Florence Half-Day or Full-Day Sightseeing Tour

Florence, Italy

The ideal way to discover Florence is your own way! Choose either the morning or afternoon tour or book them both, with lunch included, for a comprehensive introduction to this classic Renaissance city. Even better, you'll gain quick access to the Uffizi and Accademia galleries and skip the queues.

Florence morning tour:
Your morning tour starts with a drive up to Piazzale Michelangelo to admire wonderful panoramic views of Florence. Next, you'll take a walking tour of the  of the cathedral (exterior) in the old city center, including Giotto's bell tower, the Baptistery with its bronze doors and the famous cupola by Brunelleschi. A short walk brings you to the Accademia Gallery (*) which houses the statue of David by Michelangelo. The morning tour concludes here, or you can choose to end your morning tour with lunch at a restaurant in the town center (optional).

Florence afternoon tour:
Your afternoon tour begins with panoramic views of Florence, Fiesole and the Arno Valley. Next, you'll visit the old city center to see the Franciscan Church of Santa Croce (exterior). A short walk through the heart of Florence brings you to the famous Piazza Signoria, where you can see the imposing Palazzo Vecchio (exterior) and the beautiful Loggia del Lanzi. Next you'll visit the Uffizi Gallery (**) to admire superb paintings by Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael and Giotto. The tour concludes at the Uffizi.

Florence full-day tour:
A combination of the morning tour, including a light lunch, followed by the afternoon tour.

Please Note:
(*) Closed on Monday. Replaced with a visit to the Bargello Museum or the Medici Chapels.
(**) The Gallery is closed on Monday; and will be replaced with a visit to the Museum of Palazzo Vecchio.

Great trip! They took us to a number of hidden spots that you just don't see unless you have a guide. Lunch was great and we didn't have to worry about a seat or anything. Viator already had tables reserved. Seeing this amazing city was enhanced more by way of Viator!

Excellent tour of the city. We loved doing part in the bus and part on foot. The view overlooking the city was just spectacular. Our guide was very good. Our only difficulty was being dropped off so far from the starting point. We finally had to call a taxi because we weren't familiar enough with the streets or buses to walk or ride back. But overall, it was delightful and we would highly recommend it for an overview of Florence.

The full day tour was excellent but was a very full day with a lot of walking. Both guides were very informative . Our afternoon guide for the museum was very passionate about the art work on display, making the tour that more enjoyable. Would recommend the full day tour if you want to see it all in a short stay in Florence.

The tour was pretty good. Guide was knowledgeable. She spent too much time in the first section of the Ufizzi and not enough in the entire museum. She also talked way too long on each exhibit and tended to lose people.

We showed for the 2:30 pickup ahead of time and the pickup vehicle never arrived. We phoned and were told we were at the wrong spot (which we clearly were not). The woman on the other end of the phone was very rude and told us to just get over it. She told us _br/_ that we could meet up with the tour at the gallery at 4:15 which we did. So we paid $68.00 each for a 1/2 day tour which turned out to be an hour long guided tour at the gallery. I am sure we could have arranged our own guided tour for much less than $68.00 each. Clearly I am not very happy with what transpired.

Very good tour, with very informative guide. Quite a lot of walking so not for the less able, but meant we saw quite a few backstreets which we might not have ventured down otherwise.

This was a really good tour. We opted for the full day. The Churches, Galleries, and sites were amazing. The tour guides were very informative and knowledgeable. the headsets the guides give you for your chosen language are very clear so you never miss out on anything. The guides bring you in so you are never caught up in long queues._br/_ What did let down the full day tour for us was the lunch, it was a cheap and basic, we were given 45 mins to eat and had to remind the waiter of this several times as the service was slow, needless to say we had to take our dessert with us to eat on the coach!. I suggest you do this trip in two halfs and exclude the lunch. You are not given access to the Sante Croce Cathedral you only see the facade.

