St Lucia Catamaran Day Sail

St Lucia Catamaran Day Sail

Castries, Saint Lucia

Spend the day sailing aboard a beautiful catamaran along the tropical west coast of St. Lucia. Go ashore to see the island's landmark, the Pitons, soaring over 2,000 feet (600 meters) in the air. Visit the Diamond Botanical Gardens and explore the natural beauty of the waterfalls before heading to the Sulphur Springs inside the Caribbean's only drive-in volcano. You'll also have time to relax and swim in the warm tropical water.

Disembark at the magical town of Soufriere and explore two of the island's most spectacular natural attractions. View the majestic Pitons on your way to the Caribbean's only drive-in volcano, the Sulphur Springs.

Continue onto a plantation estate where you'll enjoy a leisurely walk along trails complete with tropical flora and fauna. Stop at a local copra house where you'll see how a coconut is dried and processed into oil, margarine and soap. You'll have the opportunity to taste the locally grown cocoa pods even before they are turned into delicious chocolate bars! Afterwards, a tasty Creole-styled buffet lunch awaits you at a local restaurant.

Rejoin the boat for a sail up along the coastline with a stop for swimming and snorkeling. Sail into beautiful Marigot Bay where the original Dr. Doolittle movie was filmed, before returning to the dock and heading back to your North Island hotel.

My girlfriend of 5 years and I took this trip on Valentine's day, ironically, in 2012. This trip was an excellent value for the money. The sailing was beautiful. The open bar and the fresh bananas were great. The lunch at Fond Deux in the Cocoa Plantation was great and full of local dishes tor try along with more conservative chicken and fish dishes, which were also excellent/. The lesson in how they process cocoa was fascinating. The trip to the botanical gardens was informative and beautiful. The Diamond falls were beautiful and we learned how the different minerals make the water change color. The drive in volcano is a fascinating step back in history and amazing to see and consider.,The snorkel stop was fun. Marigot Bay was beautiful. The captain and crew were great people. If you like to have fun, laugh. socialize, see breathtakingly beautiful things, and learn a bit too, (and maybe drink a bit if you like), this trip is a must do, hands down.

The trip did not start well as for some reason they did not send a boat in to pick us up or organise a local taxi to take us to the boat as they could not get aparently with the sails._br/_ So it was at least a hour or more late._br/_ Once we got on the boat we cannot fault the trip as it was marvelleous and you packed everything in and more that anyone could wish for. The lunch was very very good._br/_ Kind Regards_br/_ Mary and Mick

the boat never came in to pick us up as promised. we had to make many calls to get them back and get a dinghy to the catamaran._br/_ also was not starting the tour until 11 AM and not 8 as advertised.

Taxi was half an hour late picking us up on the way out and on the way back. Trip itself was good fun. Avoid the "rum" punch though - pretty sure it wasn't rum!!

A full day for excellent value. The catamaran was so clean, and service was great. The volcano was really cool and the gardens were beautiful; nice to get history and fun in one day!

Fun trip in the end but not worth the trouble of booking through Viator. It would have been easier and cost the same to just book through a tour company on the island.

Nice trip overall, you get to see the whole island in half the time. The only thing, the sail was way too long. Was about 2 1/2 hrs each way. We visited the cocoa plantation which was very interesting, the Pitons, and drive in volcano with an informative guide and sulpher springs . We did not visit the Botanical Garden as advertised or the waterfalls.. The sail through Marigot Bay was a real wast of time, really nothing to see. The buffet was DELICIOUS! The unlimited soft drinks, beer, water and rum punch on the sail was great! Overall a great way to experience St. Lucia and its landmarks. Would recommend for anyone while you're here!

It was my friends 50th Birthday, and we had a very big boat. it was overcrowded, but the atmosphere was good. We had soft drink going but on the way back Rum Punch was flowing and beers... There was also a drinking competion for the male and females on the boat. Overall we enjoyed ourselves as we went to the Sulphur volcanios and also the Botanical Gardens. Well done Viator

I will keep it short. Although the Island is absolutely beautiful, this "trip" is not worth it. Everything you read is not what you will get.

A perfect day! It was fun all day long with a friendly crew, local rum drinks, baby bananas for snacks and of course the amazing views! The land excursion portion was fun and educational. We loved the botanical gardens and buffet lunch. Just be sure to bring your own snorkeling equipment (we didn't know) and fyi you don't get to get into the sulfur springs. Overall, we were very pleased with our trip on the Endless Summer!!

The trip wasn't that great, too much like a school trip! Lunch wasn't that nice, food was average and they made you go up table by table, then they were dishing out the food like you're on rations, and even they ran out of things. While they went to go get more food, what you had on your plate went cold! Had to ask repeatedly for water and dessert! The tours around the botanical gardens etc. weren't that great either; again, herded around like school children on a field trip. The sailing was nice though but in my opinion, for what you pay, it isn't worth it.

The Catamaran Day Sail was a great way to see the west coast of St. Lucia. Words hardly describe the breathtaking beauty of this country. The Day Sail gave us the opportunity to visit the Tropical Diamond Waterfall, the Drive-in Volcano and a chocolate plantation. It is here we had a buffet lunch which was quite tasty. On the way back we visited Marigot Bay and stopped to swim and snorkel. It was a very enjoyable day.

