Departing Dubai in the afternoon, you'll take a thrilling drive across the dunes to your first destination, a camel farm. The drive continues across the desert, where you will witness a beautiful desert sunset. This is one of the highlights of a trip to the Arabian deserts, so prepare to be amazed!

Upon arrival at the campsite, you will have the opportunity to ride a camel, go sandboarding and try out a henna design on your hands or feet. Please note: the afternoon and evening activities at the campsite may be shared with other travelers.

Next, you'll enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner and a shisha (the famous Arabic water pipe). The evening also includes a belly dancer performing her show around the campfire under the stars.

This particular piece (Desert Safari) was simply out standing. Arrangements were better than expected. We had a Hummer to drive back and forth. The driver was very courteous. His driving skills were of high order. My daughter and her friends, enjoyed this most. Thanks a million. I would recommend Viator to any one!!

Very good tour. The guide was very knowledgeable (he's been doing it for something like 17 years), very friendly and personable. Dune bashing was a lot of fun. Even my teenage daughter who normally doesn't like anything remotely scary enjoyed it. Highly recommend this tour.

After travelling all over Europe for 3 months and doing many Viator Tours this one was FANTASTIC. You must pay the extra for the private tour. While we were relaxed with only 3 of us in our 4WD bashing the sand dunes, others were crammed with 7 passengers in the one car. Our driver clearly gave us a superior experience with more stunts and fun out on the sand. What we also liked is this was not one of those 15 minute jobs - we were on the dunes driving for over an hour with great photo stops. When we got to the camp we did camel rides, smoked the shisha pipe, got henna tattoos etc. Then we had a BBQ dinner ( don't expect too much here ) and were entertained by a belly dancer. This was a very memorable experience, guided by a great driver who picked up and dropped off to our hotel. Buy the DVD to remeber your day in the desert and please pay the extra for the private tour !!!!!

Not really a private tour - about 25 other jeeps in convoy. We were still in the desert scrubland not the full, sand only desert. Having said that it was well organised, the jeep drivers were manic fun in the dunes and the BBQ at then end was fine

My whole family had a great time. Its especially something you want to do as a group. Do not count on the meal to impress you too much though. Dune drivers REALLY know what they are doing and that is a unique experience. The camels and natural surounds are also amazing. The belly dancing is average but it does add to the theme. This i a good summarised tour of what Dubai offers outside their hotels and shopping malls.

Awesome! Cannot describe the unbelievable experience of sitting under dessert skies at a campsite in the middle of the dessert! The thought of dune bashing terrified me and I screamed my head off but it was exhilarating and I would not have missed it for the world. Our driver was fantastic, he started slowly as he knew I was apprehensive and kept asking me if I was ok before speeding up and continuing, a real gentleman. The barbeque was great and the belly dancer certainly entertained and included half the audience at some point! Sand boarding, camel riding and sand art all added to the fun. Definitely recommend this to anyone, especially do the private tour and the quad biking is a must for any youngsters or avid thrill seekers. Only drawback was the heat was approx 49C which made quad biking too hot for comfort! Other than that don't come to Duabi without doing this tour! Saw other tours doing dune bashing by the roadside whereas this is in the heart of the dessert at a cosy campsite and provides an awesome experience with a very caring operator.

There were three of us on the tour, we added 1 hour quads to the experience and we were told by our driver the office had only booked 2 quads so our time had been reduced to 40 mins. The dune bashing only lasted 10 mins because we had added the quads to the tour! Very disappointed!

The package as a whole loses the star due to the dune buggying. Firstly I would like to point out that it in actually quad biking and secondly you do not get a full half hour if you choose that option, if there are two of you you get 15 minutes each, if there are four then two half hour tickets are split between all of you. Following this the dune driving was somewhat lacking following previous experience and dune board was poor with bad quality kit. The experience was nearly bounced up by the evenings programme which was excellent but there are many other operators who offer similar schedules and as a whole I would recommend them.

Great trip! Everyone I talked to there seemed to have a GREAT time. Itinerary is pretty much as stated in the description. We also got to see and buy sand art, pretty cool, but you can buy it cheaper in city stores and at the airport. The dancer is Russian and not Arabian but she moves her body well - be prepared to be asked to participate in the dance. Company photographers will be everywhere and offer to sell you a CD or DVD with pictures and movies after the trip. The only reason I can see for booking the more expensive private trip over the general one is that pickup and departure times can be more flexible if you have your own vehicle, but everything else is the same.

Sanddune ride was good, only improvement needed is to increase the distance between vehicles so that passengers in one car can make photographs or videos of other vehicles as they glide through sand. Dinner time was shorter and it would be really great if Sheesha could be served before meal and at the same place where people sit for eating. Also extend your pick and drop to places other than hotels like various malls.
