The cruise was a pleasant distraction during torrential rain. However, it was enjoyable and the commentary (in three languages) was pretty good. The pilot also added some of her own information. A good trip.

The tour would have been better if it left on time. When u only have several hours in AMS, you expect to leave on time not an hour after supposed designated time. A lot of people were late and when we were finally taking off, the boat redocked on several occassions picking up the late people. It was a bit irritating sitting on a plane for 8 hours then sitting in a non moving boat for an additional hour waiting to leave. On a bright note, I did find it funny that the captain was sitting on a chair with wheels in a boat.

You cannot go far in an hour but what we saw was good. Anoying hearing all the languages on the commentary which spoilt it slightly. There was so much more that could of been said in a language you could understand was the only let down.

The trip was relaxing after a day of touring the city; however, found the English translation of landmarks to be a bit too late. Couldn' take any pics because of the glass. Would be much more enjoyable if the boat was equipped with defrost - had to continuously wipe mist of window to see just one side of the canal. Other tourists on opposite side didn't.

Seats were not set up for watching outside the windows. Sight explanation was in 4 languages and english (the most common tourist language) was the fourth, so when we missed all sights by the time we heard the english translation. Dutch was the first language (Why????)

Having found the departure point very easily we set sail. The tour took us out into the main shipping area and back into the main canal system where were went up and down various canals back to the start point. At first I though it would be the same sights down every canal, but the tour ensures that every canal it takes you down, there is a piece of history that makes it different from the previous or the next one. It was fascinating to see the different bridges, the reasons for different built buildings and the lock system that is in place. The boat itself was comfortable and had windows that could be opened to take photographs as you went round. I can recommend this tour to anyone who wishes to experience the canal system, yet still see what the City of Amsterdam has to offer.

I say worth doing only if part of having an I-Amsterdam card where it is one of the free perks. We paid for this before travelling along with an I-Amsterdam card not realising it was free with our I-Amsterdam card!

It was a nice, relaxing overview of Amsterdam and the commentary was quite good. The boat wasn't overfilled, but some people didn't get window seats and I can imagine that the tour wouldn't have been as good if you couldn't see outside. The toilet on the boat was disgusting if you can call it a toilet, rather than a hole.
