Tigre Delta Day Trip from Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Don't miss out on the opportunity to visit the must-see Tigre area while you're in Buenos Aires. You'll take a picturesque boat ride along the Rio de la Plata and visit the extraordinary ecological area of the Parana River delta.

Departing from Buenos Aires, you'll take in picturesque views as you travel aboard a motor coach until reaching the city of Tigre. If you've chosen one of the half-day options, you'll begin your sail immediately and enjoy a ride along the Rio de la Plata river.

If you've chosen the full-day option, you'll first tour the city of Tigre by bus, taking in the sights as your guide points out famous landmarks and areas of interest. Then, head over to the Villa Julia for a delicious Argentinian lunch before jumping aboard the boat for your return sail along the Rio de la Plata river.

The luxurious homes and attractive coastline of this lovely area are located only 18 miles (30km) north of Buenos Aires, so you have no excuse not to visit Tigre!

From the hotel pickup to the return, we thoughoroly enjoyed the tour. The guide gave us a real insight to the Tigre area and the Delta. His knowledge was good and he was very informative. The lunch was good value for money and very typical. The return trip again was informative and interesting and we arrived home after having a wonderful experience. I would recommend this trip to anyone wanting to experience the River Plate and its many islands.

Great trip and well organised. The only awkward bit is after booking on line the e mail invites you to phone locally to arrange transport pick up not easy as I don't speak Spanish and the guy didn't speak English, why could this not be done on line?

We did the full day trip. Great day and good value. First part of the trip was spoilt by video camera man on bus who rambled on in Spanish for ages and we can't understand Spanish.

The local tour agent is responsive, has english-speaking agents on the phone, and hotel pick-up is hassle-free and on time. The tour guide can speak in excellent English and Spanish._br/_ The tour itself is highly-recommended, as it show-cases different facets of life and views of the river delta, that is distinct from the main Buenos Aires city.

We didn't speak Spanish and the other passengers did so most was in Spanish. The stop at the village was a waste would have been better served to have the extra time at Tigre peir.

OK....a good trip to see something beside the big city....but nothing special out there in Tigre!

I really enjoyed the commentary provided by the guides on this tour. Out of season, Tigre itself wasn't all that interesting. If you're going when the weather's warm, this might be a more worthwhile trip because you'll be surrounded by people. The lunch provided was excellent and in a very nice restaurant. Again, I can't fault the tour.

beautiful area of argentina, extremely different from the capital even though it is a short distant from it. if you have the time and would like to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city then its an easy trip to be on.

This was a great tour - I really enjoyed getting out of downtown and seeing a different part of the city. I highly recommend doing the full-day version of this tour, because you get an excellent lunch and a nice relaxing boat ride back to downtown at the end of the day.

Commuter train ride to Tigre is nothing to speak of....quick trip...not much to see. Tigre is an outdoor shopping/eating mall reminiscent of any seaside spot in the U.S. Very sterile. Nothing to recommend this. In contrast, the boat ride up Parna River was enjoyable fun thing to do, especially on a hot day. It was very interesting to see how people live alongside the river. The guide for the Tigre trip was fine---nothng great. The guide who gave the tour on the Parna River was very good. This is a good trip to day if you have extra days in Buenos Aires....but would opt for frip to Colonia; an extra day in Buenos Aires, or the gaucha day trip over this.

tried to do too much, too long stay at shopping area. no seats on the train and no seats on the boat. crew on boat did a nice job. could not hear narrative on boat. English translation very limited.

The train ride in crowded cars is just half of the Tren de la Costa line. The stop at San Isidro without interest except for the cathedral. Boat ride up and down for one hour "on the ParanĂ¡ River" shows only houses and hotels. Best part of this tour was lunch at the end after a long bus ride back to Puerto Madero.

This was a pleasant half day trip. The bus does not take you back to your hotel, but stops at several central places. You may want to schedule this trip after you have had a few days to familiarize yourself with Buenos Aires.

The tour showed a different part of BA. Time was wasted at the end of the train trip. There was no commentary outside on the boat trip. I did not receive a lunch voucher which I had paid for, but this was sorted out as the Viator voucher stated lunch included. Only 3 took lunch. Contary to expectations, after lunch transferred to hotel.

A nice way to see something outside the city of Buenos Aires. A concise afternoon tour, beautiful scenery, a fun train ride, a picturesque boat ride that shows how some people live in the area, all quite professionally offered.

A very short rail trip with no explanation of what you are seeing. Tigre is very commercial and the boat ride was a joke unless you like viewing vacation homes and hotels. The agency was completely unresponsive and we didn't know if we were going or to be left behind. Much to Viator's credit a phone call seemed to fix things. Avoid this tour!

Not much going on on this tour, the Tigre isn't really exciting, it's just modern houses on islands. The mall is not worth going to and you can not see the President's house, just the wall. Nice to get out of the city though and our guide was very nice.

Totally worth it! Argentina as a country is ok but thank god for Viator tours. We were picked up on time and had a blast! The train ride was my favorite. The food was beyond amazing! It was in the rich side of Buenos Aires called Puerto Madero. Totally worth it!
