Dublin Traditional Irish Music Pub Crawl

Dublin, Ireland

Discover Dublin's traditional pubs and wonderful Irish music on this 2.5-hour pub crawl through historic Temple Bar. Led by two talented professional musicians, you'll visit famous pubs and bars, and hear the story of Irish music and its influences on contemporary world music. Irish pubs and traditional Irish music - it's the perfect match!

The Irish pub remains the social focus of Irish culture and is one of Ireland's most popular attractions. While most cities around the world boast of at least one offspring of Celtic drinking culture, the original Irish pub remains a rare commodity. On this entertaining musical pub crawl you'll visit authentic establishments in the heart of Dublin.

Temple Bar is a hive of activity where artists, designers and young entrepreneurs have set up small art galleries, cafes, theaters and colorful shops. The pedestrianized streets allow you to walk freely through the narrow cobbled alleys running close to the banks of the River Liffey.

Dublin Traditional Irish Music Pub Crawl includes at least 2 of the following famous Irish bars:

  • Oliver St. John Gogarty's
  • The Ha'penny Bridge Inn
  • Isoldes Tower
  • The Chancery
  • The Legal Eagle
  • The Palace Bar
All pubs are located in close proximity to each other. It is recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes. All pubs in Ireland are non-smoking.

I enjoyed the tour and the music but I was expecting to see different musicians playing at the different venues, not the same two people just in different locations.

This was a cool event however we tried to do this on the night before St Patrick's day!! The pubs were already corwed and it was a bit of a mess. I do reccommed it if it just a regular day then you will get the best out of it....

I really enjoyed the part of the pub crawl that I was able to attend (at Ha'Penny Bridge Inn). Unfortunately, I got lost trying to follow the crowd to the second pub, but that's no fault of the tour. I really did enjoy the songs that the two gentlemen played for the group as well as the history they provided. For future reference, it might be helpful to identify the pubs in advance in case folks like me get lost going between pubs.

Cool concept, the music leaders were good, one guy very rude, don't expect to be able to talk while IN THE BAR because they get very aggitated.

Well worth the experience and money. Only one criticism; let people know beforehand that most of the pubs that the crawl frequents will be cash only! A very good piece of helpful information.

My family and I had a fantastic time. What we learned about "sessions" took us to other fun pubs for the rest of the trip. We brought 3 CD's and dozens of pictures home to enjoy with our friends. Would recommend it to anyone.

This is a magic way to get to know your Irish music (even if you thought it wasn't you cup of tea). The two tour guides (that play as well) tell and teach you in just over 2.5 hours all about the history of the music and then play a lot of music from different areas of Ireland. This tour is well worth the money and is a must do when visiting Dublin. We would do this again it was that good!

Great fun. The entertainers were excellent, informative, and humorous. The only reason I would not give this a 5-star rating is because the entertainers change with each tour.

An excellent experience that shouldn't be missed! We were in a fairly large group of over 50 people. The areas for the tour are upstairs in pubs in large rooms to accommodate the group. Musicians were excellent players and great story tellers who explained all the history and tradition of Irish music. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, and recommend it highly.

When we arrived the pub was selling tickets for 12 euros-less than we paid via Viator! Tour also had approximately 100 people- way too many to enjoy the program-left without seats!!

An absolute must-do in the city of Dublin. A great introduction to the Irish folk music history and culture, while crawling from pub to pub. The musicians are top-notch performers and are very skillful players of their instruments as well as great guides of the Irish folk music culture. I did this tour on the first night of my trip to Ireland and it was a great way to start off the trip and build up the pub crawling experience. The musicians engage the crowd and let everyone participate and sing along to the familiar and new Irish tunes. It creates an unforgettable experience and I definitely think it is more than worth every penny you spend on this tour. You cannot fully appreciate the Irish culture without experiencing the Irish folk music and the pub crawling tradition.

This was a very fun event! We had a great time. The two musicians were charming and funny. They were very talented and recommended a couple of great "local non touristy" pubs to go to after the pub crawl had ended. Lots of fun and great music.

This night was very entertaining, the music was good and we learned quite a bit about the Irish pub music life. We also received good suggestions on where to go next to continue to enjoy the music and pub experience. I would recommend going on your first night in Dublin, then you have information to take for the rest of your evenings.

The traditional Irish Music Pub Crawl was excellent, and I would recommend it. However, I wouldn't book through Viator again. Firstly, because it's not necessary, you can pay on the night when you get there but secondly, because Viator allowed me to book for one of the only two days a year when all the bars are closed - Good Friday! I didn't know that, having never been to Ireland before, but that's the sort of thing Viator should know. So the event didn't run on the day I'd paid for and booked, and I didn't know if we'd be able to join the group the next day or not luckily we were still in Ireland then. And luckily we were able to join in the group the next day without any problems. But I'm not impressed with Viator.
