our tour guide was absolutely amazing! she was upbeat and informative. the wine we tasted was delicious and the vineyards were beautiful. the only thing that i was disappointed with was the amount of wine we got to taste. on other wine tastings i usually taste around 5 different wines and here we tasted only 3. not a big deal but would have liked to try more.

I had a very good experience. Both the wineries were beautiful and the owners were very personable and informative. The information on the bus was interesting the only thing I would have changed was to have a little more time after the tours to walk around and taste. We didn't have a lot of time to buy wine before we had to get back on the bus.

Very much worth while to learn about and enjoy the side of Bordeaux that is unknown but every bit as passionate. The visits to the smaller chateau are the most interesting. The last larger one was not as fascinating. A good short introduction if you want to spend a bit less time.

Very crowded large bus. Tourism Bureau publicity had said small groups. Hard to hear commentary at chateaux because of group size. Limited wine tasting but of good quality. Chateaux interesting but better to hire car I would suggest so can stop at villages.

Such a pleasant afternoon and a great feeling being entertained by the "Count" and his devoted dog!! Loved this "hands on" style of tour with the people who are doing the work participating. Love Bordeaux!!

A golden opportunity was wasted when the Vineyard gave us 2009 wine to taste and then said it was not ready for drinking. Give a decent wine and you have a captive audience. Likewise when given 2 hrs in St Emillion why not a group visit to a wine merchant, they could send wines all over the world. The guide had given us the hard sell and then it all went flat.

NOT A WINE TASTING. From where we come from this is not how a wine tour is done. Partner and I both had a terrible time overall, can find a nicer wine from the nearest supermarket for half the price.

I found it to be a very interesting afternoon trip. Everything was in perfect balance, the time at the Chateau, the Degustation and the visit to St. Emilion. The guide was superb, she was passionate about her desire to share with us the history of French wine making and her desire that we all walk away inspired that the French production of wine not only benefits the world economy but our individual health. One of my better Viator experiences.

Most interesting, especially the Sauternes visit(Ch. Gravas). The bilingual guide was outstanding......fluent in English and most informative. Good international sense of humour too...not always the case with 'les grenouilles' Would definitely go again.

Tour was okay, was actually disappointed after the high reviews. Ticketing dramas, poor English of guide let the tour down. Wine and chateau's where impressive.

August 2011
Quite disappointing. The wine tasting session of only two wines and visit to the chateau were very limited and the visit to St Emilion was too brief. Having opted to take advantage of the guided visit to the catacombs and underground church there was no time at all left to see the village.

The transportation is good, and the vine yards are good as well~ however, there should be more time for us to visit the vine yard, not just the wine factory~ overall it's worth to visit during the stay in Bordeaux~

Never having used Viator or known about them and we could not have been more pleased. I will definitely consider Viator in the future much more personal than the excursions generally offered by the cruise line. The Bordeaux tour ranked at the top on our trip.

This was my first wine tour and it was an incredible experience -the guide was knowledgeable, informative and interesting, the 2 chateaux visited were impressive and the entire trip will be remembered forever. An absolute hit, well done.

I thoroughly enjoyed the trip to St. Emilion and the chateau. My only suggestion is that the guide, who was comfortable in both French and English, speak for 2-3 minutes in each language rather than any longer as it is dull/boring waiting for her to complete her commentary in the other language. She was a very informative guide and it was a great tour.

Great! The tour guide made the trip pleasant for us! It would be far better if we could just have a little more time to experience the Chateau and Saint Emillion.

The destinations were great ie St Emilion but we were very disappoined that we had so little time to spend freely in St Emilion, the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable but if she had not spent so much time talking to us in St Emilion we may have had time to at least by an icecream. Similarly, the tour to the vineyard could have been 30 minutes less.

My husband and I had a wonderful time. We did have a small group that day, which certainly added to the charm. The guide and driver were great and we really enjoyed both winery visits. It was a great value, and we'd recommend it to anyone.

My sister and I did a half-day trip. We toured a chateau which produced primarily Sauternes wine and one which made drier whites (grave, I believe) and reds. The trip was excellent. Our guide graciously translated everything into English for us and was also extremely knowledgeable about wine. For 31 euro we received two tours, approximately 3 glasses of wine, and an extensive lesson in the production and classification of Bordeaux wines. Definitely recommend taking this trip, so easy and a great deal! If you go in winter, make sure you're bundled up, those chateaus are chilly.

I traveled to Bordeaux for my 21st birthday with 2 of my friends. While this tour was definitely the cheapest wine tour that we could find, it was a fantastic tour. Our guide was great-she fluently switched between English and French. The tour was long-about 5.5 hours but I learned a lot about Bordeaux wines and chateaus and the tastings at 2 very different wineries were great.

Very interesting and informative but rather impersonal and uninspiring because of the size of the group

October 2010
Given the cost, time involved in travelling to the vineyards and effort of the guide and growers the amount and quality of wine samples was dire. Three minuscules samples between two producers felt mean-spirited. I wouldn't recommend this tour: I'm sure there are better value tours out there.

Tour did not cover the Entre deux Mers AOC. Also did not offer tour of the vineyards, only the barrel cellars of 2 different wineries. The wines offered were "vin ordinaires" and not at all exceptional.

It was o.k. I just think we could have gone to more wineries and there should have cheese and or chocolates to be offered with the wines. I also think that there should have accesible wine prices to be purchase like it is in California.

Great trip for two novices. We knew very little going into the tour and came out with a great amount of knowledge. Enjoyed the chateaux and St. Emilion tour. Perfect for those on a short trip and limited budget

August 2010
It was a half-day trip to Graves and Sauterne. We went to two vineyards, one of the a grand clu classe vineyard which is nice. Generally a long trip on a big coach bus, but since we were quite tired from travelling, so had many naps on the bus, so it was ok. Had quite a few glasses of delicious wine and some snacks, so it's all worth it!

This is a great trip to take if you have limited time in Bordeaux but want to get an expert overview of wine production in St Emillion and a great introduction to the history of this beautiful town.

Good, well organised tour. Entertaining vineyard owner. More freetime in St Emilion would have been good. Worth doing and enjoyable half-day trip. Wine experts will probably not learn anything new.

Wine tour was ok, but guide had to speak in 2 languages for a mixed lingual group, took twice as long as it should have. Better to have had separate language groups as in other tours. Town of St. Emilion was a marvelous choice for 2nd half of tour.

A knowledgeable guide, excellent wines tasted, and good variety from different Bordeaux appellations. Most of the day however was spent on a bus! An excellent way to see the Bordeaux country side, so take a map to clue yourself in on where you are through out the day.
