The tour was good and you get to see some parts of Brussels like St Niklaas Church etc. on the walking tour. However, the chocolate tasting itself wasn't really worth it. I think the tour was very expensive for what you get. If you did it on your own, you would have received the same amount (1block chocolate per shop) and it would have worked out a lot cheaper. If you google the BEST chocolate shops in Brussels and just visit them, you would end up at the same places. If you haven't seen Brussels, then this tour is worth doing for the walking and guide part, but the chocolate part you might as well do on your own. Not value for money.

I read all the reviews about this tour before I booked it and every one was right! We were lucky enough to have mark the owner of the business and he made it such an enjoyable experience for us. Very good knowledge and great chocolate making activity! A+++

Rather boring tour by an uncharesmatic tour guide, essentially takes you round a few shops where you are given a couple of free chocolates (which you would have been given if you went there by yourslef anyway. The tour guide seemed to be obsessed with the 'illuminati' which he went on about a lot, and didn't really tell me anyything about chocolate that I didn't already know (which isn't much).

Very informative but not much chocolate tasting and was disappointed that I didn't get to do the workshop as obviously paid for it.

The tour and chocolate tasting were good but not worth the cost. I recommend doing a different walking tour and sample/buy chocolates on your own. When the tour part of the day was ending I asked about the workshop and I was told very quietly to wait until he had said goodbye to everyone else and he would talk to me about a possible partial refund - the guide didn't tell this to anyone who didn't explicitly ask about the workshop, he was trying to get away without mentioning it! After a lot of discussion we did end up doing the workshop but it was not good. There was a bowl of melted chocolate and we were given a few pieces of marzipan, candied orange peel and nuts to dip in. It was like a kindergarten class.

In contrary to the other reviews our experience was not so good. The walking tour was really interesting and the guide did an excellent job in giving interesting and relevant information. After 4 hours we returned at the main square and were wished a happy continuation of our holiday. So we asked the guide, what about the workshop??? He answered that he wasn't able to secure places because of the busy holiday period, but that we could return the next day for doing the workshop. At this point already 6 participants, who weren't vocal enough to ask for the workshop, had left. The remaining group (~10px) didn't agree and we were asked to come back after one hour. When we returned he had sent a schoolboy to bring the bad news that there would be no workshop today and that we either could choose to get a 20% refund of do the workshop tomorrow. As we didn't agree the guide finally showed up after an additional 45mins and came with the same proposal. After some haggling he agreed with a 50% refund. As we were walking towards the ATM he went into the Chocolate Museum and suddenly we could do the workshop there. I'm very unappreciative of the fact that he knew before the tour started that he wasn't able to facilitate the workshop but didn't care to tell us and that he got away with the money of the 6 persons that werent vocal enough. My guess (given the other positive feedback) is that this was an incident, but be careful none the less in the holiday periods as they showed here not to be honest with their guests!

Enjoyed the tour, although there were not as many samples as I had hoped. I had already tasted Godiva chocolate in Brussels and one of the other places we went - Chocopolis, already gives out a free sample to anyone who walks into their shop, so I had already tried that chocolate as well. Besides those two, we sampled chocolates at two other places, one of which we were not given a choice of which chocolate to sample. Don't get me wrong, there was plenty of opportunity to eat chocolate when we made our own chocolate, it just would have been nice to sample a wider variety of Belgian chocolate. It was a small group and we were given good information on Brussels as we walked around.

This was a most enjoyable and educational tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable. We visited a good range of shops with free tastings in each. The one hour hands on experience with an expert chocolatier was an exceptional experience. And we got to take home all of the chocolate we made. This tour is good value for money.

This tour was amazing. The guide was very well informed and took us not only on a chocolate tasting tour but a walking tour of Brussels. Where we saw things and places that we wouldn't have known about other wise. Went to a lot of different chocolate shops and cathedrals, and he even pointed out top pubs and places to eat such as waffles and frites. Well worth the money. The only complaint we would have is it was a lot of walking, and we didn't really have time to buy chocolate from the shops while we were there. And some of the shops were in locations that would be difficult to locate without a guide.

I had a great time on this tour. The walking tour portion was very good. Our guide gave us some great tips about local restaurants and sights. but the highlight for me was definitely the chocolate making workshop! The chocolatier at Chocopolis was so great to work with - he was so patient with us as amateurs, and always had a big smile on his face. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for an inside looks at the area surrounding Le Grand Place, and of course, for chocolate lovers!

Loved the tour and tour quide "Mark". The workshop was soo much fun and delicious. We all helped each other and played in the chocolate. Beside Chocolate, we saw and learned information not available on other tours. Mark was the best, the very best guide I have ever had.

Wonderful fun! Mark our guide was informative about both chocolate and the city, Tasted chocolates at spots we never had tried before and were pleasantly surprised at the rich, creamy taste these "little" shops had to offer. Lots of samples and no pressure into buying from any of the shops. The chocolate workshop is not to be missed. You pour your own molds, pipe in the filling and top off the molds with more deliciousiness. We had such a great time that we would do it again. Great tour for the money and well worth your time if you love chocolate..

Fun tour to do if you are a chocoholic like I am. I would say it was less walking tour, more chocolate tasting and chocolate workshop (although the pouring rain might have been a factor). The tastings were great - you get to go to about 6 chocolatiers and get to chose anything you like to taste. The demonstration / workshop was a lot of fun too - you definitely get to appreciate the work that goes into making chocolates. Also, we finished that tour with a refreshing beer at one of the bars just off the Grand Place - it was a nice end to the day.

As one who doesn't particularly love chocolate as much as the rest of the world, I found the chocolate tour satisfactory. This may have to do with the fact that we basically had loads of chocolate for breakfast and nothing else to eat for four hours. Was it worth the money? Yes. Sure it was. What else would we have done if not the chocolate tour? I was blown away by how nice the chocolate shops were. They looked like jewelry stores, and priced just as much (sadly). Our tour guide was helpful, offering tips on where to eat, where to visit, and which areas to avoid. He seemed more than a tour guide. Throughout the tour, he would tell us random trivia about Belgium which I quite enjoyed. Historical sites were all around us during the walking tour and he told facts about those as well. I didn’t know much about the tour because I did it out of peer pressure, so I was pleasantly surprised to find out we’d be making our own DELICIOUS chocolate. After you go through the whole process, you get to take some of it home with you. That was definitely the highlight of the tour.
