Cinque Terre Small Group Day Trip from Florence

Florence, Italy

You'll fall in love with Italy's prettiest coastal villages on a small group visit to the Cinque Terre from Florence. You've probably heard of the five famous fishing ports of the Cinque Terre. Now's your chance to visit these picture-postcard villages on a personalized small group day trip you'll treasure.

After driving through Tuscany into Liguria, you'll arrive in Riomaggiore, the first of the Cinque Terre villages. Here, your driver/guide will escort you on an easy walk along the famous Lovers Walk trail, for magnificent coastal views. You're guaranteed to be captivated by the magic and beauty of the Cinque Terre on this relaxing stroll.

Next, you'll visit Manarola to explore the narrow alleys and pretty pastel squares that epitomize the beauty of the Cinque Terre villages. While you're here, perhaps you'd like to sample the renowned local wines at a cozy wine bar.

From Manarola, your tour continues by boat to Vernazza, arguably the most beautiful of the five villages with its large open harbor, castle and church. Enjoy a relaxing lunch (not included) at one of the open-air restaurants lining the waterfront, or take a stroll through the back streets for splendid views along the coast.

At your final stop of Corniglia, the only village of the Cinque Terre not directly located on the water, enjoy some of the best views of the Cinque Terre, and the opportunity (not included) to taste some of the famous local wine produced in this village since the times of the Romans.

Traveling before May 2012?

After the major flooding that some parts of the Cinque Terre experienced  in October 2011, your tour will operate a slight different itinerary until the situation in Vernazza returns to normal. We expect this to be in mid April.

Until then, your tour will replace the visit of Vernazza with the charming port town of Portovenere, that dates back to the first century BC. Your revised itinerary will feature Riomaggiore, the Lovers' Walk, Manarola, Corniglia and Portovenere. Your boat ride is subject to weather conditions and will take place between Portovenere and Riomaggiore. On occasions when the boats are not operating, this transfer will be by minivan.

This trip to Cinque Terre was worth all of the money spent. Even though it was not a beautiful, sunny day, our tour guide was wonderful. Spending the day talking with him and hearing all about the region fom a local person was wonderful. Cinque Terre is just so beautiful. My only complaint was that I wish we had more time.

Very personal attention with the tour guide, who was very knowledgeable. A beautiful group of villages. It was much easier to get there with a guide versus figuring buses and trains, etc.

the tour was an eye opener! Luca our tour guide was good at telling us about the history of the area and the many interesting facts. We appreciated his commentary and knowledge. The sightseeing was spectacular and the pesto we had in one of the villages was the best i have ever had. Absolutely thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. WELL DONE GUYS!

Amazing way to get a taste of Cinque Terre. We loved Luca, our guide. The car ride out was comfortable, we had adequate time in each place we were scheduled to go, and we got tons of information while there. We couldn't have asked for a better day trip!

Driver was fabulous and informative.Your itinerary is ambiguous and all of our group were under the impression we were still having a boat ride (trip 20/3-(not a winter month and weather perfect). Whilst there is mention of change of itinerary and Vernazza not included, we were ALL expecting a boat trip to get coastal views of Vernazza that we couldn't view...just a tip-b4 u start 'the Lover's Walk' make sure you backtrack from where you started for 5 minutes as u won't be taken there-it's the only time on this trip you'll get to capture 'that' view you were expecting!

I would not purchase this trip again. I would use the 400 dollars to have a much more relaxed journey on the train and spend the night in cinque terre. Although the guide was very pleasant, we had a total of 1.5 hours in one village so there wasn't any time to get lunch. We had 20 minutes in the other village. I would prefer to get the train to Viareggio and then relax and take in the beautiful sights of cinque terre without being rushed. However, the driver Tiberio was very pleasant and freindly. The ferry doesn't run till April so we were taken to Porto Venere instead where we where given a very rushed 30 minutes. The whole thing was too rushed.

This was a great tour, despite the fact that we couldn't get to one of the places due to recent flooding. We went to another beautiful village instead. Enjoyed a wonderful lunch and the guide was fantastic. Well worth doing.

Great trip. Good Guide. Though Vernazza is not accessible during our trip, the guide substitute it with a visit to Portovenere, which is as remarkable as the Cinque Terre region. Fully satisfied.

A highlight of our holiday. We loved the small group tour, that gave us plenty of time throughout the day to enjoy and explore the region and get into areas that large tour coaches wouldnt. Our driver/guide went out of his way to accommodate everyone and made sure we had a great day

We had an excellent guide from Bellisime Avventure. Very knowledgeable and helpful- he made sure we could find our way back to the transport. Cinque Terre offered some of the best views, perfect for that romantic getaway pics. We had a droppings at Lucca as one of the villages was not accessible at the time.

