Gibraltar Sightseeing Day Trip from Costa del Sol

Cross the border from Spain into British territory, where you can see British policemen, spend British money and enjoy the duty free shopping. Enjoy a tour of the city and Punta Europa, followed by a minibus tour to the top of the famous Rock of Gibraltar itself, where you can take in the views of the Spanish and Moroccan coastlines.

While on the rock you will visit the Saint Michael caves, a dramatic natural grotto sometimes used as a venue for concerts and classical music performances.

There will also be time to meet the locals - the semi wild troop of Barbary "Apes" (they are actually Barbary macaque monkeys). It is said the British will not leave Gibraltar until the apes have left. Hang on to your belongings though, they are cheeky little monkeys!

Descending from the Rock, you have free time for shopping in the main street, where everything is sold from the latest designer fashions to what is probably the best known 100 percent cotton underwear in the world!

Disappointing from the getgo. No maps were distributed as a courtesy, we wasted almost 30 minuted for the "agreed upon" meeting time for the minibus driver, she actually came 25 minuted AFTER that!!! This is an enormous amount of time to waste if you only have a few hours to start with, Then the biggest issue was that the shops close at 2:30 pm on Saturday!!! NOBODY AT VIATOR bothered to tell us that!!!!!! I think that was pretty unforgivable!!

the only thing we would change is the time spent on the bus versus time allotted to the tour._br/_ We would find a way to spend more proportional time on the tour. We spent as much time getting to tan d from Gibraltar from Malaga, as we were allotted on the tour of Gibraltar._br/_ The tour was excellent and our guide made it very enjoyable._br/_ We recommend finding a less time consuming way to join the tour, than the bus, which makes many stops as it fills with tourists.

Good way to enter Gibraltar. It was raining but we still had a great time. Shopping is over-rated. Make sure you purchase the "Rock Tour" because that is the way to see and learn about this facinating place. Loved the monkeys.

It was an interesting trip and the local Gibraltar guide was well polished and excellent, I certainly feel we saw a lot more than if we had made the trip independently. My only criticism is that all the information lead us to believe that there would only be two pick up points for clients so after traveling 4 miles to the nearest to then find an extra hour was added to coach ride by visiting 8 additional pick up locations was some what frustrating.

We really enjoyed this day trip from the Costa del Sol. The tour guide in Gibraltar was fantastic and funny and made the trip enjoyable. He showed us lots of interesting places and told us alot about the history of Gibraltar. He was very knowledgable. The trip itslef was just right and not too long. Thank you so much. Good trip. Great guide. We were a bit rushed while having to wait for a few people late for the bus so the start of the trip was delayed. Very organized. Gibralter just OK.

I was not pleased with the amount of time spent on the bus to stop at different locations to pick up two people including my husband and I. We spent more time on the bus then the tour of Gibraltar. We were given a few choices of things to see and not enough time to enjoy all that Gibraltar had to offer. I would not recommend your tour to anyone.

I thought the tour itself was worth doing, however, my complaint is that we were at the designated pickup time when we supposed to be there and waited about 20 minutes and the bus did not come. I tried called the local travel agent number and the emergency number but no answer. We then decided to walk back to the hotel and the girl at the desk called and they told her they were running late, so we ran back--I am not as young as I used to be--and the bus was waiting for us. Why is there not a phone attendant on the weekend (Sat)? This would have solved the problem. What is the emergency number for?_br/_ Also, I called one day (ahead of time) to verify my trip and they lady couldn't speak English so she just hung up on me! Wow!

On our travel date the bus never showed up! Again!! Finally, after re-scheduling and waiting another 2 hours for the bus we got it!! The tour guide was extremely rude blaming us for the bus being 2 hours late!! Luckily the monkeys made up for it.

I was disappointed that we didn't actually get to the top of the rock, just up to the cavern--which was pretty high up. Maybe I didn't read the trip description carefully. Going to and from Gib was by large bus. Picking up people along the way. Little effort by guide to provide information about "sights" along the way or introduce guests to each other. Trip up the rock was by smaller passenger van. Driver was a local with a friendly personality and full of information and history about Gib.

I would not book with this tour company again. Firstly the coach was over 30 mins late picking us up and the tour guide did not even have the decency to apologise, he just shrugged his shoulders when I asked why the coach was so late. I was the last pick up so when boarding the coach there was insufficient seating for all the passengers. I could not sit next to my partner as there were not two seats together and someone was even sitting on the step at the back of the coach. After only being on the coach for 10 mins we stopped for a 20 minute break on a motor way service station as some of the passengers had already been on the coach for over two hours already. We finally arrived in Gibraltar at 12.15pm. After a bit of confusion we were split up into smaller groups and boarded another minibus for the tour of the rock itslef. This part of the tour was interesting and informative and the mini bus driver was excellent with his knowledge however it did not include a tour of the tunnels or a trip on the cable car.

Paid an extra 30 euro cash for The Tunnels to our tour guide and it was closed, but guide was not willing to refund our money. We had to go to the office in Malaga for the refund. We were very unhappy about having to get the refund from the office. The local tour guide for Gibraltar was very good.

Our bus was full and very noisy with teenagers so we had trouble hearing the guide.I would suggest much smaller groups.Ours had about 40.Our pickup time was changed at the last minute by more than an hour.Luckily we checked the day before.Basically there´s only shopping after you see the monkeys.A long day

I booked very last minute at the end of March 2011 and was picked up right at my hotel door in Fuengirola. We were broken down into smaller groups into minivans. Our British guide/driver was hilarious. I thought Gibraltar was well worth seeing for a day trip although it may have been a bit pricey as others say they booked through their hotels for less? But I was very satisfied with the trip.

An interesting excursion but the wartime tunnels should be included as part of the tour. "Shopping time" could be reduced for those of whom this is not the primary purpose of the trip.

This is an amazing part of the world. We had a really great guide on the bus ride and the local guide in Gibraltar was also great. The views from the Rock are forever locked in my mind. The monkeys were unbelievable.

The entire trip was a pleasure! Very efficient and well-organized, no complaints. The trip around the island was extremely interesting and our bus driver/tour guide was hilariously funny while being informative. We saw everything worth seeing and got to see the apes up close. Free time after the tour to wander down the main shopping street to buy duty-free or soak up the atmosphere. Brilliant.

Same problems as Morrocco tours. In addition: Took too much time to pick up passengers along the route, spend 4 hours going and 4 hours coming back. As a result, not much time left in Gibraltar itself. Also, no bathrooms and not sufficient bathroom stops. Will not take this tour again. Next time, I will either rent a car, or take a direct bus tour or limo service without stops. Guide could not speak English, was rude and short tempered. Althoug Gibraltar was very interesting, I will try and book directly through Gibrlatar with a better service.

The trip was great, no delays, everything exactly like in the schedule. Lovely guide in the mini bus for the rock tour. Not much time left for walking around the city by myself, but the trip was interesting anyway. I will go there again one day!

was a very good trip. Only one problem when we rang the day before our trip to confirm we were told to be at the pick up spot at 8.45. But in fact we needed to be there at 10.00 am also we was told we picked the coach up outside out hotel but again we had to be at a bus stop a 10min walk away. other than that is was great

To begin with, our guide Angel was great. Spoke english fluently, was very friendly and made sure we were comfortable throughout the hike. Since we were the only tourists it became a personal tour and we could walk at our own pace. The place itself is beautiful and i couldnt stop taking pictures. A must see for people who are on the lookout for adventure and the beauty of nature. I would definitely recommend this tour.
