3-Day Isle of Skye Small Group Tour from Edinburgh

Edinburgh, United Kingdom

Immerse yourself in the wild beauty of the Highlands and Isle of Skye on a three-day small group excursion from Edinburgh. In three days you'll explore some of the most dramatic and beautiful scenery in the Highlands, and visit the second largest west coast island of Scotland, the magical Isle of Skye.

This three-day trip from Edinburgh to the Isle of Skye and the Scottish Highlands will show you Scotland's most beautiful scenery. Tour highlights include Glencoe, the Lochaber region around Fort William, EileanDonan Castle (set of the movie Highlander) and over the sea to the Isle of Skye, where you'll stay in the picturesque harbor town of Portree.

You'll spend the entire second day on Skye, exploring the wild north of the island, the Old Man of Storr, the mountain pass of the Quiraing and Skye's most westerly point at Neist.

On the third day, you'll return to the mainland and travel through the Five Sisters of Kintail. You'll visit eerie Loch Ness(boat trips are available April to October), where you can try to spot the Loch Ness Monster, before making your way to the central Highlands and Edinburgh.

With a maximum group size of 16 passengers, this special trip allows you to have memorable and personal experience. You'll travel in a comfortable air-conditioned minivan and receive individual attention from your expert driver/guide. Traveling in a small group means you can reach out-of-the-way places to discover the real Scotland!

A beautiful tour, and highly educational thanks to our tour guide Barnie. We saw sights that we never would have found on our own. Don't worry about the weather -- rain or shine the scenery is extraordinary. We never received a discount card nor were there any opportunities for independent exploration. Most of the time is spent touring in the van, with short stops for very specific sights chosen by the tour guide. That being said, the tour was relaxing and interesting, and our B and B accommodations in Portree were absolutely beautiful.

My friend and I had a wonderul trip with other like-minded and adventurous people from all ages and parts of the world! Our guide, Alistair, was a legend - he kept us entertained and laughing the whole time, whilst imparting his wealth of knowledge to us on the geography, history, culture, local information, cuisine etc etc of Scotland and the highlands!! He was commendable to say the least! Highly recommend this tour to everyone from all ages and backgrounds! Thank you Ali, we love you!!!

i'll start with Audrey, that was the best guide ever. she was very nice, attentive to everyone, pleasent, a perfect story teller, wide knowledge and more._br/_ the bus was comfortable and new as prommised, you should renew your first aid kit._br/_ the tour was to beautifull locations. the b and b was so nice, welcoming and comfortable._br/_ the one aspect that i would choose to have different if i could is that we where to long in the bus, a very big part of the tour was long driving and very short stops. i would like to have in a tour like this more walks and longer stops instead of so many 2 minutes stop for taking photograph.

This tour was exceptionally wonderful. The small number in the coach ( 16) and the knowledge and wit of the tour guide made this trip one to remember. The scenery is so lovely and the weather is so Scotland. The B and B was really lovely and we were well looked after by our hosts and the Tour guide. Not to be missed.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the Highlands and the Isle of Skye from Sunday 25th September 2011! Our tour guide Audrey was very energetic, knowledgable, kind, personable and informative of the many historical facts, stories, myths and sites that we visited on route each day. We shared our experience with a lovely group of people in a very comfortable mini bus and recommend this tour to everyone interested in exploring Scotland without the crowds.

This tour was outstanding. The scenery is simply breathtaking. By far, this was our favourite tour. 3 days was just enough time to experience the beauty of the the "Isle of Skye"._br/_ Our hotel accommodations were also absolutely fabulous, right on the harbour at Portree with a view of the fishing boats right outside our window. Our tour guide, "Eddy", was also truly outstanding. His descriptions and stories during the tour, and on the many nature walks made all of us appreciate his pride in his Scottish heritage. Isle of Skye is a truly a beautiful place with breathtaking scenery. I will be recommending this tour to all of my friends and family._br/_ Debbie - Canada

