that your party can get seats together.

I had a wonderful experience! The trip was timely, scenic, and our tour guide was wonderful. She was very familiar with the area and gave us great information.
