The wine was excellent and our guide made for a very pleasant evening, but the cheese was a little disappointing. We needed to recce the street on the day before, because the dual numbering system is very confusing if you don't know 17=39red, especially as there is a wine shop between 15 and 19 red!

I think that the 5 stars that this event has are based on when the tasting used to be at the Pitti Gola e Cantina when the host was Zeno. It is now in a different location with a different host. If you are re-visiting this event as we were, be aware that this is the case.

The wine tasting was a little disappointing. It was advertised to be 1 1/2 hours long, but our tasting was over in a hour, and we received only the bare minimum of 3 wines, 2 olive oils and some cheese to taste. Based on reviews we had read, we expected a little more so we were disappointed.

My wife and myself were the only participants at our late February 2012 tasting. Our hostess/presenter was very knowledgeable, had prepared ahead of time, and seemingly enjoyed taking her time to present and discuss. She covered basic wine tasting techniques and wine evaluation. She added value beyond what was described in the tasting blurb, for example, by having vials of odors to compare to the bouquet of the wines. She did well handling our wide variety of questions that went beyond the wines in front of us. She spoke very good English. The wines were all of good quality and true to their type. There were small amounts of three interesting cheeses. We had not had young pecorino before. The two extra virgin olive oils we had were eye opening as we had not treated olive oils like wines before. How to make this better? Have more wines, as Tuscany has many more types than were represented at this tasting.

Unfortunately my Husband took ill at the tasting and the staff were amazing in helping me get an ambulance and assistance with getting back to our accommodation. We are sorry that we missed this as it was starting to be a good evening......

The tasting took place in the wine cellar of a small cantina across the square from the Palazzo Pitti. Despite being relatively young, our host, one of the cantina's owners, knew more about wine than I can ever imagine. He went above and beyond what was described in the Viator listing and made sure everyone had a great time. Another couple there were pressed for time due to a restaurant reservation, so our host called the restaurant (he happened to know the owner personally) and arranged to move the reservation back so they could finish the tasting. It was a great time - we learned a lot about wine and tried some great varieties. I will do it again when I go back to Florence.

Zeno is amazing!! He gave us more than the advertised. We had 11 wines!! My husband and I had dinner at the enoteca 3 times. Zeno wants you to choose a wine that you want to try, and he will recommend a corresponding wine. I heartily recommend this activity.

Possibly the best evening of our stay. Three hours of being drunk "up the menu" by an expert who was incredibly passionate about his subject, no hard sell to buy the wine afterwards (although you WILL want to), 12 different wines to taste not the advertised 4, detailed commentary on each one down to the name, age, and personality of the vinyard owner or aerial pictures showing exactly which slope of the hill that wine came from. Cheese was almost incidental to the evening, but who cares when the wine was so great? Can't recommend this enough.

Worth every pennny. We tasted 9 different wines which were all excellent. The owner was very knowledgeable about his wines and made it a very enjoyable evening. We were there a lot longer than the designated 1.5 hours. No rush at all. It would have been nice to have more cheese, but only a minor point. Also the set up could be better - in the basement where other customers had to pass to use the toilets. I would really recommend this tour.

We had the most wonderful time with Zeno sharing his true passion for wines and tasting spectacular wines, excellently chosen and the great thing about this is that Zeno knows each of the wine growers as well as their wine and he's able to tell us so much!_br/_ A great few hours - much longer than advertised - so don't make plans as it's worthwhile being able to stay on and enjoy the ambience of the bar and make the most of Zeno's knowledge!_br/_ We'll be back next year!

If there were more stars I would give them! this was an unexpected gem! Our wine guide, Zeno, was wonderful - friendly, genuine and knowledgeable. His passion for wine was evident and he was happy to share his passion and knowledge with us, not just about the wines themselves but the producers and vineyards. I will recommend this to everyone visiting Florence! Oh - and don't forget to have a glass of your favourite at the end and try the amazing food!

We visited a wine bar in Florence for this. It was only for 6 people so we had a very personalized tasting. Zeno, one of the owners was our host and he is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. We learned a lot and sampled several good wines and cheeses. Zeno loves what he does so he actually gave us a lot more wine to taste than the tour states. Further, the great thing was that he didn't try pushing us to buy his wines. He really enjoys wine and that is why he does the tastings. It was refreshing that we could sit there and enjoy wo having the host advertising his products at the same time. Further, the wines were all of very good quality and calibur. For those living in the US, the ship the wines you purchase to your home which makes it much easier than carrying them around in your luggage. I cannot say enough about this experience, its a must for wine lovers or those who want to really experience the Tuscan region.
