Day 1 - Auckland to Waitomo, Rotorua

You'll be picked up from your centrally located Auckland hotel to travel to Rotorua by road via the Waitomo Glowworm Caves. Enjoy a guided tour of the Waitomo Caves and the famous Glowworm Grotto, featuring an underground boat ride. Leaving the caves, a stop will be made at The Big Apple for lunch (cost included). Your afternoon journey to Rotorua continues through the lush Waikato Plains, the Fitzgerald Glade and Mamaku Hills. On arrival in Rotorua you will be transferred to your accommodation: Sudima Hotel Lake Rotorua or similar.

Day 2 - Rotorua to Taupo

This morning you will explore Rotorua's geothermal wonderland and discover the unique culture of New Zealand's Maori people. Your Rotorua morning sightseeing tour includes admission to Te Puia, Rainbow Springs and Agrodome Sheep Show. In the afternoon you'll travel by road to Lake Taupo and on arrival you will be transferred to your accommodation: Suncourt Motor Hotel or similar.

Day 3 - Taupo to Auckland

Your morning starts with a 2.5-hour tour of Taupo including the Taupo Marina, Huka Falls, Wairakei Geothermal Power Station, the Craters of the Moon and the famous Aratiatia Rapids. In the afternoon you will depart Taupo for Auckland by road. The tour returns to your Auckland hotel at approximately 6:30pm.

Sudima Hotel Lake Rotorua is the largest hotel in Rotorua, set on the shores of Lake Rotorua. Have only clicked one star because will not accept comment without a rating but this tour was not worth even one star,_br/_ Three day tour was supposed to be finale to our holiday - having booked on half a dozen other viator tours we expected better - a real disappointment._br/_ It was not a tour - involved 9 different buses - many were service buses and there was no commentary and didn't enjoy backpackers music. Only 2 half day tours one excellent- Lake Taupo the other a quick glimpse of geysers - Sheep show etc and then deposited at hotels by 2pm with nothing to do.No meals included. Had feeling of having been 'ripped of'f' ' as knew we could have put together a better itinerary for half the price we were charged.Totally unsuitable for two mature ladies with large suitcases! Would not suit any self respecting backpacker even if they had money to throw away.

Excellent tour and so much fun we had. The bus drivers are great. Lake Taupo is an amazing place.