Cinque terra itself is beautiful but I felt a bit ripped of for what i paid for the tour! Firstly, we had to ait one hour and the other 3 tourists did not turn up, so i was by myself with the guide which was good. However, the agenda mentioned on the itinery were not done...for e.g the boat cruise on the Ligurian sea, we only saw RioMaggiore and walked from there to Manorola...so didnt get to visiting the remaining 3 of the Cinque villages!! viator should price this tour based on actuals rather than charging a hefty price and then not delivering on most of it!! The only redemption is the tour guide Mauro was a lovely gentleman and made the trip very pleasant...my issue is with Viators pricing based on a promised agenda which is then subjective to circumstances?..

Was a beautiful day that we had for the Cinque Terre trip! The sunshine and warm breezes added to the picturesque towns of Riomaggiore and Manarola. Unfortunately due to the recent and terrible flooding we were unable to continue walk to all 5 towns but did manage to see Lucca and Porto Venero instead, which equally beautiful. Mauro was a friendly, well informed guide and did a great job! I hope to go back some day and see the remaining towns and enjoy these amazing towns!

This trip was wonderful. Claudio, our guide, was great. Because of previous bad weather in part of Cinque Terre, all of the 5 lands were not accessible. However,we went to 2 of the lands, then our guide took us to another town and to a lovely local restaurant. It was a wonderful experience that I would recommend to anyone.

Despite closure of 2 of the towns, this trip was AMAZING !! Highly recommended. The sites were beautiful._br/_ Our driver/guide Claudio was so easy-going, friendly and enthusiastic. We side-tripped to Pisa at the end. Unfortunately, the PA system in the car was not working so Claudio not able to provide too much commentary during the drive.

Despite most of Cinque Terre being inaccessible because of recent flooding and mudslides, our visit to Riomaggiore and Manorola was awesome. Our guide, LucaWas fantastic. He also substituted other favorite spots including Portoveneres, which was wonderful. He was so knowledgable about the area and it's history, that he made the whole day one to always remember._br/_ I would absolutely recommend this tour !

Our original trip had to be modified due to the flooding and closure, but we were still able to visit two of the villages, had a wonderful lunch with the best basil AND went to Pisa to see the leaning tower as the change in the trip. We were satisfied!

Cinque terre got wiped out in major floods. We were told of this a few days before the tour. We were offered a refund or see part of Cinque Terre (the area that was not damaged) and anywhere else we would like to see. The guide was brilliant. He took us to his favorite places just near Cinque terre.

This was a beautiful scenic tour. Our guide was fantastic. Shared stories about Florence and the Tuscany region as we passed through on our ride to Cinque Terre. He made our day very pleasant. Went out of his way to stop and let us take all the pictures we wanted to have for memories. Would recommend this trip to any one who is thinking about it. Plus my daughter went on the hiking tour to Cinque Terre and she enjoyed that as well. Great Tour!

We liked the tour, but we think it could be improved. We felt the leader was more of a driver than a guide, not very informative, tended to just speak to those around him. Nice enough guy, however. Two hours in the one town was way too long. On another tour the guide arranged for the place we ate lunch and that was a great experience. We got to know our fellow travelers, and we didn't have to try and find a decent place to eat on our own.

I was under the impression that there would be more hiking between the towns, I was excited to spend the day walking from one coastal village to the other. Instead, we were shuttled from town to town by bus. Of course, we were also treated to a boat ride and a quick stroll along the Via dell' Amour, which were lovely, but I guess I should have read the description a little more closely. If you want to hike, don't bother with this tour, but if you would rather be driven around and not have to do much of your own planning (which can be quite nice) then this is the tour for you!

Cinque Terre was amazing and well worth the drive from Florence. The majority of the time is spent on your own, so you are mostly paying for the transportation to get there, vs. having a guide talk to you about the different villages.

Two stars for the scenery, no stars for Claudio. His English was faltering, his eyes were on the buxom blond. No time or explanations for us. I saw a lot, but learned nothing.

This is a tour unlike any other. We recommend doing this tour to anyone who wants to see a completely different side of Italy. The villages are amazing and you will get some of the best photos to keep as memories. Wear good walking shoes because their are quite a few hills and quite a bit of walking. I would definitely do this tour again. Our drivertour guide, Luca, was very knowledgable about the area and he was fluent in English. It was a great trip overall!
