Buenos Aires, Argentina

Discover the friendly and fascinating city of Buenos Aires on foot. This 2 mile (3.2km) morning walking tour of Buenos Aires is a pleasant way to experience the unique culture of Argentina, its history, customs, buildings and monuments. An educational and fun way to explore Argentina's capital city!

In this 2.5 hour walking tour, you'll discover just what makes Buenos Aires the famous, flamboyant "Paris of the South". This is a fun, entertaining walk rich in history, culture and architecture, where you'll find out everything that makes Buenos Aires so special: the influence of the Spanish, the Italian, the French and (unexpectedly) the British, who had enormous presence here. Along this walk you'll also learn about unique customs and peculiar value which puzzle most visitors.

The walking tour covers over 25 "must see" attractions including:

  • Florida St. and Early History of BA
  • Paz Palace - French splendour: 120 rooms for a family of four
  • San Martin's Monument - How Argentina was born
  • Kavanagh Building - and many more: architecture of BA
  • Holy Sacrament: a Private Cathedral worth a Vatican title
  • British Clock Tower - Falklands War Memorial
  • Destroyed Embassy of Israel - Beautiful Bencich Building
  • Barrio Norte - the Paris of the South
  • Mihanovich and Strugamou Buildings
  • Arroyo Street shortcut and its Art Galeries
  • Alvear Street and its Palatial Mansions
  • Nuestra Senora del Pilar Church
  • Recoleta Neighborhood and La Biela Cafe
  • ...and lots of local stories, curious facts & peculiarities!

Listen as your knowledgeable guide informs you about the local history, architecture, traditions, habits and unique features you might never have discovered otherwise. This is a fun, easy going tour where you will be taken "off the beaten track".

We enjoyed this tour even though it did not cover some of the major places of interest. Martin was a good guide and the pace was comfortable.

Knowledgeable and entertaining guide takes small group around some interesting sites in central area. All good. Our only negative was we found the morning tour was a little limited (our fault because we booked a short time) but we added an after-noon extension and that made it all feel like a better tour.

There were only 2 of us on the tour and Martin had been up till 3am the previous night so not at his best. However we got a good feel for the city through his insight. Only some of the sights mentioned in the tour description were visited and no coffee stop! Overall worth doing though.

I call this "Tour with Attitude." This was a walking tour of some neighborhoods of Buenos Aires. Guide was very knowledgeable--and opinionated about advantages and disadvantages of Argentinian life. In middle of tour, you will have a "coffee break" with guide. This gives you a chance to better understand Argentina culture and how they view work---"we work to live"---as compared to "we live to work." Argentinians are about enjoying life--not about working hard. The guide who spent lot of time in Canada is very well spoken---just don't take the side of England in the Falkans War!

FANTASTIC!!! The walking guide spoke PERFECT English and was really nice. It was just my wife and I on the tour so it felt like walking the city with a friend. We saw way more than I thought we would and he gave us the history of many local buildings and sites. The tour was one of the best walking tours we have been on and I would say it was the best way to really see the main sites.

Excellent escorted guided tour. Our guide was well informed, and we especially appreciated his explanations in perfect English. Great value and good exercise to walk the route that was easy for the average person. One in our party has respiratory deficiency, but there were frequent pauses that allowed him to catch up. Doing it on your own is false economy, since you would miss so much of the historic commentary a local guide provides. We would not hesitate to recommend this tour to a friend. Five Stars!
