Boston Whale Watching Cruise

Boston, United States of America

Looking for a whale watch that requires less travel time, offers the most comfortable ride available and gives you more time viewing some of the world's most magnificent creatures? Look no further! Here is Boston's ONLY 3-Hour Whale Watch on a high-speed catamaran. They will get you to and from the whales in half the time, which allows you more time to watch the whales.

You'll visit Stellwagen Bank, the East Coast's most famous whale watching destination. Stellwagen's heavy concentration of humpback, finback, and minke whales guarantees an adventure filled with opportunities to view and learn about whales as they frolic in their natural habitat.

Each Boston Whale Watching Cruise is narrated and guided by a naturalist from the noted Whale Center of New England (WCNE). The WCNE has been studying the whales of New England for more than 20 years and its members are recognized worldwide as authorities on whales.

One of the whales you're likely to spot during a Boston Whale Watching Cruise is the humpback. These Northern hemisphere humpbacks reach an average length of 50 feet, and a weight of about 37 tons! Sadly, they're also among the most endangered, and its estimated that only 8 percent of their original population remains.

With the data collected on each cruise, WCNE is able to further the understanding of whales and their world. And, their presence on board ensures that your whale watch will be an exciting and educational trip.

Whale sightings on every whale watch. If you do not see a whale on your trip, you will receive a free ticket for a future Boston Whale Watching Cruise.

The catamarans feature 3 outside decks for optimum viewing capability. Inside you will find climate controlled cabin space with cushioned seating, tables, state-of-the-art audio-visual, and a galley offering snacks and beverages for purchase.

Not sure how to rate this as I think every trip is different. Day I went the waves quite high and it was 4 hrs of bad sea sickness. Only got short time actually watching whales and only saw 5 and not even that close. Believe day before they had 15 as sea was calmer. I do not think I would do again but thats just because I felt so ill on boat.

Sadly we did not sea any whales on our trip. The weather wasn't too good, pouring with rain. We have been issued with open-ended replacement tickets, however as we live in the UK it's unlkely we wil be able to use them.

On a sunny day and a bunch of whales, I would have been giving this event 5 stars. We did see some whales, and it was a been there, done that event. But the sailtrip and the guides are excellent. I Can recommend this Tour, but be aware of where you are when you reach the whalespot, if you want a good chance to se the whales. I was on the top floor in the front, so I had a very good sight.

We booked a 10am trip but when we reached the harbour ticket booth we were told that they had cancelled the 10am trip, no explanation why but assume at this time of year it's getting quieter so didm't need so many trips. Luckily it was a beautiful day so stripped off some of the layers we needed for on the boat and spent 2 hours taking in the sites of the beautiful harbour area before getting the 12 o'clock trip. Big boat with plenty of viewing areas and information ongoing from marine biololgists who kept us informed of any possible sitings. Unfortunately we only saw 2 whales, I think September was a bit late and whales had moved on. I would very much recommend this trip but at a different time of year and also check the before that your booked trip is running.

My husband and I had a wonderful time. We saw a TON of whales! Great experience! Just a note to the people who get sea sick.... This is a three hour tour, but for us, it was just under 5 hours long. This was from the time we started loading onto the boat to the time we stepped off. Glad I took my Dramamine!

Although there were not as many sightings as I would have liked I still enjoyed the atmosphere. My only real criticism concerns the young lady on the speaker system. She was extremely difficult to understand, and I should know, I teach speech!

The tour was all I had hoped it would be. Seeing a humpback with her calf beside her is a sight I shall never forget! The guide was full of interesting information, and after the sighting, on the way back, she came around to ask if anybody had any questions.

What a beautifull day it was ; ) The tour lasted 4 hrs under a beautifull sun. No whales were seen and replacements vouchers were distributed to all passagers. Viator agreed to make last minute changes to my reservation [price]. The company offering the tour was superb. Great way to escape the city ; )

We were delighted to see a lot of whales on this trip. The journey to and from the whales was very uncomfortable. There were no seats left on the bottom deck and no seating at all on the top deck. We ended up sitting on the floor to escape the wind (wrap up warm). There was a school trip on board running around and falling into other passengers - it was an absolute disgrace that the crew did nothing at all to stop this and we got the impression that they couldn't care less. Over 50% of the passengers ended up being sea sick.

We were very lucky to get a day when the whales were abundant. Unfortunately it was a blustery day and on a catamaran it can be very bumpy, so nearly half the passengers were sick getting there. When we finally got to the whale feeding area it was terrific, but definitely the trip is not for the faint hearted or queasy. The cruise ran out of paper 'vomit' bags and were dispensing plastic bags, a good few of which went overboard, not the most eco friendly alternative, perhaps they should stock up on more of the paper variety so as not to compromise the environment!!! But otherwise very exciting and well worth it.

The whole experience from booking to getting off the boat was very good. The boat itself was excellent, my only slight complaint was that every time we got close to a whale the boat seemed to move off further away or too a different angle which spoilt the taking of photographs.

Enjoyed the trip enormously. To see the whales in their natural surroundings is wonderful. However the only downside was the amount of people who were seasick on the 1hour journey to the whale site. Over half the people on the boat were seasick so if you are prone to seasickness be warned. The journey back was fine as you are going with the currents. If you can go, do it as you wont regret it.

It was a rough and windy trip out to the area to see the whales, but it was really worth every minute. We saw two mothers and their calves. Lots of breaching going on, twisting and banging of tails and fins. We were so very fortunte to see so many sightings. It was the highlight of our trip.

Absolutely FANTASTIC! Saw many whales both in the distance and close up. There was plenty of room on the boat - it was possible to sit inside until a whale was sighted and then we were guaranteed a good viewing place one we stepped outside. This may be due to the time of year October, perhaps the trip was not as busy as it sometimes is during the summer months. Would definitely recommend this trip as they guarantee that you see whales or offer you a full refund!!
