This was a great tour. The fact that the weather was absolutely perfect really made it great. It was very windy but the temperature was very warm so it was not an issue. The Cliffs were amazing to see and the castle was great to see and hear about the history.

We ended up having Bob as our guide for both this trip and our trip to Cork and Blarney Castle. He was terrific, and assured we had a great time. We appreciated having enough time to see things and do things on our own, but enjoyed the stories and fast facts he provided along the way.

This trip was spectacular! We had a great guide who made sure we made all of our coach and rail connections and who also provided a wealth of information about the sites we were visiting. A great day overall and we can't wait to go back!

Everything about the trip was amazing! We booked before we arrived...literally went straight from the airport, dropped our bags off at the hotel, and were at the train station by 7am. All accommodations we comfortable and the guides were great. Saw sooooo many great things on the trip. I highly recommend! We had looked around and this was the cheapest we found and it was top notch so don't worry the price means anything about quality!

Very good Guide, time to explore on your own, Cliffs of Moher the wind was blowing fiercely, and visibility was limited, but still worth the struggle to view them. Would recommend this tour

Our guide was great and we really enjoyed the tour. The pub where we stopped to eat was great. We didn't get to see the cliffs due to the weather(we were there but it was foggy), but our guide made other stops for us to get some wonderful pictures. I recommend this tour.

This was the best tour we had! The guide was very good and gave everyone personalized attention and a great insight into the history of Ireland. Bunratty Castle was fabulous and the Cliffs of Moher did not disappoint.

My niece and I joined this tour on February 4 and enjoyed it. The weather wasn't perfect when we arrived at the Cliffs, but we had an hour there and after about 20 minutes the fog lifted and we had a clear view. I expect it is spectacular in summer or sunshine. Our guide was very helpful and knowledgeable (Marie) and the scenery all day was amazing. We enjoyed Bunratty Castle and the folk park as well as the Burren and the stop for lunch in Doolin at O'Connor's (I recommend the salmon). The pub meals were delicious and super ample. All in all, a very nice day.

It was great except it rained in the later afternoon and made some of the sites difficult to see in the end but that was no ones fault .

I bought this tour based on the reviews I saw on this site. However, I was a bit disappointed. To be sure, the Cliffs of Moher are a sight to behold, and the Irish countryside is beautiful. Unfortunately, our guide didn't seem to care much about his job. Ireland has plenty of colorful history and interesting facts (many of which I learned on other day tours I took on my trip), but he didn't offer up much more than dry statistics about population levels in various towns and provinces. The quality of the guide can really make or break a 14-hour day tour, and I was not as lucky as some of the other reviewers on this site.

This tour was excellent and I highly recommend it! The tour guide was excellent and the countryside was beautiful...the castle tour was very authentic and the little village was great shopping. The pub stop for lunch had AMAZING Irish Stew, and there is a delicious sweets shop nearby. Our great heartbreak was the weather, and upon arriving at the cliffs the fog was so dense that we were unable to see anything :( Of course, that can't be controlled...I would highly recommend this tour, and wish you better luck with the weather than we had....:)

This was a beautiful tour of some of Ireland's west coast! I found it convenient to be able to take a train rather than rent a car and drive. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, albeit not overly personable. My only complaint is that as an aspiring photographer, I was disappointed with the lack of opportunities to take photos of the spectacular Galway Bay coastline. But the stops we did make were beautiful, and for anyone other than a photographer, I highly recommend this tour!

I'm sure this is normally a wonderful tour but we were unlucky. The wind was so strong and the day so wet and foggy that we could barely see the Cliffs of Moher and then the coast road was under repair so we couldn't drive down the coast. The guide was great as was the pub lunch and the scenery was beautiful but we did miss out of some of the interesting sights.

We had a great day! The weather was good. The train ride through the countryside was very nice. And, we saw so much in one day on the bus trip. Our tour guide was wonderful. It was a very enjoyable day. We had worried that a 14-hour day would be exhausting, but we relaxed on the train and we napped a while on the bus, so, we weren't as tired at the end of the tour as we thought we would be. It was well worth the cost and gave us an opportunity to see other parts of Ireland, outside of Dublin where we were staying for the week we were there. As with all of the Viator trips we have taken, the tour left right on time and returned exactly when it was scheduled to end. We always feel that we are in good hands when we take a Viator trip.

