Northern Ireland including Giant's Causeway Rail Tour from Dublin

Dublin, Ireland

Sit back and relax on this combined rail and coach day trip from Dublin to Northern Ireland. With all your travel arrangements organized for you, you'll see Belfast and visit the famous coastal landscape known as the Giant's Causeway, with its stunning basalt columns.

Departing from Dublin Connolly Station you'll travel by train to Belfast (light breakfast available onboard). Upon arrival in Belfast, your coach tour will head to the famous Antrim Coast Road, crossing the lovely Glens of Antrim en route to Ballycastle and the Carrick-a-rede rope bridge. From here, you can glimpse the Scottish coast on a clear day. Note that the bridge is open from March to October only and there's a small local charge if you cross the bridge.

Next, you'll continue to the stunning Giant's Causeway, renowned for its polygonal basalt columns. It's fun to walk around, so be sure to wear good walking shoes!

After making a photo stop at historic Dunluce Castle, it's time to return to Belfast to catch your train to Dublin Connolly Station (snacks available)

This tour was spectacular. The Giant's Causeway was amazing. Still don't know how those stones got there but what an amazing site. The guide and the driver was terrific. They really knew their history and the sites that we visited. They made the tour fun and exciting. Brendan was an excellent tour guide.

Excellent! Our guides were extremely informative and friendly. We very much enjoyed our day. In addition to the two main sights, we were able to stop for a couple of photo options and to stretch our legs. Very good tour. I would highly recommend it.

Even though the Giant's Causeway and the Antrim Coast are well worth the trip to see, the day trip from Dublin was much too long a trip for one day.

This was a great day for my Husband and myself, we love this trip. We had a great time and learned a lot about Northern Ireland, the guide was very helpful and could answer all questions that anyone asked. This was part of a dream trip for our 40th wedding anniversary and this just add to our memories.

The day was very long but extremely interesting and the scenery was beautiful. Before the return train trip the bus took us on a quick tour around Belfast which was fascinating. Our only complaint was that the lunch at the Devil's Causeway hotel as terrible. We highly recommend this tour.

Our tour guide was Peter. His disposition was less than enthusiastic, he should have called in sick this particular day because it seemed a burden for him. My husband and I went on a different tour in Ireland just 2 days before and the other tour guide was excellent.

Overall the trip was excellent. However, I would suggest that an option to tour the Bushmills Distillery be added instead of spending 2 hours at the Giant Causeway.

Our trip to the Giant's Causeway by rail was great. The views along the Irish coast were fantastic and the railway part was a great way to travel north. I thought that the tour guide did a great job. We had a short time in Ireland and it was a wonderful way to spend a day. Would recommend the trip!

Amazing and beautiful once there! Totally worth it. Tour quide was great. Long day of travel and large coaches make it hard for those on aisle seats to see things.

This trip is good only if you don't mind being rushed from places to places. The only two sites that we had enough time was the causeway (2hr) and the bridge(1 hr). Also, please DO NOT buy entry tickets through the tour guide because he over charged us. Over there they sell family tickets for cheaper price and there was NO line. But through the tour guide, we bought tickets individually. We paid 3.50 instead of 2.90 for kids each. He claimed it was cheaper to buy through him. Did he think we can't read from the displayed right above the ticket counter?

Fantastic way to spend a day from Dublin. Beautiful scenery. Our tour guide Allen, was fantastic. The Giant's Causeway is a remarkable place to see plus all the extra's were a great bonus. We were given several photo stops along the way which was great. I would highly recommend this tour!!

I had an amazing time on this tour. I really enjoyed it. The Giant's Causeway is awesome and you'll never see anything quite like it anywhere in the world (except Scotland). I highly recommend this trip to anyone who has enthusiam for nature and landscapes. The coastline is beautiful. Please be sure to have Sterling Pounds on hand because NI uses the Pound and not the Euro (like the rest of Ireland). They charge about 5 pounds to cross The Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge. You have a option not to do it, if heights are not your thing.

It was the best tour I went on in Ireland The views from the Causeway made the train ride worth it. If you are not into scenery skip it, half the tour is getting there.

This tour was so much fun and Pat and Alan, our tour guides, were wonderful. They were both incredibly kind and hilarious. Everything was so beautiful and they each had a lot of stories to share about the different areas we were in. It was very easy to find Pat in the train station in Dublin, too. Originally I was a little worried I wouldn't be able to find the group before they left. This trip was definitely worth the money. At the end Alan also threw in a 30 minute driving tour of Belfast which was very interesting.

This was an unbelievable experience. If I would have one negative to say about it, it would be that there weren't enough hours in the day to spend at the Giant's Causeway. I would do this tour again in a heartbeat!

It was great. The guide waited at the train station, and in Belfast the coach was waiting. The guide and driver was great in his commentary, the route to Giant's Causeway is beautiful. All the stops along the route were scenic, and crossing the Carrick-a-Rede rope was indeed an experience. We also saw a bit of Belfast from the coach! Highly recommended!

A wonderful day trip! Only problem was getting the rail service from Dublin to Belfast because of the accident that had occurred a few months back. The transfers from bus to rail to bus was a bit tedious but the scenery was spectacular! As a suggestion you may want to email persons who have paid for the trip to let them know of their options of a refund or a trip later on, way ahead of schedule and not 24 hours before the trip. Thanks again.
