A visit to the Van Gogh Museum is always high on the 'must-do' list for visitors to Amsterdam. The museum contains the largest collection of paintings by Vincent van Gogh in the world, including such famous works as Sunflowers and several self-portraits. The museum allows you to track Van Gogh's creative development, and compare his paintings to works by his 19th-century contemporaries.

The Viator Hop-On Hop-Off 2 day pass was excellent value and an easy way to get around Amsterdam, though probably not the fastest. Travelling on the canals was a great way to see the buildings around the city.

Well operated hop-on, hop-off service. Day pass was very helpful to avoid the line to Van Gogh Museum in hot tourist season.

This was a great way to see all of Amsterdam with the hop-on and hop-off option. And buying the tickets for the museum ahead of time was smart, because the lines were quite long at the museum.

The Hop on Hop office by the Anne Frank house was closed at 10 .30 Mon 7th Nov so we had to go to one beside canal near Ryjks museum (this is the easiest one to find.) The canal trips are very good value and a lovely way to see the city. The Skip the Line was not available Mon 7th.The male attendants on the steps sent all those with Skip the Line tickets to the long queue ,saying they were short staffed,(there was only one lady selling tickets but 3 men chatting !!) .The Van Gogh museum is superb but there was no Skip the Line .

The ticket was worthwhile and good value. A word of warning - the Van Gogh Museum did not recognise the ticket as a 'Skip the Line' and made us queue at the entrance. Fortunately when we arrived the queue was not particularly long.

We had to start this package on 17th October because the Delft, The Hague, Madurodam tour was not booked in on 17th October. I had to pay extra to get a 24 hour ticket. We did not see all of the sights we wanted because we did not start this package until 3.00pm on 17th October. Very disappointed.

I expected to se a Viator sign as at the Tour Operator office, but I walked from one side of the station to the next only to find that most canal-bus outlets would honor my voucher. The day was rainy, so the boat's windows steamed up and we had to slide them open to see the city and get sprinkled on. We had so little time that the wait between boats was a big drain on our schedule. The Van Gogh line was short, but our voucher got us to the head of it, so that helped. We walked the rest of the day in the rain, because the waiting for boats would have taken too much time.

The canal bus was great. We thoroughly enjoyed it because it was raining that day, and we stayed on the canal until the rain passed. Van Gogh Museum wasn't busy so we really didn't need the skip the line pass.

We enjoyed taking the canal bus to view the scenic canals of Amsterdam. Its a good way to travel on your first day in Amsterdam becasue it gives you a basic orientation of the city. After the first day we found it more efficient to walk to the various sights. The canal bus is nice but alot of time can be lost transferring from the red to the green line (for example).or waiting for the next scheduled canal bus which can be 30 minutes to 1 hour._br/_ We're glad that we got tickets to the museum in advance because that allowed us to bypass the long lines of people waiting to buy tickets.

Skip the line doesn:t seem to work because the voucher you collect from the canal bus office doesn't qualify so you still have to queue up to get the actual ticket at the Van Gogh museum. Anyhow we were early so the queue wasn't too long and the canal bus was great.

Both the Museum and Hop-On Hop-Off Day Pass added greatly to our stay. Hop-on Hop-Off buses (road and canals) at all the Northern European cities are a fantastic find. Thanks for pointing us in that direction.

The wait for boats is long and the lines were packed! I almost gave up before finally getting on the boat. There are plenty other cruise lines on the canal that were not nearly as busy. I would wait till you are there and pay on the spot for the cruise line that isn't crowded that day. You can see them all from the central station location.

Great way to see the city in 12 hours! Van Gogh museum is overrated, would rather see Rijksmuseum; but happy that made it to Anne Frank house - the crowds are much smaller at the end of the day.

On a very rainy day it was nice to know that we didn't have to spend too much time in line however the Van Gogh lines are a little confusing. The Canal Bus is lovely and if you had time for only 1 thing in Amsterdam that would be the best.

Great experience! So easy to find your way around Amsterdam-the canal bus stops at central locations throughout the city. The van Gogh museum was not crowded on the day we visited, so the skip-the-line aspect was moot; however, it would be an terrific advantage on busier days.

Went smoothly. The Hop On Hop Off Canal Boat Station is right in front of the Rijk--so very convenient. No problem using E-voucher. Pleasantly suprised the boats were not crowded in July.

the weather in amsterdam was heavy rain so the skip the line at the van gogh museum was perfect there was only 6 people in front of us compared to the ordinary line of 150 meters. the canal bus was great it took us everywhere we wanted to go and kept us out of the rain for an hour while we took a tour of the city. my only moan is about the que for the boats there was no orderly line people would try and push to the front to be first on the boat to get the best seat position. but apart from this minor problem it was a great day pass.

The hop-on hop-off canal bus is the way to go in Amsterdam. It was easy and fun to see the city from the canals. Although we were told that we did not need to exchange our voucher at the Van Gogh Museum, we did end up standing in a short line to do so.

We thoroughly enjoyed the three routes that can be taken on the canal bus. The commentary was given in a multitude of languages - the captain of the boat asked which languages were spoken by those on board. Two things we learned 1) you don't skip the line at the Van Gogh Museum. You must line up with everyone else who are buying tickets so that you can redeem your voucher for an official museum ticket. Also we read the pass was good to noon the next day - not so, good for 24 hours from your validation time. Don't forget you must check your back packs at the cloakroom for security reasons.

To all fellow travelers. This trip is worth while, what I missed was to book the sightseeing tour on an open bus but we took it on location. After we finished the tour on the green line we took just a tour on the blue line and enjoyed the channels without hoping. Way to go... book it!

Skip the Line is definitely the way to go. We used our canal passes all day without any problems. Make sure that you take the form with the bar code on it to the Van Gogh Museum, they were a bit sticky with us as the lady exchanging the e-confirmation for the entry gave us the wrong copy back without the bar code. They were going to make us go out and queue but it got sorted out after a 'talk' with the Manager.
