Ferry to St Tropez from Nice

Nice, France

If you're looking to spend a day in glamorous St Tropez, there's no more enjoyable way to start your journey than on a boat ride from Nice. Admire the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea and the shoreline of the French Riviera as you cruise along the coast. Spend the day however you wish in St Tropez, a seaside town known for its celebrity visitors, picturesque village, boutiques, cafés and luxury yachts that has managed to keep most of its Provençal authenticity.

Jump aboard a boat from Nice to the renowned village of St Tropez, a fabulous destination if you're looking to see more of the French Riviera. As you relax on the boat ride, enjoy the views of the Mediterranean coast from the water.

The ferry crossing is approximately 2.5 hours from Nice, and then you'll have the rest of the day to explore St Tropez. Shop the fashion boutiques or browse the provincial markets, held on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Enjoy a meal and a glass of wine at a side-walk café. Or stroll through the port, marvelling at the sleek, million-dollar yachts.

When your day is over, just bring your tired feet back to the boat for the relaxing journey back to Nice.

It's beautiful but the sea was a bit rough. A nice market to explore as well if you go on Tuesday.

Booked the trip onine. Everything went to plan, ferry departure point easily found, crew pleasant although difficult to understand the English explanation of the points of interest from the boat. Otherwise an excellent day out.

St Tropez was a disappointment. We wanted to visit the most hyped about beach at St Tropez. But it was difficult to locate the bus stop. The frequency of the bus is every one hour. The beach wasn't as fantastic. Maybe we didn't have time to explore further because we have to catch the bus back to harbour to catch the ferry back to NICE. Drinks and food are very expensive. So ended up eating chips and gelato.

Enjoyable trip, boat was nice & adequate for yourney & safety brief was given. Only minus was having to stand on quai for ages waiting for boat to comes late from Nice. No seating provided on quai. Young guy giving English & French commentary onboard was enjoyable, entertaining & personable, an ideal guy for the job. Wasn't always obvious which celebrities house he was pointing out as we entered St Tropez harbour.

The voyage itself was very good, but the staff at the ticket desk were extremely rude. Also, there were no signposts as to where the boat for St Tropez was leaving from. In fact there were only signs for the Lerin Islands. This needs to be addressed, particularly as myself and plenty of other passengers spent a lot of time with a heavy bag searching. The return boat to Cannes from St Tropez is too early and does not leave very much time - only around four hours, as a result I did not use the return part of my booking but came home with a friend the following day.

We did enjoy the cruise. The return boat was disorganized and we were lucky that somebody did not get hurt. The pushing and shoving was not needed if your people had organized the getting back on board the boat. All they needed was to get off the boat and help get people in line.

Absolutely fantastic, remember to take your swimsuit with you to go swimming as it was hot the day we went and chilling out on the beach was the best place to be in St Tropez.

This is a good way to get to St. Tropez. Bring you bikini and towel so you can sit at the beach all day. You get about 5 hours of free time. I didn't bring my stuff for the beach, but filled in the time shopping at the many shops on St. Tropez.

Our flight was delayed by 1 hour 30 minutes, which meant we got to our hotel later than expected. The reception at the hotel rang the cruise people as requested. However when we got there the next day, they had no record of our booking. Fortunately I had my copy of the booking with me, but there was no booking listed and the woman said there had been no phone call from the Corona Hotel.

I found that the trip was little more than a ferry service. Yes, there was some commentary, but the boat travels so far away from shore that viewing the small villages from a far was a bit disappointing. Also ,the way you line up for the boat, was a bit of a free for all. No designated ropes or line up area caused shoving, people cutting in line. As a ferry service it was fine. Boat left on time, it was a smooth ride, comfortable ship. But for the price we paid I would hardly call it a cruise.

A great trip on a lovely day. The coastline is beautiful all the way along, and St. Tropez is certainly worth a visit for a lovely lunch and relaxing at a harbourside bar. Many people took beach things, and that might be a good idea as St. Tropez is very small, and it might be difficult to fill the full day otherwise - unless you have lots of money to spend in the lovely shops! I believe the beach is some distance away, though.

The cruise itself was lovely, a fantastic boat and really well organised. However we did not actually enjoy St Tropez itself that much as it was very very crowded and we felt overpriced. That said, it is definitely worth seeing.

The staff on board were extremely friendly, but unfortunately the trip was still not enjoyable. We boarded at Nice, by the stop in Cannes the boat is very very packed. No room to sit, I was away with my mother, grandmother, great aunt and son. Just before boarding to return home in Nice my elderly great aunt had a fall in the queue through the rush of people trying to board first, and people still just pushed passed her. There is no orderly queue and no preference for elderly people or mothers with small kids and buggys to board first which means you are stuck being pushed over and elbowed etc. While the young people push pass you then when you do get on there is nowhere for mothers with kids or elderly people to sit. Also the time you have in St.Tropez is nowhere near enough to see it, what we got to see in the time we had was not nice,. My son could not even play in the sand on the beach because it was so dirty with rubbish and smoke butts. Overall very un-enjoyable and would not be recommending it to anyone, but I will say once more that despite all this the staff are lovely and very helpful and friendly.

A really great trip and on the way out some dolphins were spotted so the boat circled for everyone to get a good view. Only down side was that none of the announcements were in English.