What a wonderful place Florence is. We really enjoyed all the information our guide told us. Seeing the real David and not the numerous copies around Florence was amazing. I can't believe just how big it is and the unfinished works lead your mind to so many conclusion. I would recommend this tour to people that have a short time in Florence like we did and want to see as much as you can.

I don't often give full makes to events or tours but the full day tour in Florence was remarkable. I guess it helps when you have a wonderfully cultural and beautifully adorned gem like Florence to show off to bedazzled out of towners like us. Florence is a real gift from God. Our guides Fabio and Rosa (we did the full day tour) whisked us around with passion and dignity. Their wise and skilled description of so many exquisite works of art made me want to learn more. I studied Florence and Renaissance Art and Architecture at university and in true arrogance believed I knew a lot about Florence. But wow how little did I know. The ease in which Fabio and Rosa explained the Florentine passion and vision the more I felt like a school boy discovering Superman comics for the first time. What an adventure. Adored every second of the two tours. They were well organized and and extremely well chaperoned. I will be doing them again on our next visit.

Fabulous tour enjoyed by all my family including a 9 and a 10 y.o. Our guide was passionate and knowlegeable, and was able to infuse the tour with his passion and interest, especially in MicheIangelo's David. Well worth doing- if only to miss the massive queue at the Galleria dell'Accademia.

This tour was ridicolous. Our tour guide was rude, and had no idea what she was talking about (all her stories turned out to be fake). I do not reccommend this tour at all. total waste of money, unless you want to be told a load of garbage for 3 hours.

We took both the morning and afternoon tours. It was disappointing that the tour did not allow us to have a closer look at Fiesole and the tour guide who led the tour to view David was prone to talking too much and lecturing. Overall however, this was an excellent way to get a an overall view of Florence in one day. We plan to return and explore Florence in detail -this tour is enough to whet the appetite.

This was really two separate tours, a morning and an afternoon tour that each began at the same spot. We purchased lunch with our tour and it was very nice. There were two different guides, one for each tour. We booked an English tour and thought only English would be spoken, but there were three languages on our tour which meant the guide had to say the same thing three different times. The bad thing about this is that you might miss landmarks that were passing by because the guide was telling a group of people something in a different language. The tour was very good and offered a look at the major sites in Florence.

The tour was a great introduction to Florence. Learning more of the histtory was great and getting to know the lie of the land was extremely helpful. Best of all was our tour guide Rosalynd, who was not only exceptionally knowledgable and informative, but had a fantastic sense of humor and personality!

Great tour guide - experienced, knowledgeable, friendly. Comfortable bus service and gives a good orientation to all the sights. Plenty of extra information and hints for following up. I would always recommend this tour to anyone visiting Florence. I did this tour with a broken foot in a half leg caste and was able to keep up.

This was a good look at the highlights and the lunch was at an excellent restaurant. The only problem we encountered was locating the tour at the BUS stop needs to be included in the instructions. We looked for a group of people being lead by the tour person holding the sign. We missed the first day & had to reschedule.

We were very impressed with the service we received in Pisa from Viator. The coach was on time and we were met with a friendly smile. The guide was fantastic. Extremely informative with such a memory for detail we were quite blown away. Her name is Rosalyn Pio or something like that. Hence my fascination that she was able to remember so many wonderful facts about the history of Pisa and the Medici family! All in all a marvellous afternoon trip. 10 out of 10 and highly recommended. She especially made it fun for my 2 boys, aged 13 amd 10.

It was awesome! Our tour guide, Cecilia, was very knowledgeable and provided wonderful insight of the Eras associated to the paintings, sculptures, and historical buildings. We loved how much information was provided which in turn helped us appreciated what we were seeing. We also loved skipping the long, long, long lines! Waiting 2-3 hours would have been discouraging on our own. We were also impressed with the audio quality of the personal sets given out which in turn helped hearing the tour guide better specially when there was lots of people around. Love it! Would do it again via this website. The Ortegas from Weston, FL. 52010.
