Skip The Line: Best of Florence Walking Tour including Accademia Gallery and Duomo

Florence, Italy

Take a small group walking tour of Florence and visit the Accademia Gallery afterwards, to see Michelangelo's famous statue of David. Numbers are limited to a maximum of 20 people ensuring you'll receive personalized attention and audio headsets guarantee that you'll hear the guide clearly. And by booking ahead, you won't waste any time waiting in line at the Accademia Gallery!

Delve into the historic center of Florence on a three hour walking tour including the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, Uffizi Square, the leather market and Accademia Gallery. Your local guide will identify architecture from the Middle Ages and Renaissance eras as you stroll the timeless streets of Florence.

Visit the former Ancient Forum, now Piazza della Repubblica and a popular meeting place for writers and artists. Glance Ghilberti's Baptistry Doors, known as the 'Gates of Paradise' and be sure to rub the nose of legendary il Porcellino' the boar, so that you may one day return again to Florence!

Dominating the Florentine skyline, Brunlleschi's imposing Duomo never fails to impress. Enter inside the astounding Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore before devouring a delicious homemade Italian gelato or hot chocolate in winter if you prefer. Restrictions on entry to the Cathedral may apply on Sundays and religious holidays.

Next, skip the line into the Accademia Gallery and marvel at Michelangelo's 17 foot David and enjoy the rest of the gallery's artistic works at your leisure.

Tour company, driver and guide were excellent! We missed our train and they worked with us so we could meet them half way through the tour so we were still able to see the Last Supper. Lovely all the way around.

Good tour of the main areas of interest. The guide was very knowledgable. Would have liked a little more of the history of Florence. Great explanation of David.

Our guide Anna provided us with the interesting tidbits a visitor wouldn't get on his own. Seeing Michaelangelo's David and enjoying more gelato (included on the tour) made the cost of the tour worth it.

This tour with our guide Angelo was excellent. He explained the city, culture, history, the architecture, sculptures and art very well. This was an English speaking group and Angelo was terrific. We enjoyed the skip the line as this was an early morning tour and there were lots of people waiting to get tickets..

Good introductory tour to Florence especially if you don't have much time there. Guide Francesca was really good, provided a lot of information. Good overall history of the city and covers a bit of ground. Includes Accademia Gallery (just Statue of David) but not Uffizi. I would recommend doing a tour of Uffizi as we did it on our own and it would have been good to have had a guide. Headsets included but would have been good to have had a smaller group.

Don't even think of trying this yourself unguided. If you do you will waste valuable time in lines and miss the inspired guidance of Angelo. He not only gave us the facts and history but underscored the significance of the events. Well done Angelo.

Such a smart thing to do b/c the lines were incredible. Even at the Duomo where we had a "faster track," we had to wait a half hour, but the other line was 3-4 hrs long! Our enthusiastic tour guide was fabulous and her knowledge of Italy, the David and the "Prisoner" sculptures added so much to our appreciation of these incredible art pieces. Terrific!

The guide was wonderful, but the tour itself was a little light on value. we really enjoyed the walking aspect, but the improvement would be to add more depth to what we see... could have included more with Michaelangelo's house/visiting the tomb, etc. The Doumo should be first to avoid just long lines... and a bit more time on the art at the Accademia Gallery would have helped... just more depth and details to appreciate.

We did this tour on our first day in Florence and were so happy that we did. Our guide had wonderful reccomendations for the rest of our week, we had a GREAT overview of the city and it's history. This tour helped us get around the city and enjoy the history we absorbed the first day. The tour ended at the Accademia where our guide gave an excellent talk about this gallery. This is a must for all first time visitors!!! VIATOR will be my first choice for all tours on my next vacation regardless of the destisnation. I saw other tour guides and was very glad I picked VIATOR - Thank you

Our guide always pointed out what the people of Florence disliked about their city. I would have rather her focused on the beauty and history. Informed everyone that no one new how the dome of the Duomo was constructed. Funny thing - it was explained very clearly on the series "Engineering an Empire. Perhaps your guides need to do a little more home work.

Great tour - our guide very knowledgeable and passionate about her city - skip the line really worth it - the queues are a mile long with everyone pushing and shoving (very italian) - David is sooo beautiful and our guide provided a great insight into history of this iconic statue - do this tour its worth it.

Overall the tour was very good with a great overview of the major sites of central Florence. Of note, you definitely skip the linear the accademia but you do still wait in the general line at the duomo- not necessarily too long but just something to know. The stop at the gelato was perfect timing. Our guide was good, it did take some time to adjust and understand her explanations, possibly because of the quality of the audio equipment. Still, a good experience- would definitely recommend following this up with a climb to the cupola of the Duomo!

Interesting tour. All went as described on the website. Great way to see "David" without spending hours on line - definitely worth the price alone. Tour guide was great and gave us hints on other aspects of visting Florence - saving us lots of money on bottled water (use the public spigots to refill our bottles) and expensive expresso (stand up at any expresso bar and they can't charge you more than a Euro for an expresso, it's the law).

We didn't go into the Duomo as it was a Sunday, I feel that this was most misleading and a tour that includes the Duomo should not run on a day that it is closed! We would not have booked this tour with this knowledge. The Academy part was okay, although the tour guide was not as informative as a tour we took several years ago through a different company,

Our guide very knowledgeable and showed us some interesting sites and illustrated with facts. Only dissappointed was not to be able to go to the Duomo (last minute change we were told) and spending 30 minutes to get to the Accademia when you pay money for the visit to go a bit faster. Amazing to see the David so close!

I thought that this tour was just "okay". A lot of the sights that were visited could have easily been done on my own. The "Skip the Line" was misleading in my opinion because our group ended up having to wait 15 minutes to enter the Accademia Gallery. There was also a wait to enter the Duomo, but you do not need a ticke to enter the Duomo. If interested in seeing David at the Accademia, I would recommend some type of ticket in advance, but the other sights visited on this tour can easily be done on your own.
