Wicklow Day Trip from Dublin

Dublin, Ireland

Enjoy a leisurely drive into the heart of Wicklow's scenic countryside on this stimulating day trip from Dublin. You'll delve into Ireland's history at magnificent Powerscourt Estate, visit the ancient monastic settlement of Glendalough and have a photo opportunity in the scenic coastal village of Bray.

Travel along the southern coastline to Bray for a photo stop before continuing deep into the heart of Wicklow's hilly countryside.  You'll be suitably impressed by the magnificent historic house and gardens of Powerscourt Estate. Dating back to the 18th century, Powerscourt's gardens command views over the surrounding countryside, and the house is one of Ireland's finest.

Your tour continues into the heart of the Wicklow Mountains to Glendalough. Glendalough is a truly spellbinding place, home to the impressive 10th-century Round Tower. After your guided tour of this beautiful spiritual site, you will have time to enjoy lunch (not included in the tour cost), surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside Ireland has to offer.

Jillian and Michael(driver) were a great part of the tour with background information, relationship of movies to certain towns, advice on how to get the 'most' out of a venue. They were very personable, genuine, informed and entertaining. The views, scenery and locations that we visited were spectacular. The value of this excursion was exceptional. We loved it and would very highly recomend it - WHAT A GREAT DAY !!!

Great outing - the relaxed and informative commentary and the careful driver - were the 'icing on the cake' for this day in the remarkable beauty of Ireland. Prior to trip the common sense of staff member (blonde lady) was of great assistance when our online booking was not registering on 'coach list'.(one star subtracted because of this process error - the day out itself was 5 Star.)

Best bus tour I ever had. Wicklow was amazing. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Brian was not just a driver who could put that bus through tight spots but became a friend that helped my better understand my Irish heritage and Irish mythology and literature. How many bus drivers can do that?

Our trip to Wicklow, Bray, Powerscourt and Glendalough was one of the most memorable trips we have taken. Our guide Mary was friendly, accommodating, amusing and informative. We had made an error in our booking date and this was adjusted with the minimum fuss. The sites we visited were exquisite and we cannot speak too highly of our experience.

The guide was excellent. Powerscourt Estate is definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately the weather didn't hold for the Monastery where there is no inside activities to amuse oneself.

I spoke with someone at Viator and signed up for a tour that went to Powerscourt and Wicklow. The picture on this page shows Powerscourt, but the tour did not include it. We had to cancel our Newgrange tour so we could get to Powerscort._br/_ The tour to Wicklow was good. The Grayline tourguide was very knowledgeable and accomodating.

I would highly recommend this excursions for a first time or anytime visitor to Dublin. The guide, Jeff, was fantastic! He was very knowledgable about the region and sights on the tour. I am a travel agent in the USA, and all in my group enjoyed the country side, Powerscout Estate, Bray, and Wicklow mountains. It should be manadory for anyone visiting Ireland, as it really shows the beauty of the emerald isle.

We highly recommend this full day trip to the County Wicklow, the seaside town of Bray, Powerscourt and Glendalough. Our guide was well versed in the history of all the places that we visited. He commented on local lore and always allowed ample time to view the sights on the tour. The gardens of Powerscourt and the estate itself are amazing. Bray was picturesque and the walk up to the lakes at Glendalough were icing on the cake. If time permits in your visit to Dublin, place this tour on your must do list.

Powercourt Estate is huge. If you like walking around insanely picturesque grounds then you'll love this place. We also went to a former monastery that is tucked away in the mountains. A great day trip, not too long if you're looking to get back to Dublin at night and go out to a pub.

This was an excellent tour, and the gardens at Powerscourt are fantastic. Our Guide was wonderful, and really made the trip -- he gave his own guided tour of the gardens to those interested, which was lovely. He also was bvery knowedgeable and gave us a lot of information in a very entertaining way. The scenery of course was beautiful.

The only thing we could suggest is a bit longer time spent at each place, but we know that is not always possible. Wonderful tour!!!
