Explore the beautiful Swiss cities of Lausanne and Montreux on this relaxing and scenic day trip from Geneva. You'll drive through the beautiful Swiss countryside, enjoy free time in Lausanne and Montreux, and take a guided tour of the famous Château de Chillon, a stunning castle that sits on Lake Geneva.

Take off on a day trip from Geneva to explore more of the Lake Geneva area. Drive through the scenic Swiss countryside on your way to your first stop, Lausanne. The cultural center of Switzerland, Lausanne is a beautiful city surrounded by the Swiss Alps. After an orientation tour, you will have free time to stroll around the lake, visit the Olympic Museum or explore however you please.

Then, you'll take a drive along Lake Geneva, passing the famous towns of Vevey and Montreux to reach the Château de Chillon, a beautiful lakeside castle that is one of Switzerland's most famous monuments. You'll take a guided tour, and then board a traditional paddle boat for a short cruise on the lake, where you'll enjoy another stunning view of the castle.

Finally, you'll head back to the town of Montreux. You'll have free time to explore the charming streets, go for a walk along the lake or do some shopping.

On the return drive to Geneva, drinks will be served on the bus.

Trip was resceduled because of the volcano. They honored our originbal voucher. Guide was knowlegeable. Only negative was that it was raining which meant we did not have good views of the Alps across the lake.

I found the day's trip to be very enjoyable. Both the driver and the trip leader were very friendly and helpful. The information and presentation of history and information both on the bus and while walking in Lausanne was very interesting and enjoyable to learn. I especially liked the walking tour in Lausanne and seeing the main square. Chillon was also pleasant to visit, and that tour was very informative. However, I did not find Montreux necessary - we had about 40 minutes to walk around on our own, but by the time we arrived most stores were closed and there wasn't much to see or do. I would have rather had some extra time to walk around Lausanne or to see a more picturesque town - Montreux with it's casinos and palm trees and expensive desginer stores just didn't impress me. I did love the 50 minute boat cruise, however, and the view was breathtaking! All in all, it was a very enjoyable day.

This was a really nice trip. The Chillon castle was wonderful, but the boat cruise from Chillon to Montreaux was a little disappointing. It was time to jump off the boat even before we settled in. Overall, it was a decent experience.

Good tour. It is definitely good to have the voucher, as they had to turn people away from this tour the day we went. The tour guide was very good and animated. The weather improved and it stopped raining, so we were able to enjoy the towns without an umbrella. The drive between Lausanne and Montreaux is beautiful. The only negative was that in Lausanne, we left Old Town to be taken to the shoreline for lunch on our own. We only had an hour, and would have preferred to stay in the Old Town where there were many cafes, a farmer's market, and shops. The shoreline didn't have much, and there was not enough time to grab lunch and see the Olympic Museum before getting back on the bus. The Castle Chillon tour was very good and we did have a little time to enjoy the Jazz Festival in Montreaux before catching the boat to the to see the castle.

Our guide was fabulous, and the view from the road between Geneva and Montreaux alone was worth the price of admission. This was my second Viator tour and I've not been disappointed.
