4.5! Excellent tour. Lunch was outstanding! Afternoon visits to 2 wineries were excellent as well. Morning could have included another museum or landmark.

Too much talking. Guide explained everything in english and french. Half of the info could be read by ourselves in the chateau district. Wine-tasting was good. Lunch of fried duck and cheese-tasting was fantastic. Too little time at St. Emilion.

Although this tour is a full day wine tour, don't expect there to be too much wine tasting. Over the entire day, I tasted 4 different wines, two at a chateau and two in the city of Bordeaux in a wine Museum. Expect to be walking around for the morning and a bus trip in the afternoon. _br/_ Lunch is great - if you like cheese.

Spent the first half of the day walking from the muesum back into town which was boring. Lunch was good. only got to 6 wine tastings for the day

Museum was interesting and the lady museum guide amusing. The young man leading the tour was highly knowledgeable but we were puzzled at being led around various churches/temples and lectured about religious history. This seemed to be a filler between museum and lunch. In short, tour could have started 30 min later. Lunch was good but may have been better at a chateau in the open air. Eventual wine tasting too much geared to sales with very little tasting!

Wine museum interesting. Lunch excellent - would have liked an extra half an hour to enjoy the wonderful cheeses on offer. Coach tour in the afternoon was also good. Only bit I would change would be the walking tour through Bordeaux in the morning - this could have been shortened/speeded up. Overall a worth while day.

This is an extremely good value trip. The museum tour at the beginning of the tour is very interesting and the guide really knew her stuff. Lunch was good not fantastic in light of the quality of food in Bordeaux, but a full 3 courses with as much wine as you want and very accommodating staff. The chateaux tours were both great and informative for the wine novice, but the guides were able to answer the more complicated questions too. The cellars are beautiful and - in light of a subsequent tour in the Champagne region - are real, as far as we could tell. All in all it was a great value trip. Our only regret was that we did not have time to visit l'ecole de vin opposite the tourist office to further our knowledge of the great bordeaux wines.

Fantastic full day tour including the history of wine making in Bordeaux and trip to vinyard. The bonus was having lunch included at the 'Cheese & Wine' restaurant, where you pick your own cheese board from about 50 different cheeses!! I would recommend this to everyone visiting Bordeaux

tour a waste of time 4 day.You can do the museum tour and the meal at any resturant in Bordeaux. We were dropped off at museum then spent next 3.5 hrs walking around different areas IN BORDEAUX STILL!!!!!!!,Wewere not picked up again untill 2.45 by bus and then taken to 2 wineries for same explaination and wine tasting as at museum.Myself and others particularly the elderly couple, and the one lady that left the tour group even before we got to resturant, feel we did not get what we paid for.Even the guide was rude when we voiced our concerns.Save money and only do a half tour. Day trip including museum tour, lunch and trip to St Emillon vineyards was excellent value and enjoyable. Guides were well informed and entertaining. Perhaps there was a little bit too much walking in the morning which may not be suitable for elderly people. Aside from that, assez bien!

Our guide turned up 30 minutes into the trip, but from there she was very friendly and informative. There were only 3 English speaking people on the trip, but she made sure we were given just as much attention as the 20 French tourists. It was quite entertaining watching her jump from French to English and keeping the whole group engaged. The information we received at each winery was very informative and our guide did a great job of translating eveything into English for us. Lunch was great and highly recommended, especially for fans of cheese. Aside from the delicious cheese entree, wine and duck main course, before desert we visited the cheese cellar, containing some 150 cheeses and could help ourselves to as many types of cheese as we cared to taste. I repeat, heaven for cheese fans. The second winery we visited was amazing, especially with the tasting taking place in a medieval castle surrounded by a moat. A very worthwhile way to experience a tour of Bordeaux!

In general an excellent day out a worthwhile trip, and very good value for money especially considering the lunchtime meal. My only criticism I've seen this mentioned in other reviews was that the tour was conducted in both French and English. This means quite a lot of standing around. Not so bad in the afternooons at the Chateaux, as we could wander about during the French explanations, but the morning museum trip passed very slowly... Would have been nice to split the groups. Our morning consisted of a visit to the wine museum, followed by a walking tour of the Wine Merchant district. An excellent lunch was provided at a Fromagerie if you are a cheeseoholic you should probably seek professional help after devouring their cheese cave if you are fromageophobic like my girlfriend, they still do a decent main course and dessert. After lunch, we joined up with the half-day tour, so the number of people doubled. The chateaux visits are almost luck-of-the-draw. The first one pretty as it was we spent most of our time in a large shed. The second chateau, in contrast, was magnificent. Summary - Plenty of wine tasting I believe we sampled 6 - Opportunity for shopping at each stop - Learn about the wine making process and the region - Friendly tour guide, and helpful chateaux guides

This was much more than a wine tour going from cellar door to cellar door. It added history and understanding to what Bordeaux wines are and where they came from.

As we are Australian wine lovers, we wanted to sample some French wines. This tour takes you to a wine museum showing the changes throughout the centuries, and the merchant houses. Traveling to the chateau's for the tastings the countryside is beautiful. You also visit the wine cellars. It is interesting for those who wish to know how wine is made in France!

I enjoyed the lunch served at Bordeaux city two wineries visited were reasonable and the guide did a good job. At times, it was little difficult to comprehend due to her French accent, but what do you expect, we are in France. Museum tours, both at Bordeaux and at the Chateau were very educational to me because I am a home winemaker as a hobby. I wish I had little more time to spend at the museum to explore and learn. I recommend a quick tour of the vineyard during the trip next time.

I thought too much of the tour was spent in the museum in the morning. It was an interesting session to walk through the museum and learn the history, but because the guide spoke first in French and then in English, it took way too long. I think there should be two separate tour guides, one French-speaker and one English-speaker. Because of how long we took in the museum, we were rushed through lunch in order to be able to board the bus that took us to the chateaus. Visiting the chateaus was a great experience, but once again, I think there should have been two tour guides, one for French and one for English. I also think lunch should be at a chateau, outside, to enjoy the weather and the views.

Worth doing but probably just the afternoon portion where you go to the winery and the town of St Emillion if you are only visiting Bordeaux for 1-2 days. Doing both the morning and afternoon parts made for a very long day 8 hours but I will say the lunch that was included in the tour was A and top notch!!!

It wasn't what we expected. We spent half the tour not even amongst the vineyards but in Bordeaux, walking the around the city. Also, we only went to 2 estates where we only tasted one particular wine at each estate. We expected to do wine 'tasting', not taste only one wine.

The morning tour and lunch were fantastic. The city walking tour across cobblestoned streets was very long, and tours of wineries got to be a bit redundant if you have had winery tours before.

The lunch was an absolute highlight, set in an old style fromagerie with a cheese cellar. However, much of the day was spent learning about wine when we were keen to get into a large variety of wine!

Great trip. The visit to the cheese restaurant was a fantastic surprise. Fabulous atmosphere and quality. Well worth a visit even on its own. Our tour guide was great, especially when I was disappointed with the vintage of wine we tried. She quickly organised for the owner of the vineyard to recommend different wines, which was definitely worthwhile. A fantastic trip that I would highly recommend to anyone. Full day trip is a better value and more fun that just half day trip. Only criticism was that some of the translators were difficult to understand. Otherwise it was fantastic and I would definitely go again and recommend to friends.

There was a social aspect to the trip which I really enjoyed. Our visit to the house of Calvi and walk around Bordeaux were absolutely excellent. Our guide was very pleasant and friendly. The afternoon trip to the vineyards was crowded but still very enjoyable.
