Loch Ness, Glencoe and the Highlands Small Group Day Trip from Glasgow

Glasgow, United Kingdom

Take the high road to the Scottish Highlands and Loch Ness on a small group day trip from Glasgow. You'll travel through beautiful Glencoe, admire the spectacular Highlands and spend time at Scotland's famous Loch Ness an absolute must on any visit to Scotland!

With a maximum group size of 16 passengers, you are sure to have a memorable and personal experience on this special day trip to the Scottish Highlands. Traveling in a small group means you can reach out-of-the-way places to discover the real Scotland!

Head north towards the Highlands along the "bonnie, bonnie" banks of Loch Lomond - Scotland's largest Loch. Continue into the Highlands to reach the most dramatic of all Highland glens, Glencoe. This area is steeped in history, and you will hear the truth about the infamous 1692 massacre of Clan MacDonald.

Journeying through Fort William, site of the military post built during the Jacobite Rebellions in the 18th century, you'll continue up the Great Glen, between Fort William and Inverness.

After lunch at Fort Augustus on the shores of Loch Ness, you have the option of visiting the dramatic ruins of Urquhart Castle or taking an hour-long cruise on the loch (not included).

Head back through Inverness, the Cairngorms National Park, and the countryside, where the TV series Monarch of the Glen was filmed. Continuing over the Drummochter Summit, where herds of red deer often graze, you'll visit the Victorian town of Pitlochry.

Continue through Perthshire and past Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument, commemorating Scotland's great hero William Wallace, played by Mel Gibson in the Oscar-winning movie Braveheart. Then just a short drive back to Glasgow.

The Scottish Highlands and Islands are Europe's last great wilderness! This personalized tour is as close as you can get to touring in your own car, with the added benefit of gaining intimate knowledge of Scotland. Traveling in a small group means you can take lots of stops and reach "out of the way" places, giving you more time off the bus to discover the real Scotland.

This trip was worth every penny! Scotland's pretty much heaven and that goes without saying. But going on a guided tour with a great guide and good transport was key. Thank you for making the trip a memorable one!

I was travelling with my brother and we both loved this tour. The Highlands and Lochs were amazing and our tour guide Juliet was really knowledgeable and friendly. I also spoke to the company on the phone twice and both times they were very helpful. There is a bit of driving but that's to be expected if you want to see Loch Ness from Glasgow in one day, and there was interesting commentary and photo stops to break it up a bit. Highly recommended.

It was our first trip to Scotland and we were lucky enough to have the same guide for the two tours that we took - Michael of Rabbie's is a great tour guide - he gave us a good history of Scotland - i don't think you can find a better guide - if all your tour guides are like him then i don't know why anyone will use any other tour company in scotland .. we will definitely recommend this tour company to all our friends ._br/_ scotland is a beautiful country - will definitely go back as there so much to see ...

We had an amazing day in the rain with dozens of brown frothy stream and waterfalls and every view more inspiring that the previous. Guide Michael (we had him for 2 trips, really terrific) was delightful, knowledgeable and able to impart his knowledge in the right doses. Courtesy and consideration and his driving were all great.

Our guide, Juliet was wonderful with a great deal of knowledge and a sense of humor. The trip was well-timed and gave us some breathtaking views. The trip is long but with quite a few stops - apart from the major ones - just to take photos. A must see day route of Scotland if you have little time. We really liked the idea of the small familiar group and mini van transportation. The possibility to take a boat trip on Loch Ness is the icing on the cake! Thank you Juliet@Rabbies!

The tour was interesting but it was very long. The first part of the day was really good and seeing Loch Ness was great (but very cold). The trip to Inverness and back to Glasgow was very very long and there was not an awful lot to see.

This tour was so much better than I'd expected and the ground covered was fantastic. Obviously it only allowed a fleeting visit to all the places covered but we saw so much and the weather was perfect which was an added bonus. The driver/guide, John, was very pleasant and knowledgeable. It was so good having a lunch stop where we could please ourselves what we did and I spent the time walking around the pretty village on the shores of Loch Ness rather than being forced to sit indoors eating a meal I didn't want! It was a brilliant day and I give the tour top marks.

