Vespa Small Group Day Trip to the Chianti Wine Region

Florence, Italy

Take a tour from Florence with a difference - by vespa scooter! It's a fabulous way to tour the Chianti region of Tuscany with beautiful vineyards and rolling hills. An exciting alternative to conventional tours, this Chianti Scooter Tour gives you access to country roads so you'll discover more corners of this world-famous wine producing region of Italy. Ride through the hillside of Tuscany on a Vespa scooter and soak up the sights, smells and sounds.

Depart Florence in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan and travel to the Tuscany countryside. The scooter tour will begin with a 30 minute "orientation session" so you can practice on the Vespa scooter until you feel comfortable and ready to go out and conquer the famous Chianti wine region in Tuscany on your own. (It is highly recommended that you have previous driving experience on a Vespa, scooter or motorcycle - please see the Safety Notice below.) Vespa small-group day trip is limited to maximum 10, ensuring you'll receive personalized attention from your guide.

Ride along quiet and scenic country roads offering splendid views of the rolling hillside and visiting different small medieval villages in the heart of Tuscany. Next, you will stop for lunch at a castle to taste Tuscan specialities with a little tasting of some of the most famous Chianti wines and olive oils, locally produced.

Return to Florence approximately 4:30pm. Vespas are appropriate for anyone aged 18 and older. You must present a valid drivers license. Note, you do not need a motorcycle license. Children 12-18 years can join the tour as a passenger. Choose from the single scooter option or share with a friend on a double scooter - the choice is yours!

This was my favorite part of my trip to Italy. I'm so grateful that I stumbled upon Florencetown via this website. I had the best time touring the Chianti countryside with our guide. He was knowledgeable, amiable, and causal. He had a great time and insured that we did as well. I was traveling through Italy alone and this tour was my favorite part of all Italy. You get to be active, you get to be outside, and you get to see a part of the world you otherwise may not have been able to see. I highly recommend this particular excursion because it was a beautiful day spent. And believe the guide when he tells you, it's the best gelato you'll have in all of Italy :)

This tour was excellent and exciting. The tour guides were great. They give you time to learn how to ride the vespa and get ready to go. They keep a close eye on everyone. This tour is worth the money.

we had a blast on our Vespa tour, with one exception. the last person in our party to be trained didn't have adequate time to practice, because everyone else was impatient to get started. as a result, she had an accident and was scraped up. she had to ride in the vehicle, and I think if she had enough time to get used to the bike, she would not have fallen. otherwise, it was great. very nice guides who took good care of us.

Very organized, lunch was great the guides were very supportive and helpful (even after I had a small mishap on my scooter, my fault, the concern was for me and not the damaged scooter), highly recommended (if you do this, pay the insurance about 15 euro to the guys at the training, well worth the piece of mind). On the day we had various levels of experience and everyone did well.

We had bad weather but it was still an enjoyable tour. It would have been helpful if the booking confirmation included information regarding the required 15 euro cash per Vespa required for insurance. We were told that we could take our chances without insurance, however after seeing the shabby state of the Vespa's, we became concerned about what damage would and would not be pinned on us. This added cost was not appreciated.

brilliant day well worth the cost_br/_ excellent guides, enjoyed the stops at the deli and gelato shop, interesting tour of winery and olive pressing, excellent lunch with tastings of the wine and olive oil_br/_ dont expect the wine or oil to be inexpensive, i thought it was expensive though excellent

A really great experience! Jacopo and Andrea were terriffic guides (Andrea was especially helpful to my wife who hadn't ridden a scooter before). The stops and food were fabulous as was the scenery. Would do it again in a heartbeat and highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the true Tuscan region and sample some great food and wine in the process

Best part of our trip. Outside the city is beautiful countryside. Our guides were great. We made several stops along the way.....ate 'salty bread' with fresh goat cheese at a local shop, visited a winery with a great tour, wine tasting, and lunch, and visited another local shop for gelato dessert. Got to drive the scooters a long while, traffic was minimal, and scenery was plentiful. Was great fun!

Such a fun experience! I would recommend it to anyone going to the Florence area. The instructional session could've been a little bit more extensive before taking off on the road, but otherwise everything was great. I would love to go again sometime!

By far the coolest way to travel around Tuscany. We had an excellent time. As the speed isnt so high, you get to see a lot of the sceneries and it's definitely a very relaxing trip to make. The guides are fun young bunch and knowledgeable. Highly recommended is you want to get some fresh air and have a good time.

We had an AMAZING time. Our guides, Steve and Andre were chalk full of knowledge and were very approachable. The views were amazing. We had plenty of time to take pictures, ask questions, and soak in our surroundings. It was money well spent. If I go back to Florence, I would sign up for the tour again.

