Get off the beaten track and discover the rainforests of the Gold Coast Hinterland by 4WD. This full-day tour takes you to the volcanic plateau of Tamborine Mountain, and then onto Lamington National Park and the famous Treetop Walk at the family owned O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat.

Follow the original pioneers track up Tamborine Mountain along hillside trails and through the rainforest in a purpose built 4WD. Stop for a delicious morning tea of scones, jam and cream at Gallery Walk, where you can browse the galleries and pick up a trinket at a souvenir shop.

Take a guided walk into the subtropical rainforest and discover the history and culture of the Aboriginal people who used the forest as a source of food and medicine. See beautiful cascading waterfalls, towering trees and hear the calls of the native birds.

Enjoy a barbecue lunch at Spring Valley and swim in the nearby rock pools. Have a go at whip-cracking and learn to throw a boomerang.

After lunch arrive at O'Reilly's Plateau and the family owned Rainforest Retreat. Hand-feed native birds or take to the trees with a treetop walk, where you can walk through the canopy for unparalleled views. See beautiful tree orchids and ferns, birds and even koalas sleeping amongst the branches.

On the return journey, take in the magnificent views of mountains and valleys as you descend the mountain. Travel through lush pasture lands and see wallabies and kangaroos grazing.

We had a very enjoyable day around Lamington and Tamborine Mountain. Our guide, Roy, was a very friendly and engaging personality who brought to life the way the area had been developed over the years and highlighted the development of the national park structure and how it works with local landowners. The highlights were the off-road section where we spotted wild koalas. Later in the day we saw kangaroos and wallabies and then we fed the wild parrots on the O'Reilly property, finishing off with a visit to a bat colony. The pace of the tour was good with ample time in-between visits for tea and lunch. We highly recommend that anybody who visits this part of Queensland should try this tour.

had excellent guide, Roid. Made the whole day special , made special effort to find as many animals as possible, took extra time to see everything. Cooked great lunch. Really enjoyed the 4WD, sometimes 4wd is not even close to 4wd experience but this one was great. We have been 4WD trips for many many years. As husband is deceased did not think I would get to do that again. Just one fun day

Enjoyed the 4wd component, driver was very friendly and had lots of knowledge of the areas we went to. Maybe could have a bit more time at some stops i.e O'Reilly's.

My wife and I absolutely enjoyed this tour! Our tour guide was excellent, knowledgeable, humorous and made the whole trip really fun! The sights and views from the mountain top was stunning and the breakfast scones and BBQ lunch were really good. We rate this number 1 among the tours we did not that the others were no good - they were great too. Highly recommended! Well worth it!

We saw the real Australia here. We had a friendly tour guide who was very helpful. Lunch was also good. We learned to crack whips and throw boomerangs properly. I would definitely recommend this.
