Get your morning off to a flying start when you take the plunge and feel the rush of freefalling through the air on a Cairns skydiving adventure. Combine your morning sky dive with a spectacular scenic 30-minute helicopter tour to the reef. Finish your day snorkeling and exploring the magnificent Great Barrier Reef before cruising back to Cairns with a glass of wine in hand.

Arriving at the skydive site, you will be briefed for your skydive. You'll board a Cresco 750, Australia's fastest skydive plane, and soar to your jump height. From 11,000 feet (3048 meters) you will jump from the plane for 30 seconds of freefall, before your instructor releases the chute. There is no better way to enjoy unobstructed, uncrowded views of Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef. This is a tandem skydive, no experience necessary!

With the adrenalin still pumping, head to the heliport for a 30-minute scenic flight over the Great Barrier Reef. There's no better way to see the vast scope of this amazing ecosystem, which can be seen from space. You've seen the reef from above, now its time to see beneath the surface. Land at an exclusive pontoon at North Hastings Reef and spend the afternoon snorkeling in the world famous Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Swim amongst colorful schools of tropical fish and an amazing array of coral formations. Snorkel instructors are on hand to help you out and all snorkeling equipment is provided.

If you prefer not to get wet, you can take an informative glass-bottom boat tour to see and learn about the delicate coral reef ecosystem. Divers are not forgotten either with scuba diving available for both beginners and experienced divers at an additional cost.

You'll have around two hours to enjoy the underwater activities and a tropical buffet lunch is served on the boat. As your day draws to a close, enjoy a complimentary glass of wine on the cruise back to Cairns where transport to your hotel awaits.

Poor coordination makes this an inefficient trip. Our sky dive group was the last to arrive at the airport. It was noon before we were taken to the helicopter hanger. Again, we waited until two other couples arrived before the helicopter lifted off. It was nearly 2 p.m. when we arrived at the snorkeling cruise ship. We had less than two hours on the ship before it began the cruise back to Cairns. Rather than a buffet lunch, we were served ready made plates of leftovers. Even this was not given to us until after 3 p.m. There was approximately one hour to snorkel. There was no time to scuba dive or participate in the submarine cruise around the reef. Hurry up and wait with very little time to enjoy was the theme of the day.

A bit of a rushed day. The sky diving was great! Everyone was really friendly. The views from the helicopter were amazing, but by the time we got to the boat for the scuba diving there was little more than a hour before the boat sailed back. I also found that after the sky diving my ears would not equalise properly so the scuba diving was uncomfortable. The information about my trip was limited as each activity and hotel transfer is with a different company, but they all tried hard to get me where I needed to be. Might be better to spread the activities over two days.
