This may be the most fun you'll ever have in Cancun! Two people are assigned to a speedboat and a total of 10 in each group are led by a guide.

The vehicles set off from the marina across the expanse of the Nichupte lagoon and through the dense mangroves, to the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea.

Here, in one of the largest reefs in the Western Hemisphere, you'll stop for about 45 minutes to relax or snorkel amidst the colorful tropical fish, coral and sea plants.

The water was too rough and the steering wheel was so loose I thought it would come off in the turbulent water. After snorkeling it was very cold riding back. There was no warning about this.

The staff was very helpful and courteous. The boat ride was fun and the boat ran well. The snorkeling was enjoyable we saw lots of fish and coral. One of the guides realized that I was trying to take underwater pictures and pulled me to good spots where I could photograph fish and coral. When it was time to get back in the boats I was worried because I have bad knees and was afraid I would have trouble re-entering the boat. This was no problem because the two guides reached down, grabbed my life jacket and pulled me in with no problem at all. I am not a lightweight, so this was impressive. My husband and I truly enjoyed the trip.

Overall, the trip was okay. Not what I was expecting but worth checking out. The boat ride itself was kind of neat being out in the middle of the ocean but the snorkeling time was too short to really get to explore. Also, the reef we went to didn't have many fish or anything.

My husband and I had a great time! It was fun being in our own boat and the snorkeling was awesome. We had a few people in our group that didn't know how to swim and our guide did a terrific job helping them to overcome their fear and they were all able to enjoy the snorkeling after all.

This excursion was wicked, riding through the waves on your own speedboat, great experience!!!!! And then the snorkeling that was amazing, saw loads of fish!! Great time, a must whilst holidaying in Mexico.

We loved the boat ride. The reef was not colorful at all and there were not that many fish, but this was our first time snorkeling, so we loved the experience anyway.

Lots of fun but one caveat. Our snorkel expedition was canceled due to high surf and they said they could not refund but only reschedule. Thankfully we were staying one more day and were able reschedule -- the snorkeling and boating was great the next day.
