The "Lion New Zealand"was built for the 1985/86 Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race and won the infamous 1984 Sydney to Hobart . This is an opportunity to experience the exhilarating ride aboard this impressive maxi-yacht, sailing the Bay of Islands. Get involved and help trim the sails, take to the helm exert energy on the grinders or simply sit back and relax.

There is also a stop at Otehei Bay for a fresh barbecue and activities such as kayaking, snorkeling, island walks and time to enjoy the beach at this amazing location before sailing back to the shore in the afternoon.

Skipper and crew were awesome, very friendly and entertaining. Made what turned out to be an god awful day of weather into a still pleasant experience! Lunch was tasty and island beautiful. Just pity about the tail end of cyclone coming through on the day we booked!

The sail boat can hold a lot of people so you get a good variety of people to talk too. The island was nice but wish we could spend more time there. Food was decent and the dolphins were cool too!