The sights are amazing! Unfortunately, we had a brand new guide that didn't commentate so I'm sure we missed out on a lot. He was extremely nice and apologized, but I think the tour company should have done a better job of getting an experienced guide for our tour. The bus driver tried to fill in, but it's not his job so we got stuff like "on the left is a park"...duh! A long day, more in a bus than rail, or at the sights. The pub in Doolin is FANTASTIC-fast service, excellent food! Make sure to go to the chocolate shop there and get some before you leave. We couldn't have had better weather-sunny and cool, but no rain. The Cliffs are just breathtaking-go to the right side for the better views. Pack snacks for the train ride there and back-limited stuff to buy and pricey. There is a little store in the train station. I will try one of the other tours offered next time I'm in Ireland because overall this one was very, very nice.

Disappointing for sure. The castle was not worth the time or energy. The cost was way out of proportion. There are less expensive bus tours to the Cliffs of Moher and the coast line that would have been just as good and enjoyable. I will say the cliffs were well worth the visit as was the run up the coast, but that was about all. The tour indicated lunch, but learned it was an additional cost with no mention of it.

The cliffs of Moher are absolutely breathtaking. This is a must-see when you are in Ireland. Limerick was interesting as well, the tour at the castle in Limerick was informative and cool to see. By the time you get to Galway, you are exhausted from the day so we just waited around until our train back to Dublin. A rail tour is an interesting way to travel, but in hindsight I would have rented a car and drove out to the cliffs of moher. It seemed as though Limerick and Galway were wasted time when we could have been seeing other sights. As an FYI, the train is FREEZING so make sure you bring a sweatshirt or jacket.

Our tour guide was Me-Haul (I don't know how to spell his name but this is how it is pronounced). He was a great guide, he kept us entertained and made sure we were having FUN. The only thing really worth seeing on this trip however were the Cliffs of Moher, I did not like the food at the restaurant they took us to. Since they drive on the other side of the rode in Ireland, the best way to get to the Cliffs is by taking a tour.

My wife and I were fortunate to choose the all day trip with Viator that went from Dublin to the west coast of Ireland. The views were spectacular with some, like the cliffs of Moher and Burren, that are unique to Ireland. Fellow travelers were from many different countries and were pleasant to spend the entire day with. Even the children did well. Our tour guide, Dave, was very knowledgeable and was important in making the trip a success because he kept everything moving and on schedule. Dave has a wonderful sense of Irish humor that he shared at several points on the trip. Thanks for a day well spent.

This was an excellent tour. Well planned and well executed. The guide was informative and helpful without being pushy. He did a very nice job herding a large group. Enjoyed everything - the castle, burren, lunch at the pub, cliffs of moher, and the train ride. Thank you! a 5 star rating.

The natural landscapes of Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and Galway Bay were amazing! It was great to do the rail/bus combo tour to get some local flavor. Bunratty Castle was interesting and the Folk Village was beautifully picturesque. The cliffs were spectacular even in the rain. The Burren and Galway Bay sites were great. Could have done without the Doolin pub lunch, packing a picnic lunch would have been better as the food was blah, and would have allowed more time at some of the attractions. We have taken many Viator tours over the years and have always had a exellent tour guides and thus we were so dissapointed to have "Dismal Dave" as our guide. He neglected to tell us sights until they had passed by, he talked endlessly about depressing economic conditions, how he doesn't recommend going to the top of the cliff pathway as it is just for "fanatics," and used the word "unfortunately" in almost every sentence. With another guide it would have been outstanding and I'd do it again.

The trip was great! Our tour guide was a fellow named Norman, who happened to be the very best of tour guides. Don't let him go! Everything was clean, on time, professionally done and the destinations were quite interesting and informative. Would not hesitate to use this service again. I do have one concern, but it's a railroad issue, not a tour company issue. The coaches that we had, both in and out of Dublin, were supposedly under contarct with the tour company for their exclusive use. But Raymond was not in a position to enforce that and our return car was used by several people that didn't fit the demographic of the tour group. Not a good situation.

We had a fantastic time! Our guide seemed to have stepped right out of an Irish folktale. He regaled us with the history, politics, and folklore of each area we passed on our drive from Galway to the Cliffs. The stops along the way were wonderful as well. The only hangup was that a couple of folks did not show up on time when it was time to depart the cliffs! With the extraordinary flooding and train transportation concerns to deal with, our guide was most displeased at their tardiness. Make sure you're on time and pay attention to the departure times, and you'll have a wonderful day! The cliffs are spectacular and not to be missed, even on a foggy day.