A really enjoyable day which provided real value for money. The staff/crew on the catamaran where all very friendly and kept the rum punch flowing all day! The excursions off the boat were all interesting, and lunch at the plantation was really nice. Would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone...

Overall the trip was very nice. There should be a disclaimer that this trip is not an activity for very young children. There was a couple who brought a toddler with them. The tours are pretty fast paced and except for 40 minutes on the beach probably not "fun" for small children.

The catamaran day sail was wonderful! We took a very soothing catamaran ride into Sofriere where we took the land tour into the drive in volcano. Please be aware: this is a drive in volcano - not a drive through volcano. I guess in my over processed culture I just thought it was drive through, but you do have to leave the bus and take a tour with a guide along the edge of the volcano. I got some outstanding photos, so please be sure you have your camera. We also toured the plantation and I've read some rotten reviews about the buffet and I can tell you we did not have that experience. Everyone at the plantation was charming, the views were spectacular, the gift shop has the best locally harvested items at the best price and the food was good. Overall, I would highly recommend this tour just do not expect to be picked up on time at your hotel. We found most excursions were running about 20 to 30 minutes late including this one.

If you only have one day on St Lucia, this is THE trip to take. A lovely sail, the volcano, botanical gardens, lunch, everything was wonderful. Snorkeling was my only issue- it is NOT possible to enjoy snorkeling with out fins! I got a friction burn on my arm from swimming so much with the required snorkel vest. Please invest in fins for your next guests, or if you are a guest, bring your own, its so much nicer. I would with out a doubt take this trip again, but as an avid free diver and snorkeler was very disappointed about the lack of fins. The staff were nice, always smiling and informative of the islands surroundings.

We just returned from our honeymoon in St. Lucia. One of the highlights of our two weeks there was our full day Catamaran sail. The catamaran was by far the best one of those to choose from on the water, it was clean sleek and fast. The staff and choice of lunch was exceptional as well as complimentary drinks all the day long. I would most definitely recommend this to anyone and would book again on my next trip! Jen from Aspen

We spent our honeymoon at the Sandals Regency on St. Lucia. One of our excursions was the St. Lucia Catamaran Day Sail through Viator. The trip included a van service from our hotel to the Windjammer resort about an hour with traffic and 2 other hotel stops. We started our trip with a 2 hour sail to the city of Soufriere. The trip was mainly powered by engines, but the captain did stop for an all out sail which was lovely. He turned off all of the music so that we could hear the sails and the breeze. After we arrived at the dock in Soufriere, we toured the volcano, the waterfalls, and lunch at a cocoa plantation. All were absolutely beautiful and our buffet lunch was delicious. 3 hours later, we were back on our boat and headed North. We stopped for a 45 minute swim-snorkel break before returning to Castries. We learned from other guests at the hotel that the day sail trip hit a lot of the same tour stops as the jeep tours, so we would recommend doing one or the other sail or jeep. Our preference is always to sail. Overall, it was a great trip. The crew and captain were very hospitable and entertaining. We would definitely recommend this package to anyone traveling to St. Lucia that wants to see the island without renting a car. Thank you to the "Endless Summer" and her crew!

Loved the trip, very well organized. Tour leaders were very good. Only thing I thought was poor was the "Bay of Pigs" we stopped to snorkel in. Too crowded, water not clean, too many vendors, not even good snorkeling. Otherwise a fun trip.

The catamaran sail was amazing! My only complaint is that it was supposed to have also included a stop at the botanical gardens to see the Diamond Waterfalls and I was so disappointed we didn't stop there. I would highly recommend this but make sure they take you everywhere that you have paid for to go!

Not enough food for everyone's appetite since we ate late. Really disappointed that snorkeling was not included - had to pay extra for it. Very unhappy that they rescheduled. Our trip was booked for Dec 30. On Dec 28, I confirmed. On Dec 29 they said it was rescheduled to Dec 31. We ended up getting back to the hotel past our dinner reservation and could not stay awake until midnight.

A great way to see the highlights of St. Lucia, cheaper than trying to do it on your own and you get to see the wonders of St. Lucia, a totally different and better experience than trying to navigate the island by car and a lot safer.

We had a super time on the catamaran trip! The staff and tour guides were great! The rain forest and waterfall were beautiful! We hit some bad weather on the way back, so it took a very long time over very choppy waters, but that's not their fault. The tour buses in Soufriere were not air conditioned and the lunch was average. It was 10-20 cheaper through Viator than the travel agent.

This was a brilliant couple's day out with one of the most enigmatic captains I've ever seen! Be prepared for a very loud reggae party music and lots of boozing for much of the night! The staff are great, the snorkeling is great, and the volcano and garden visits are just about the right length, there is not too much hanging about at either one. One warning though: don't expect too much from the lunch in the restaurant, it was pretty basic.

This tour was a great way to see the coast, the town of the Soufriere, the sulpher springs and the Diamond Botanical Gardens, which were all very interesting. Although the trip was advertised as a quiet sailing trip, it is actually very crowded with about 70 people on the boat, loud 90 minute booze cruise. The snorkeling experience was also very crowded as there were 3 other tour boats in the area so in all there were approximately 150 people snorkeling in the same spot.