I would recommend this trip to all. Our driver and guide was Michael and he went out of his way so that we could see the interesting highlights yet he was honest about what was worth seeing. He picked us up at 8:30 or 9:00 AM and returned us to our accommodation between 5 and 6 so each day was packed with sight seeing, hiking, tours or wandering in places of interest. I felt safe being a passenger in the van and the van was comfortable. Michael was very knowledgeable and I enjoyed hearing about the Scottish history. He also was a great storyteller. Thanks for a great trip!!!!! Gail Risvold

This trip really lived up to the reviews. Rabbie's is an excellent tour guide service and is well worth the money. Also, the place they booked for me in Portree for 2 nights was absolutely perfect, the Coolin View b and b. Neal, our driver/tour guide, was brilliant as well. Trust Rabbie's for a great trip. My only complaint would be that some stops there wasn't engough time. I would have liked an option for some extended time to hike around the Isle of Skye. But I'm a real outdoorsy type. Either way, great trip.

Our trip from Edinburgh to Isle of Skye with Rabbies was absolutely amazing. Everything was well.orgainsed and completely stress-free for us. The bus trip through the Highlands took the scenic route (I'm not sure if there is a not scenic route in the Highlands) and we took frequent photo stops in amazing locations. On Skye we had a place in a great little B and B (Seaforth Cottage) and a full day bus tour on the island seeing the unbelievable landscapes. Our tour guide (Neal) was a chatty guy with a good knowledge of the history of the places we passed and made sitting in the bus for longer stretches very entertaining with local tales and anecdotes. All in all, the trip was everything we had hoped for.

It was wonderful! Sarah, our driver/guide, was an encyclopedia. She made it very easy to understand the complex history of Scotland with all her stories and she took us to the best places for breathtaking photos. During the tour we developped a certain level of friendship with the group which is pleasant! The B&B was ordinary and small, although nice, quiet and clean with typical B&B breakfast. If you don't mind to be sitting a lot, this is the perfect tour! Personally I found it a bit too long in the minivan (I am an active person). I do recommend this tour and would consider to try the other tours next time.

My daughter and I had a fantastic time. Our guide James was an amazing story teller and a wonderful, nice guy. He did a great job of pointing out the sights and stopping so we could take pictures. Our B&B in Portree was great. The other people on our tour were so much fun. The Isle of Skye is so beautiful and I was stunned by the beauty of the highlands. I would love to go back and do this same tour again. Also, the value for the price was great. Thanks for an absolutely wonderful time! I highly recommend this tour.

My husband and I had a great time travelling the highlands. It was comfortable travel and the guide was knowledgeable. My only criticism is that we did not get the promised discount card off restaurants etc, and we did not get to do the boat trip on Loch Ness as they ran too late one day. The B and B was lovely and we felt very welcome.

With Rabbies providing small group tours allowed us to venture and access to locations off the normal tourist map and provided extra time to take in those locations and sights._br/_ Karen our guide was excellent right from the start, made us feel more than welcomed and entertained the group to a highly professional standard, She was able to provide historical background, farming activities and geographical information of the areas visited._br/_ The 16 seater bus was comfortable and suited the roads and areas that we travelled on and visited._br/_ Accommodation at the various locations was of a high standard._br/_ The staff in the High Street office were pleasant and provided the required information to enable me to be comfortable that I was making the right choice._br/_ The tour satisfied all my requirements and gave me a better insight and introduction into Scotland to enable me to return in the future._br/_ I would recommend this tour to all.

My only complaint is that this 3 day trip should really be a 4 day with 2 days on Skye as there is so much to see. Our guide, Ross, was fabulous and really made the trip. He had great commentary, a good sense of humour, was very professional, had well timed breaks and was a safe driver. Our B and B was lovely although we were surprised about the hill.

The 3-day trip to the Isle of Skye that we booked with Rabbies through VIATOR was to celebrate our youngest son's graduation from Royal Scottish Academy and our 40th wedding anniversary. We would highly recommend this experience. It should be on everyone's BUCKET LIST. Viator selected the Almondbank Bed & Breakfast for our stay in Portree, which was exceptional! We enjoyed a hearty Scottish breakfast by Effie, our hostess...comfortable, clean accommodations and Eddie provided a wonderful three days of facts & stories, interesting, relaxed photo opportunities and safe travel...
