Springbrook National Park Discovery Full-Day Bushwalk including Glow Worm Tour

Brisbane, Australia

Explore the World Heritage Rainforest of Springbrook National Park, featuring many waterfalls, rainforest walking (approx. 4.5km), great look outs and fascinating Glow Worms. Lunch is served with views over Purlingbrook Falls and hotel transfers are available from both Brisbane or Gold Coast for your convenience.

Discover the World Heritage Rainforest. Start your day by visiting the spectacular Natural Arch. This amazing natural formation is a waterfall and cave all in one, courtesy of mother nature.

Next we are off to Springbrook National Park. On guided 4km walk, discover stunning cascading waterfalls, marvel at the wonders of the rainforest while walking the Twin Falls Circuit. Your guided walk through sub-tropical temperate rainforest takes you a little further to the viewpoints that most visitors miss out on.

Enjoy a delicious lunch as you overlook the regions largest waterfall, Purlingbrook Falls.

Following lunch, journey into the rainforest to see the endangered 2000 year old Antartic Beech Trees. Then stand of the edge of the extinct Tweed Shield Volcano.

keep a lookout for native wildlife such as wallabys and rainforest. You might get lucky and spot some rare wildlife from the tracks.

Next, the "Best Of All Lookout", which is just as good as its name suggests! Here you have sweeping views from Byron Bay to Tweed Heads.

Your last activity today is to visit the grotto. Home to one of the rainforest's most intriguing creatures, glow worms. In the pitch black darkness of the grotto, 10 000 glow worms light up the ceiling like stars in the night. A full day of stunning views, mountains of information and hearty food.

Please note: walks are suitable to people of average fitness. Some sections include stairs, uneven ground, creek crossings over wet rocks. It is advised to take a raincoat in all seasons. While every attempt is made to visit everything on the itinerary, inclusions are subject to change without notice.

The trip was amazing, we saw fabulous sights and views. But lunch was a bit basic, for the money we paid expected more the a cheese sandwich! Would recommend for the scenery and walk alone . Maybe not the best value for money compared to other trips we have been on this holiday

Great guide Nathan that gave fun introductions to everything there was to see, and went out of his way to find more to show us. Glow worms were quite amazing and definitely real (if you look carefully you see tiny movements of some, and the light they generate is enough to see the pearl necklaces they make. In all, very recommended!

This was one of the best excursions we've ever booked. It was an active day filled with wonderful flora and fauna and fascinating facts. Our guide (Nathan) was knowledgeable and entertaining and went out of his way to meet our needs and interests. I would consider this a 'must see' event for anyone visiting the Gold Coast and would highly recommend it for anyone staying in Brisbane, which would make this a longer outing. Worth every penny!

The tour was basically saved by Nathan, the tour guide. The weather was challenging, very cold and drizzly, but the sights were excellent. However, the morning tea and lunch were miserable. A packet of butternut biscuits for morning tea and lemon cordial plus cryovacked salami, entry level supermarket ham, stale wraps with half an old iceberg lettuce and three tomatoes all served on aged plastic contributed to the impression of a cowboy operation. There were no hot drinks all day. This part of the package needs serious work. The highlight though was the visit to the crimson rosella and glowworm venue.

Excellent tour and the tour guide, Ian , was not only knowledgeable but could be amusing as well. Good tour for those who love nature but definitely not for those who suffer from arthritis, muscular conditions and the non-fit as there is a lot of walking to do!

If you are staying in Brisbane city this tour is a must. We got picked up nice and early from one of the pick up points. The tour that we went on was stunning. The picture that is showing is one of the many waterfalls that you actually visit. All are well worth seeing (if you like waterfalls). Our tour guide (meg) was extremely enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The lunch which you get is tasty and well deserved after all of the walking.

Loved the tour, Springbrook was phenomenal! Enjoyed the fresh bakery sandwiches. Maybe some more snack food in the morning? My only complaint (other than the tour being postponed to Friday) was that some of the ladies were quite unfit and slow, and we were not able to complete the whole hike due to time constraints. Other, than that, the day was lovely!

rushed, 45 min late in pick up , then rushed us all day, lunch was minimal, only water to drink with lunch, with 1 bottle of some flavoring to add for 20 people, glow worm cave almost looked fake, other tours let people take pictures, this one did not, so left doubt in your mind, had a rented bus she had to get back so did not go to all the places mentioned. 2 of us at age 76 took longer to make the walk, we were 1/2 hour longer for this 4.5 km walk which she said was too long.

