Autumn on Old Cape Cod

Boston, United States of America

Autumn is a special time in Cape Cod. With summer's warmth lingering, the multicolored splendor of New England's foliage offers a superb accent to the already beautiful vistas of this magical region just south of Boston. Ride through Quincy, past the Adams Mansion and the birthplaces of two American presidents.

After crossing the Cape Cod Canal, you'll visit the Sandwich Glass Museum and the Dexter Grist Mill. Lunch is on your own before arriving in Hyannisport, where you'll visit a memorial to President John F. Kennedy. To cap your day, join a lectured sightseeing cruise, which offers the best possible view of the Kennedy Compound.

This tour is seasonal and operates from September to October

The bus driver/tour guide was terrific. We learned a lot about the Cape Cod region. The harbor tour was great. The lunch stop, however, was not so good. Find a new Restaurant.

Driver was very knowledgable and went out of his way to show us the best things. The group atmosphere was not so good (lots of small groups that were a bit hostile towards the others, and I was half the age as everyone else (I'm 30) . The warm personality of the driver really made a difference in this trip.

Very enjoyable. There was one road closure, but the tour guide worked around it and we stopped everywhere we were supposed to.

On our vacation this was the best tour we went on even though the day was a little cool. The driver/guide was amazing. He was vey informed and related events/history/stories with the ability to keep and peek your interest. We were never rushed and were able to keep a very busy full day schedule seeing more areas than anticipated.

was picked up at 8.55am from tremount street, and then had a wait to exchange vouchers to tickets at bus depot, left there at 9.45am. Our driver and guide was very knowledgable. We had a senic drive once on the cape, then saw the road the Kennedy compound is on. The seafood cafe that is used on this tour was very nice and food was out quickly, and own expense, but there is discounts for the bus tour. Had 1 hour harbor cruise, but they pack the boat with lots of people. so the views are not always good. saw the Kennedy compound from the water. The Jerry met us again and took us to the JFK Memorial and then on to the Sandwich glass factory. The girl doing the glass blowing was quiet boring, she could have been better. And then you have time to walk around the glass musuem and across the road is the grist flour mill. Was back at pick up location at 6.30pm. Just one note you don't get to stop in Hyanis port on this tour, it would have been nice as looks like a nice seaside main street.

Fantastic day, tour guide was very experienced and informative and we both agree that the detour to the Founding Fathers monument should be included in the tour and it would be worth investing money with the local community to facilitate this. Once again, thank you for a great day.

The weather was so bad we could not take the cruise on the day we went. We did not feel too bad as our guide substituted a trip to Pilmonth. The glass blowing place is smalll and does not sell anything actually made in the gift shop

Did not enjoy this day as much as the Pilgrims path tour. It was O.k. It was a very long day, lots of travelling for a small amount of site seeing and we did not get a very good look at the Kennedy Compound. Sometimes you had to have a very good imagination to picture which house the tour guide was talking about on the boat.

Excellent driver/guide. Arrived on time at every stop. Learned many interesting facts on the people and region, both current and historically. Food was good local fare at lunch stop. Coach comfortable with toilet on board. A long tiring day, but suits a short visit to Boston area.

For a day on the shore of the ocean, it is worth taking this trip. You can admire small villages and nice scenery.

I enjoyed the day but I would have liked longer in the pretty little township of Sandwich.

We have taken many tours through Viator in the U.S., Canada and Europe and this was our first bad experience. We went to Cape Cod expecting to see quaint towns and sandy beaches, we saw neither. Our tour consisted of a drive through the town of Sandwich and a boat ride to see the Kennedy compound from a distance. Most of our travel was on the main road through the center of the island, we saw many mini malls. Very disappointing.
