The Sound and Light Show at the Great Pyramids takes place on the Giza plateau, around 30 minutes from Cairo. The one-hour show begins with the illumination of the Sphinx, who narrates the history of the pyramids and their builders.

Using laser beams and light projections on the walls of the Mummification Temple, desert sands, pyramid walls and the Sphinx itself, a condensed story of Egypt unfolds. The accompanying soundtrack complements the surroundings and the voice of the Sphinx is suitably dramatic and mysterious!

After the show your driver/guide will meet you at the gates of the complex to escort you back to your hotel. With your own private transportation on this tour, you will travel directly between your hotel and the Sound and Light Show without stopping to collect other passengers.

The Sound and Light show is indescribable! We loved Memdough our contact from South Sinai Travel. He was so sweet and caring. Our driver Joseph was very patient and willingly stopped for pictures.

This was simply a pick up and drop off at the Pyramids. We were picked up by Nour and Suleiman on time, our tickets were presented at the gate, and we attended a great show, after which we were met at the exit and taken to the hotel.

I was extorted. I was told i owed another $40.00. They would not take me until I paid them and that the $40.00 was a tip for them. Could not enjoy the rest of the night. I would warn everyone i know to avoid this company.

a must see. about 45 minutes long. outside at night with lights on the Sphinx and pyramids and a narration. check language days. you can also get language head sets. it is about 45 minutes outside of downtown Cairo; you can taxi it but it is better to take the tour as they will promptly pick you up at your hotel and the price difference is minimal, it is safer and you ride in comfort.

I couldn't reach the company by phone. My Egyptian guide also couldn't, but he knew someone who knew the company and I was told what time I would be picked up. All went very well with the tour. My guide was excellent. A note was left by the company at my hotel but since I was on a guided tour the hotel couldn't find my reservation.

A different and unique way to see the pyramids, we were escorted to the front of the queue and shown where the best viewpoint was, It can get quite cold ( Feb) so bring a coat. Recording the images on camcorder was tricky given the seating isnt raked and the laser images dont transfwer too well, overall worth while though.

DO NOT TAKE THIS TOUR with this company. All they want to do is get as much money out of you as humanly possible. They'll even set it up so that they take you to their friends/families' shops to trap you into buying stuff when they tell you you're going to the bathroom. If you don't believe us, take the tour. When you end up at a carpet factory and a paparus shop, then you'll see we're telling you the truth. These people are unbelieveable! Given the very crappy service they provided, they'll tell you that you NEED (not should) give them VERY LARGE TIP as this is expected given they only work off of tips! They complained that the company pays them too little to live on. As if we had the word "Idiots" written on our foreheads!! Also, be mindful if you're female. They are very demeaning toward women. It may just be cultural (of Egyptians), but either way, it's not pleasant at all. This tour guide made it such an unpleasant experience, we don't recommend anyone visiting Eygpt in general. Honestly, this is the worst place in the world we have ever visited, and we are very well-traveled.

The rating has nothing to do with either the presentation or the staff of Viator rather it was the over enthusiasm of the staff of the Light Show who wanted to clear the area in two minutes; not giving even a minute to saviour the experience.

Seeing the Pyramids light up different colours and watching the laser show is amazing. They really are breath-taking. The only annoying feature is the voice of the narrator who seemed to give his delievery of the history of the pyramids in his best 'shakesperian' voice. it would be more authentic if Omar shareef or some other middle eastern actor had done it, after all this is Egypt not bloody Hampshire !! It is a must see, I went on my first night in Cairo, our tour guide picked us up from the hotel lobby, put us in air-con car and did not leave our side until we were in the venue, and did exactly the same on the way home. Single travellers would find this service valuable. The whole event was Brillant !!

You have to do the Pyramids sound and light show if you're a tourist in Cairo, but from where we were staying it was a long way to drive for just the 1-hour show.

Essentially a taxi service as the guide doesn't enter the show with you but a great way of beating the queues at the ticket line and ensuring a door to door quality taxi service.

The guide and the driver were excellent. We booked 2 excursions and transfers to and from the airport, and everything was superb. The only gripe I would have is that I tried to call the agent to advise that we had a 4 hour delay, but only managed to make contact as we were boarding the flight 4 hours later. The voucher advised that we had to inform the agent if the flight time had changed, but the poor guide had to sit at the airport until we arrived having absolutely no idea! All said and done, it didn't ruin the holiday, and the 2 trips booked were excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Despite some initial difficulties in getting in touch with the local agent to confirm the trip I ultimately had to use the emergency contact numbers, the operator was excellent in terms of both the arrangements, flexibility & the transport. The Sound & Light Show itself was excellently staged & superbly atmospheric. I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone spending an evening in Cairo.

As per the other reviews - the show is worth seeing early as it does tie together some aspects of the 'story'. We were picked up and dropped off on time, although picking up a 'work colleague' on the way home was inconvenient. They could have at least told us beforehand.

The Pyramid Sound and Light Show was too cool. Was picked up at the hotel lobby, arrived on time. I sat in an upgraded section I payed 50 EGP with all the drinks I wanted. It was a super evening.
