Fall Foliage Spectacular Tour from Boston

Boston, United States of America

Enjoy the spectacular New England countryside as the leaves turn a multitude of colors during the fall season. A pleasant tour of foliage display is capped by a stop at a native orchard for apples and cider.

Experience the gently rolling New England countryside, awash with the colors of Indian Summer. Travel past quiet ponds and ancient farms, weathered roadside taverns and sturdy colonial churches. Enjoy a hot Yankee style lunch at a quaint New England tavern nestled in the heart of the mountains (cost is additional).

Finish your afternoon with a visit to a native orchard where apples are grown and local (non-alcoholic) cider is made. Pickup and drop off from selected Boston and Cambridge hotels.

This tour is seasonal and operates from September to October

We enjoyed the trip although we were a bit disappointed that there wasn't more colour. I know this can vary from year to year but a visit mid/end October would probably have been better to see the foliage at its best. However we enjoyed all other aspects of the trip.

very knowledgeable driver. group was much nicer and younger than on other tours I have taken (normally I am half as old as the others (I'm 30) but this time I made a few new friends, too. The lunch portions were very very small, that was disappointing. Driver made an effort to find the good spots and I took some great pictures.

It had rained all day the day before our tour and our driver advised that as a result we may not see the foliage at it's best, added to which this fall hadn't produced the best colours. However despite a misty start to the day, we did see some wonderful colours and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Our driver was very informative and interesting. We had plenty of photo opportunities and stopped for a lovely lunch (not included in the price). Overall a lovely day and I would recommend this tour.

A good tour - would have been better if the trees had been behaving and changing colour like they should have been! We were really chasing colour all day but didn't see as much as we had expected although travelling through the countryside was pretty and interesting._br/_ Lunch was average but expensive for the quality. Our friends chose not to take the set menu and had a great meal in the bar instead - you don't have to take the set menu although they don't tell you that!_br/_ Pick up on both the tours we took was supposed to be from the Hilton across the road from the Sheraton where we were staying and on both days the coach stopped outside the Sheraton so we had to walk back across the road! And both days it was late - almost half an hour late on the second day!

The worst trip I ever had. The trip should have been cancelled by viator. I should have realized the trip was going to be a bust when the bus driver started off with a disclaimer about the foliage. FOLIAGE WHAT FOLIAGE. I realize companies need to make money. How about a moral obligation on Viators part and resheduele the trip or offer an free ticket for another day._br/_ This is my first and last trip with Viator.

There was a bit of a mix-up with the paper voucher. Even if the instructions on the paper voucher state that you need to present the paper voucher to the tour leader (implying that all you really need to get on the bus is the paper voucher), you still need to go inside the office and exchange the paper voucher for a receipt. Otherwise, the tour was okay. The leaves weren't quite in full bloom yet (not anyone's fault), but our tour guide made up for it by telling historical tidbits about each place.

The organisation of the trip was excellent, unfortunately it rained all day but we cannot blame viator or the Grayline tour operator, the driver was knowledgeale and he did not los his sense of humour inspite of the weather

Unfortunately, despite the driver talking it up, the tour was too early, there was hardly any colour to be seen at the time. A fairer tour description would be 'possibly spectacular' as this depends on the weather conditions. The driver tried to mke it more so by promising us a 'truly super day' when we got north, which did not happen. Not really value for money, especially when you had to pay more for a mediocre lunch. Not worth doing unless you can see the colours in Boston first.

An excellent day out which gave us lots of photo opportunities and a good introduction to the area. The towns that we passed through were really pretty and very different to anything we saw anywhere else. Lunch was very good and our guide, was excellent, funny and informative.

The trip was wonderful--partly because the weather was so good and partly because it was so well organized and carried out. Our driver/guide was enjoyable and considerate. We never felt rushed, but did keep to a schedule that was very full. The stops we made were gave us beautiful views and great opportunities for pictures. Lunch was delicious. I highly recommend this tour to anyone. Superb day!!

Excellent time had by all! The bus driver was so funny and knowledeable about Boston, New Hampshire and why leaves true color are yellow! One thing though, have the places we stop at have more bathrooms for the ladies! Thank you so much!

Driver was excellent and we certainly seemed to cover some ground. However, the photo opportunities were disappointing. The places we stopped at lacked colour or were difficult to get to because of a steep bank and trees obscuring the view across to the colour. The last stop was a supermarket car park! We seemed to drive past places that had more colour. We made a couple of extra drive bys but had to take photographs through the window - pretty hopeless in bright sunlight. Lunch was adequate but not very inspiring and quite slow. I enjoyed the day overall because of the driver and the other passengers, but with a little more thought into the stop off places, this trip would be amazing.

Well organised and driver took some very nice detours which meant we saw alot more than scheduled. Unfortunately I was a bit travel sick and having a driver that talked constantly over the speaker system made me feel alot worse, but he did look after us and had I been feeling well I would have enjoyed his commentary (and awful jokes). Lunch was lovely, a home-cooked meal at Lilys on the Pond which was part of the tour. Overall a very handy tour if you don't drive. Thanks Viator!

This tour company provides a driver for each tour, and the driver is also the tour guide. He uses a hand-held mike which makes his commentary somewhat chopped up because he has to drive and hold the microphone at the same time. Given that, the tour took us out into the countryside to view the fall foliage. The main advantage for me was not having to drive a rental car.

It was our first experience of being treated like animals herded. We were picked up from a hotel but not the ones listed as pick up hotels were pick up hotels. Then despite having an e-ticket we were hearded into a line having to wait to exchange our ticket for a boarding ticket. An hour after we were picked up from the hotel we boarded. The driver made a sarcastic remark as we were slightly late. Also we were given a choice of 3 meals to decide upon immediately for lunch - told that's all we could have. Yet the restaurant had a much bigger menu. The driver hearded us in and out of the bus. Not a pleasant experience. Nevertheless we saw the foliage colour for which we had come.

You should include a "red index"to avoid dissapointed customers. In our case the red index was 1 in an escale 1 to 5. We had flown from Florida just o see the spectacular foliage and it was not what we expected to see. Besides that the bus and lunch were OK.
