Geneva City Tour and Boat Cruise

Geneva, Switzerland

Take an afternoon tour of Geneva, and see the best of this cosmopolitan Swiss city by coach, tram and boat! With a knowledgeable guide on hand, you'll see exciting Geneva attractions including the city's Old Town, the Geneva Water Fountain and Lake Geneva on your three hour tour.

Departing from a convenient, central location, you'll enjoy a relaxing tour around Geneva's famous attractions by luxury coach. You'll see popular sites including the Geneva Fountain (Jet d'Eau), an impressive feature that jets water to an altitude of approximately 140 meters (459 feet), besides the equally intriguing Geneva Flower Clock (Horloge Fleurie). Have your camera poised to take photos of the stunning dial that hovers over circular flowerbeds in Geneva's English Garden.

Your Geneva City Tour will continue with a tramway tour through the city's narrow streets and alleyways. You'll learn about Geneva's rich history as you travel by unique tram, before taking a walking tour around Geneva's Old Town with your knowledgeable, local guide.

Before returning to central Geneva, your tour will end with a 1-hour cruise around Lake Geneva, often referred to as Europe's most spectacular lake. Sit back and relax while taking in views of Geneva's UN building, the Castle of Bellerive and the water fountain. Lake Geneva is framed by the beautiful, snow-capped Alps, so seeing simply the mountains themselves are a fantastic highlight in their own right.

For those wishing to continue their afternoon of sightseeing, why not upgrade your tour to include a 2-hour coach tour around the Nyon countryside near Geneva? You'll finish your tour on a high after seeing the picturesque castles, vineyards and manor houses that are typical of this tranquil area.

This tour was great! We went all over the city, first in the tour bus then we switched to a little train and saw the old City. The lake cruise was also brilliant and as it was a clear, sunny day we could see Mont Blanc and the Alps. Magnificent.

The bus tour showed us relevant sights of Geneva which we would not have seen otherwise. The noise of the boat tended to overpower the commentary making it hard to understand.

This tour ruined for me by rude people who talked whilst guide was speaking in other than their own language and a man who conducted his business, loudly, on a mobile phone for the duration. Mobile usage should be banned from tours! Guide knew her stuff and some interesting information. One had to follow the pamphlet for the boat tour however, automated vocal announcements in a number of different languages, not all applicable to our Group - this segment disappointing. Glimpse of the old city was great.

Very nice day , enjoyed the bus tour. Our guide provided a lot of interesting information about Geneva. Our small train ride through old town Geneva was very overcrowded and not all that interesting. the boat ride was super enjoyable!

The tour was well organised and the guide was excellent. A lot was crammed into the tour but the boat trip allowed a more peaceful and leisurely way to understand Geneva._br/_ Any city tour is a must to get the feel of the city one is visiting, and even if it is noisy, and hectic that is how the city comes across, it may not be how you enjoy spending time but it at least allows you to then pick and choose a follow up tour to suit your tastes. This is exactly what I will do the next time in Geneva, I will take in the countryside tour next time as I am sure the travel company will do it just as well as they managed this one._br/_ So, take this tour by all means as it is well planned and executed and it gives you a good overall impression of Geneva.

The guide on the city tour tried to give us info in three languages and did not wait until the party was assembled before giving us details of the sites during the walking part of the tour . you should also be aware that a fair bit of walking is involved although this is not obvious from the tour description. The boat cruise was much the most successful of the tour

This was a very nice tour. The City Tour portion on the bus was well narated andi It should you all the important landmarks in the heart of Geneva. We did the bus tour the first day which allowed us to walk back to a few areas for a more detailed walking visit. We all liked the Boat Tour too. It was very relaxing, we saw jet d'eau up close, saw the riverbank and each received a drink ticket. This Tour was a great value for the money

The city tour via bus covered a lot of important landmarks. Next, the city walking tour was actually conducted in a little train that travelled around old town Geneva. It was a very nice experience. The boat cruise was equally enjoyable. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in becoming acquainted with Geneva!

The mini-train/tram tour was very uncomfortable. I was afraid that the bumpy ride would injure my back!

I felt this tour was lacking. As we rode around the city, the tour guide drove rather qulckly and casued for some missed photo opportunities. The cruise was boring and lacked historical information. We took this tour two days prior to President Obama being named the Nobel Prize winner and no mention was made that he was even nominated. However, it was noted the former Vice President Gore was nominated in the past but that was it. The tour guide lacked personality and it hendered the tour.

No chance to get off the bus and take photos and the boat cruise was canceled the day we went so it wasn't a enjoyable tour at all.

These packages were good. Unfortunately, it was raining but fortunately, we still managed to ride the train to bring out to the Old Town bearing with the wet seats because of quite strong rain. The boat cruise was also very nice. The taped guided tour was very helpful.

A good way to get to know the city, we were fortunate with the weather being sunny. The cathedral was closed for a private wedding so we did not get the opportunity to go inside. Good commentary.

The city tour was pretty quick, so I would suggest doing this when you first arrive and then you can explore in more detail the parts of the city you want. The lake ride was very nice, but we couldn't hear the speakers and found it a little difficult to follow the brochure to know what we were seeing. But it was still a great afternoon excursion.

They were both good tours, but we didn't get offered juice or champagne on the boat cruise. The history of Geneva was really interesting to listen to. The boat tour was a good relaxing time.