Having never been on a Vespa, the guides took their time with me and several others to teach us how to ride and gave us ample time to learn. I just couldn't do it! But they didn't want me to miss out on the experience, so they directed me to hope on with one of them. How great! Views that you want in your photos! Our group was larger then usual, but the company sent other guides to help out and be with us. Vanessa was wonderful, I asked her so many questions, she answered all of them and told me to keep asking! We laughed and she made this so much fun! There were several stops to see sites and to have snacks. The tour of the winery was good and the lunch that was included was fantastic! On the way back, even the stop for Gilato was included! A lot of bang for the buck! If you love the Vespa idea, this is for you!

My family did the Vespa Small Group Day trip through the Chianti Wine region, and it was one of my favorite things we did in Italy. The tour guides Andrea and Jacob were AWESOME. They were personable, entertaining, and knowledgeable. You could tell that they sincerely enjoyed their jobs which made the entire group enjoy their trip. We toured the beautiful wine region which was breathtaking, and the stops at the winery, cafe, and gelato stop were informative and delicious! You truly get the feel of Italy on this trip. It was well worth the money, and I would recommend it to anyone. One recommendation: Be careful on the Vespas and make sure to take your time training! They can be a little tricky if you don't have any experience.

Fantastic day, best tour we did in Europe. The tour guides were great and the scenery, wine and lunch sensational. The only negative was the up sell of insurance when we got the vespa location, probably wouldn't have paid the extra $18 each in retrospect as it was unnecessary

Had a wonderful time once we were on the road. The main tour guide, Andre, was horrible. Kept telling me I was going to crash, was rude and arrogant. Left me standing with my paperwork and insurance money and went to mop floors, told us not to go over 30 K but he was doing 50 and sometimes 60. Left half of the group behind and did not check on us. The assistant was wonderful and he helped us have a fantastic time. If it had not been for Jakoby, we would have been in the countryside completely lost. Very patient and kind and we had a great time with him. If you take this tour and get Andre as a guide I would request someone else.

I would recommend the Vespa tour very highly. Steve Mazza, our tour guide, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about the area and shared his information freely. He led the tour in a safe, enjoyable manner. Getting out of Florence and into the Chianti Hills was wonderful. The tour and lunch at the winery was excellent. All in all, a great day! Thanks.

This was a super fun trip for us. The instructors Steve and a guy with a "Jesus" t-shirt on were very patient in teaching us how to ride the scooters and just cool folks to hang out with. I thought I'd be pretty nervous, but they made sure I felt comfortable on the scooter before setting me free. Plus we learned a lot about the Chianti region and winemaking. The lunch they served was delicious too. I'd highly recommend this for anyone. though don't wear open-toed shoes if you're just learning to ride. some girl stubbed her toe while practicing.

This was without a doubt the highlight of our entire stay in Florence, the vespas are brilliant and our tour guide Andrea was amazing. He kept us safe with a good orientation lesson before we set off. On this tour we discovered some real treasure of Tuscany as we flew around the countryside on our shinny new vespas. We picked cherries in the courtyard, stopped for fresh cheese and bread, had lunch at the most spectacular villa - overlooking the whole of Tuscany. We had a great group of people and thoroughly enjoyed the day. If you only do one outside of Florence make sure this is it!

We had the best day with Andrea on the scooters. He had an excellent knowledge of the area and it's history. The ride gave us views of the Tuscan countryside that has ensured a return visit to explore it further will need to be planned. We were able to go at a pace that allowed even first time rider feel comfortable. Thanks for a great day!

It was fun, however it was rainy and windy it had been for a week!. i think it would have been nice if the company had a policy of being able to change the dates of the tour or a refund in case of bad weather condition. it's really not safe to be on those vespas going up hill or down hill in tuscany with the little streets and sleek roads. our guide was great though, steve. he made the tour worthwhile despite the weather. funny guy! and our group was fun.

We had a great day even though the weather was cool and a few showers. The tour guide was a local and the small group size ensured we all were taken care of. The winery tour with our guide was informative. Lunch was good and also the wine. The countryside was lovely and transfers all went smoothly.

We really enjoyed this tour. We had the opportunity to ride on the streets of the Tuscan countryside and had a very small group which made it really personal. We stopped at a local shop for a real authentic local snack. We also had an opportunity to stop for some of that Gelato that I ate so much of while in Italy. The lunch was good although the wine tasting was limited compared to the Tuscany in One Day Sightseeing Tour we did the day before. I guess they can't let you drink too much wine if you have to drive the Vespa after. The wine and olive oil tour was the most informative I've experienced which was very interesting. Had a little bit of a wait for the cyclists which was a little bit annoying. Overall, definitely worth it. An interesting tour with the ability to see some real local places and have beautiful scenery.
