The Wild Wicklow Tour from Dublin is the perfect introduction to Wicklow's untamed landscapes. The beautiful coastal drive from Dublin to Glendalough takes you past Dun Laoghaire Harbor, Dalkey and Killiney. These exclusive suburbs on the out reaches of Dublin are home to Ireland's rich and famous including U2's Bono, Enya and film director Neil Jordan. Then, driving through the Wicklow Mountains, you'll soon understand why this area is known as 'the Garden of Ireland'.

You'll continue on to the green mountains of Wicklow County, where you'll stop for morning tea (additional cost) at Avoca Handweavers. The oldest wool mill in Ireland, Avoca Handweavers is a great place to shop for high-quality Irish crafts.

The next stop on your Wicklow tour in Glendalough, in Wicklow Mountains National Park. Glendalough is renowned for its natural beauty and history, and is one of the most visited places in Ireland.

At Glendalough, your guide will walk with you through the 6th-century monastic settlement. You'll learn about St Kevin, the founder of the ancient monastery, and hear stories relating to the ruins scattered about the site, including the famous Round Tower. There will also be time for a leisurely stroll through the woods to Upper Lake.

Leaving the peace and serenity of Glendalough behind, you'll head off for a stop at a local pub for lunch (additional cost). Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and good old-fashioned home cooking of a traditional Irish pub. Why not wash lunch down with a hearty pint of Guinness?

After lunch you'll begin your return to Dublin, via Sally's Gap, where scenes from 'Braveheart' were filmed in 1995. This scenic but desolate area of wild bogland offers a stunning contrast to the Wicklow Mountains.

You'll arrive back in Dublin in the late afternoon, with drop- off either in Ballsbridge (D4) or at Trinity College.

Michael or bus driver was very charismatic and fun....a self described "Dirty Dubliner". Beatiful scenery of the bay as well as the Wicklow mountains....neat place we stopped at for traditional Irish lunch....with music.

Genial guide, comfortable seating, gorgeous countryside. Favorite part of my visit by far. Only suggestion would be to add in a stop somewhere in the bogland for photos - it was a truly bizarre landscape I couldn't get a good picture of from the bus. Otherwise it was all brilliant.

The Wicklow mountains are beautiful! We stopped several times at some great locations to take pictures of the mountains. I would have liked to have done some actual walking through/around the mountains but the entire trip was bus only. Glendalough is also a very pretty place to visit. It's amazing how old the structures are. The tour guide was extremely chatty and I don't think he stopped talking for one minute of the trip. While he was nice, I would have liked someone a bit more subdued that didn't tell his entire life story.

I normally avoid tour groups, but my boyfriend and I really wanted to head out of the city while we were visiting Dublin. We made a fantastic choice with the Wild Wicklow tour! Bus driver was a little cooky, (I think his name was Steve) but he gave out good info and free Jameson whiskey shots. The weather was great and got some awesome pictures in Dun Laoghaire, Wicklow and Glendalough. Avoca Handweavers Store is a waste of time, everything is way overpriced and not that great. It wasn't what I expected. The only letdown of the trip. Still, overall a great time and great tour.

100% value for money._br/_ Everything on the tour is more than perfect. Our guide Dennis was the the on an Irish Coffee. He guided us around, with good black, sacastic Irish homour. He could tell a story about everything and even at the end of the tour, late late afternoon, he was still talking and smiling. This is absolutely recommendable. I could do this tour again and again and will do next time I'm in Dublin. Booking via Viator, was easy and nice with an iPhone as my tour ticket was stored in my Viator app. Thumbs up :-)

Best tour we have ever had! Our guide Steven was outstanding and had a great sense of humor; he kept us entertained all day long! The stops and scenery were beautiful but most importantly the knowledge the guide had of the area was outstanding and he was able to give us so much information on not only the history but also the culture. He made the trip more than wonderful and we didn't want to get off the bus at the end. The bus was extremely comfortable and all stops were very well coordinated. We will definitely do this tour again, and again, and again. Maybe Steve could do our tour of Belfast on our next trip??
