Uluru (Ayers Rock) to Alice Springs One-Way Shuttle

Ayers Rock, Australia

Need a one-way coach transfer from Uluru to Alice Springs? This luxury shuttle will get you there in six hours, with plenty of sightseeing along the way.

You'll board the luxury coach early in the afternoon and travel east from Yulara via Curtin Springs and see Atila (Mt Conner) in the distance. Continuing east to Erldunda, you'll then turn north onto the famous Stuart Highway to travel to the town at the very heart of the Red Center, Alice Springs.

As you pass through the striking Outback landscapes, your driver/guide will provide an informative and entertaining commentary. You'll learn about the geological history of the region, the unique Australian desert flora and fauna, and some of the traditional customs and beliefs of the Aboriginal people who have inhabited these lands for more than 20,000 years.

You'll also see groves of desert oaks, many of which are many hundreds of years old. These intriguing trees survive this harsh climate by sinking tap roots deep into the earth, remaining dormant on the surface until water is found.

Your journey takes you past the impressive West MacDonnell Ranges, another example of this area's intriguing geological evolution. This 500-million-year-old mass of twisted quartzite stands as one of Central Australia's most dominant land forms, and is riddled with deep gorges and chasms.
Please note: This is a one-way coach transfer from Ayers Rock Resort Hotels to Alice Springs.

First coach (Outback Pioneer Hotel to transfer point) was very good. However, second coach (transfer point to Alice Springs) was very disturbing. The coach smelt extremely strongly of a fishy/ammonia smell - so strong as to make you feel nauseous. Also the coach was very dirty and unkempt. Not a pleasant experience!

The bus was very comfortable and the journey of six hours seemed to pass remarkably swiftly, even though there were only two stops. An excellent film on desert wildlife was presented during the second half of our journey which helped to while away the time. But all in all, the trip was relaxing and enabled one to take in the vastness of the desert we were travelling through.

Wonderful trip. Comfortable bus. Knowledgeable guide. TVs did not work properly - irritating. Warn people in advance to pack snacks - no food available for a long time.

A useful shuttle though very overpriced for what is it. Basically seats on a coach tour to Kings Canyon for the first third of the way. Then transferred to a coach from Kings Canyon to Alice for the rest.

It was unfortunate that we had not had a big lunch and the road house we stopped at seemed unable to provide a reasonable choice to purchase food. The transport otherwise was good.

Although our flight out from Alice Springs to Uluru was quicker and cheaper, the bus trip proved to be a memorable experience. The coach was clean uncrowded and comfortable, the driver pleasant knowledgeable and communicative. We found the trip most interesting and an easy way to see the desert at first hand

A good way to see the Outback. Both drivers were informative and helpful and in John's case downright funny. Staff at Alice Springs retrieved a lost sweater and returned it to me at the Tourist Bureau within 10 minutes. Kudos!

We chose this option as we could not hire a car. Was a straightforward way to get from Ayers Rock to Alice Springs - comfortable seats, at least one rest stop. Informative commentary along the way AND dropped off at hotel doorstep!

Excellent Service, Bus was right on time. Good commentary by bus drivers. We changed buses along the way. I left my camera on the bus and within 48 hours I had it back. Good help by girls on phone when I rang. Lovely girl in Alice Springs delivered my camera back to me on the Monday. Great Service. Would definately travel with you again.

Although this was just a shuttle trip from Uluru to Alice Springs, it was a good experience. The driver gave a good explanation on the 5 hour trip.

Overall, this is a long and boring ride. Passengers going from Ayers Rock to Alice Springs had to transfer buses about two hours into the trip. In our case this was an inconvenience but a blessing since the first bus was extremely hot and never cooled down. The rest of the passengers on the bus were going to Kings Canyon.

Great trip!! Driver was very informative and it was just nice to sit back and enjoy the sights. Wish that we could have stopped at Kings Canyon and if done again would include that in the trip. Enjoyed the one stop at the roadside cafe.

Both parts were absolutely full of info and nice impressions. Sometimes a bit difficult to understand, because I'm not a native English speaker, but after few minutes - no more problems to copy everything.

It was the cheapest way I could find from Ayers Rock to Alice Springs. There was a ton of commentary. The driver constantly talked. It would've actually been nicer without it.