The bushwalking tour through Springbrook was incredible!! We saw the most beautiful scenery and got up close to gorgeous, flowing waterfalls. The tour guide was friendly, witty and able to tell us all we would want to know about the park, the wildlife .. and anything else we saw along the way. The trip was well organised and gave us plenty of time to wander and explore. If you're looking for something fun that'll keep you active, then this is definitely the trip for you =)

We enjoyed the day trip and the scenery was magnificent, our guide very nice and made the day much more enjoyable. However the coach was very old, shabby and bumpy, and we had no seat belts which made me feel very vulnerable as we were driving in mountains and on motorways. I would not book again without assurance of a better vehicle.

It was a good walk in the rainforest/jungle, and our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about animals, plants, and geology. We had a morning tea under the waterfall, and had light lunch with burgers, juice, and fruit. All prepared by our guide. The lunch was simple but sufficient, and everyone was very full and satisfied after the long walk. I would recommend this tour to those never or hardly in a jungle. The scenery in Springbrook National Park is very similar to what I have in my country, that is in sub-tropic as Queensland.

It is a very wonderful experience. Thank you John for the very informative and humourous guide. The lookouts are wonderful. We can see a lot of beautiful falls. In fact, what is unique in springbrook from Tamborine or KurandaCairns is that this national park is almost undeveloped which we could see the natural beauty in the greatest extend. Although the food is not tasty, who cares that if you really want to see natural rainforest

Beautiful walk and scenery. Better than Tamborine, so if you only want to do one rainforest walk I would recommend this one. Again, excellent tour guides who had an extensive knowledge of the fauna. Amazing waterfalls and you get to feed parrots out of your hands too!

A magic rainforest with waterfalls, beautiful views and lots of wildlife. It was a rainy day and that maybe made it even better because there was water everywhere, as rain, mist, fog, waterfalls, drops on leaves, little creeks. I just wish we had more time there. Next time.

This full day outing was well worth the money. Had a fantastic day seeing the Rain Forest and the Glow Worms. I think the itenery was slightly changed from the advertised but I assume this was to do with the weather we were having, It didn't spoil anything though. Started the day off with tea and cake then a short walk to the beautiful Natural Arch waterfall. We then drove onto the main part of the day, the 4km walk through Springbrook National Park. Some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever scene. Lunch was very nice, and plenty of it. Nice opportunity to get to know everyone. We then went onto the Glow Worm grotto, and also were allowed to hand feed some Parrots! A very fun and interesting day, our guide Nev was superb and very helpful and knowledgable. I would highly recommend this day out if you want to do something a bit different!!

We weren't able to do this exact trip. We did Tamborine instead, which was a fun day but no walking under waterfalls or looking at glow worms. We had leeches, which weren't a big deal but might scare people off.

Bushwalking was nice, but not for everyone. People who aren't fit should not participate. The guide was friendly, but not an expert in wild trees and flowers. He could not answer many questions. Glow worms were not wild ones but those cultured in an artificial cave.

Fantastic! Had a wonderful tour guide, John, and the walks were good and just about enough considering the heat and humidity. Got to see some great waterfalls, lizards and a red bellied balck snake - one of the most poisonous in Australia! Got some beautiful pictures, which I'll be blowing up to wall prints soon! The glow worm cave could have been better though, bit of a non-event, but at the same place we did get to hand feed some parrots, viscious but oh so entertaining- - espcecially when they kept landing on my head!

Springbrook National Park has many things to offer like beautiful scenery, a rain forest with unusual trees and other plants, birds, insects, glow-in-the-dark worms, and exceptional waterfalls. Rainbow over Rainbow Waterfall was breathtaking, and walk behind waterfalls was a thrill. However, all these nature treasures would have not been complete without a knowledgeable, enthusiastic and funny guide.
