Day Trip to Gruyères including Golden Panoramic Express Train

Set off and discover traditional produce while taking in Switzerland's landscapes on a full day combined coach and train trip from Geneva. Soak up the enchanting atmosphere at Gruyeres and admire the rolling hills and meadows as you descend the hills to Montreux, overlooking Lake Geneva and the towering Alps. In between, you'll savor chocolate, cheese and wine tastings to round out your full day trip.

We will first visit the chocolate factory of Broc (Nestlé - Cailler) where you can taste his famous chocolate. Will then continue our gastronomic discovery in a cheese-dairy where you will sample some local manufactured cheese.

Then you will have some free time in the village of Gruyeres to relax or visit his castle overhanging the entire Gruyere region. Next we will catch the Panoramic Golden Express, this train passes above the Lake Leman and permits to enjoy the panoramic view on the beautiful countryside around the lake.

After that, we will take the bus again to cover the Lavaux vineyards road, classified like one of the most beautiful place of this world by the Unesco, to reach the village of Epaisse.

It was outstanding and I loved it. It was good that the guides got the travelers involved in making fondue. It was a bonding moment, and it made for a good experience. got a kick out of sightseeing, seeing the chalets, the alps, and exchanging pictures, and laughs about the trip.

This was a fun package. We did not have enough time to enter into central Switzerland so we over night in Geneva and took this tour. The countryside was manificent and my favorite was foundue in the chalet, YUM!!! I wanted to give my mother a taste of Switzerland and this did.

The sites were beautiful! My only thoughts were that having a fondue lunch which was great in a town where cheese is made is not the same as touring a cheese factory. The same with the winery. Having a glass of wine in what was an absolutely beautiful restaurant is not the same as touring a winery.

I was under the impression that we would actually get to see a cheese factory at work and would also get to see a winery. We just had fondue, excellent by the way at a cheese factory that is not working anymore, and had a glass of wine at nice bar overlooking the vineyards.

This was the second trip we took with this tour operator on our European trip, and we found it to be wonderful, like the first. The guide was very friendly and well informed and spoke 4 languages. Everything was well organized and gave us a true flavor of Europe. The scenery was outstanding and the fondue making the best! We would use Viator for our next trip!

Extremely comprehensive tour of the area around Lake Geneva. I took the tour in October and the colors of the trees were fantastic! We did more on the tour than I had anticipated. Make sure when you visit Gruyeres to go straight to the castle to maximize your time in this majestic piece of history. Well worth the price!

The trip was more than I expected. The guide was fantastic, and informed us about many non-touristic things such as Swiss democracy. The visit to the chocolate factory was great for chocoholics, with a lot of chocolates to taste. After the chocolate factory, we went to an authentic cheese farm and got a chance to prepare and eat lots of cheese fondue. We then went to the charming town of Gruyeres and had time for a nice walk around the castle. We ended with the panoramic train ride to the hills of Montreaux, followed by a drink, before going back to Geneva. The only disappointment was that I thought we were going to taste wine at a vineyard and get a chance to buy some wine, but instead we just went to a bar. Overall, a great tour with a lot of variety of activities. I would strongly recommend it to anyone visiting Geneva!
