Travel by 4WD across the deserts of Dubai on an afternoon excursion that takes you sandboarding on the sands and dining under the stars. Heading into the desert is a must-do experience when you're visiting Dubai.

Zipping along by 4WD, you'll have several photo stops during an exciting drive across the dunes to your first destination, a camel farm. The drive continues across the desert and you will witness a beautiful desert sunset. It's one of the highlights of a trip to the Arabian desert.

Upon arrival at your campsite, you have the opportunity to ride on a camel, experience the thrill of sandboarding and try out a henna design on your hands or feet.

After all that activity you will have worked up an appetite, so enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner and a shisha (the famous Arabic water pipe). The evening also includes a belly dancer performing her show around the campfire in the moonlight (except during Ramadan).

Excellent experience overall. Our driver, Ayman (or Iman?) was prompt, friendly, and an excellent dunes driver -- he pushed my rating from 3 to 4 stars. I was not thrilled with the photography staff which turned kind of rude when I did not buy the cd rom/dvd package. The food was decent, the camp clean and quaint, and other activities were interesting enough.

This trip was the highlight of our time away in Paris London and Dubai. I took my 13 year old daughter and she agreed this 4 wheel drive adventure was like a 60 minute roller coaster ride. It finished up at a camp looking out over the dunes. Just delightful.

Great tour package - one of the best. Hospitality, service, camp setting, and food was excellent. Really enjoyed everything that was included in the tour. I wish we had a little bit more time after dinner to relax and enjoy the dessert sky before heading back.

What a fantastic experience. Our driver 'Mustafa' met us from the cruise ship, we then picked up another couple from a hotel, then we were on our way. Out in the desert the tyres were let down and we were off into the dunes. Mustafa was a very good driver and the dunes are great fun. We stopped for photo breaks then made our way to the camel farm for more photos. We then drove to the camp where we were to spend the evening. We are in our 60's but had a great time. So much was included in the price, camel ride, henna tattoo, even sandboarding - which we declined but looked like great fun. All this followed by a full on BBQ. Curry, salads lamb, burgers and chicken as much as you wanted. Thank you for a great evening. It was the best day of our cruise.

This was probably the best tour we had. The whole experience was awsome. The only negative I could say was the the rear seats on the 4X4 did not have enough leg room or seats were not high enough for the legs. Other than that a great experience.

Huge disappointment with our guide. He was totally disinterested in explaining anything whilst we were on the tour which lasted over 5.5 hours. He drove us there and back and apart from telling us to where to meet him at the end of the evening he didn't speak again!

Very nice all round trip. Got picked up from hotel on the said time and dropped on time. BBQ dinner was perfect, but desserts were missing. Be prepared to bring back sands in your shoes. Trip included camel ride, henna tattoo, sheesha smoking, date eating, BBQ, falcon picture taking, sand boarding and dune bashing of corse.

My wife and I went on the Desert Safari on the recommendation of our daughter and i have to say, it was an absolutely superb day. We were picked at exactly the time we were told by our driver George, who really helped make the day special. He was very friendly and informative, pointing out various landmarks etc. on the 45 minute drive out to the desert._br/_ The "dune bashing" was great fun, thanks again to George's excellent driving skills. When we booked the excursion, it did say that their would be food served at the camp in the evening and to be honest, we weren't expecting too much. However, the buffet that was put out was fabulous, with BBQ lamb, beef and chicken as well as salad, potatoes, vegetables, etc. Wine and beer, if you wanted it, was also very reasonably priced compered to other similar tours that we heard about._br/_ We always avoid excersions when we're on holiday because the are usually a bit of a rip-off. However, i think this was one of the best £54 per head we've ever spent! We were picked up at 3 pm, have a great day, and were then dropped back where we started 9 pm._br/_ If you're in Dubai, we would thoroughly recommend this trip and, from what we've heard from other people, you could do a lot worse than book it with Viator. You may be really lucky and get George as your driver.

What amazing value for money. We were picked up from the hotel and drove for about an hour to the meeting point. My boyfriend commented that a taxi in the UK would be more than the cost of the entire package for that trip alone! We met up with the convoy and proceeded to dune bash, with a short stop in the middle. We then went to the camel farm, and then onto the camp. We did the camel ride, and then sand boarded, then had a henna design and at that point we watched the traditional dance in the center of the camp. Dinner was then served which was a selection of salads/pittas/rice/a curry (I think)/beef patty/lamb chops/marinated chicken, and was very nice! Tea and coffee next, along with mini pastries and then a belly dance. At no point in the evening did we think that things were moving too slow and that we wanted to go home. There were flushing toilets too! Our driver took us back to the hotel and we arrived at about 9.30 pm (from 3pm). Brilliant - totally aimed at the tourists, but that is what we were and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Take a sweatshirt/jacket though, it's pretty nippy in the evening!

i think that there is too much rime wasted on this trip. We waited at the hotel for 40 minutes. We had long lapses at the desert camp waiting around. The group was not big so therefore you do not need the time.

This is the best travel experience in Dubai and must go. Very exciting 4x4 car drive on the sand road and also the camel ride. Not forget the belly dance at night and the good BBQ dinner. Excellence!!

The Desert Safari was a great experience overall and I highly recommend it. However, be aware that 4X4 dune riding is the longest activity (almost two hours) as the camel riding and sand surfing do not last very long. I would suggest in the future to increase a bit the time spent for those two activities as well. The barbecue dinner was also great!

The whole event was very well put together, the dune bashing was such fun with my 7yr old giggling with delight, great food & entertainment, camel rides & sand boarding.