The tour was fantastic! Not your usual trip, always running around not having enough time to enjoy everything because the guide is trying to get rid of you. Our driver and guide, George, was brilliant! Gave us plenty of information, answered every question and he made the trip pleasant till the last minute! Thanks for giving us a great day.

Great trip! It is a long day, with much driving between points of interest, but this tour allows one with a limited amount of time to see a great deal of the beautiful Scottish countryside. The coach was extremely comfortable, and our guide David Campbell was knowledgeable and entertaining. His amusing anecdotes and personal charm made the day a lot of fun for my entire family. The tour begins in a convenient location George Square, Glasgow and returns twelves hours later to the same spot. The cost was very reasonable, too.

we enjoyed the trip to Loch ness and the highland. The tour guide, Ms Andrea and the driver sorry I dont know how to write his name, are very nice and provide us wonderful information during the tour. It makes our long trip seems to be shorter with their stories, especially the songs that Andrea sang to us. I highly recommended the tour to those who have limited time in their visit to Scotland.

The tour guide was very friendly and helpful and had a good disposition. Accent was a bit hard to understand over the PA. The trip was just a bit long at the end and wish we'd had a few more stops along the way, but we covered a huge distance. Would recommend it, though.

Good day out albeit a little bit too long. Stating that they go to Inverness is true but only to drive through, no stops, so I would prefer just the Loch trip next time instead, but I will go again with Rabbies.

I cannot rate this tour accurately because we were in a blizzard for most of the tour. The coach was comfortable, the driver had impeccable driving skills and he had a wealth of knowledge and stories. This is the longest-driving day tour available in Scotland. So the aforementioned are very important most of the tour is spent in the coach. We nodded in and out of a Dramamine-induced coma, but when we were awake, we were climbing the hill behind a cafe at Loch Lomond, staring through the mist and freezing rain of the ruined castle on Loch Ness, and shopping, shopping, shopping for silly stuff to gift. The "luxury" hot chocolate at the cafe on Loch Lomond was indeed luxurious! So deelish. Love Scotland.

This is a GREAT tour. The Scottish Highlands are simply amazing, and our tour guide was full of interesting stories about the history of the clans that lived in and around the area. Loch Ness is very plain, it's just a lake after all - but the journey to Loch Ness was gorgeous. Perhaps consider taking the Highlands tour.

I was disappointed that the tour I booked had to be cancelled as the highland roads were closed due to snow. However, the company managed to give us an alternative trip to Wallace Memorial, Stirling Castle and a drive through to the southeastern banks of Loch Lomond. At least I got to see Loch Lomond.

this trip spends a lot of time in the van but I would recommend it for anyone who would like to see this area. I enjoyed our tour guide, I think his name was, he was very nice and very approachable. Glencoe was beautiful as was Loch Ness. If you are staying in Glasgow but would like to venture out a bit this is a great option

I have been in Scotland for very first time and I loved the trip, We have seen beauty of nature, learnt a lot of from history, hear a lot of jokes, I and my friends have had great time. The driver has been really great, good driver, good history teller, and we have spent good time. Pity we haven't seen any Lochness monster ,my friends 6 years old son has cried, he has wanted to se it so badly. - But we have showed him nice pic from boat and he has calmed down. Thank you. It was great and very relaxed and even very edutetional trp. The best conbination ever. I would love to book another trip with the same driver for my boyfriend and myself with friends in 3-4 months into Scottlands highlands somewhere for 3-4 days. I am sure you could advise me good hotel as well. All people about 4-9 , I dont know how many will have free time in the same time, yu know everybody is busy,... however after talking to me about my experiences from Lochness trip everybody is hot ready for one too THANK YOU A LOT IT WAS GREAT, I do regret only one thing , would really welcome if we could give some tip to driver, he was really good.
