The bus driver was very knowledgable and gave us an excellent tour out to the Chocolate factory. I was disappointed that we couldn't go into the actual factory! The river cruise was magical and the lunch was delicious.

Bit disappointing, the cruise was unavailable on the day we booked, and the tour didn't exist, just a 10 minute film.

Cadbury chocolate factory component was not a tour, it was a 15 minute description of how chocolate is made, the remaining 45 minutes could be spent purchasing chocolate from the shop or eating/drinking at the cafeteria._br/_ The derwent river cruise was 30 minutes from MONA museum back to the Hobart starting point and included a small sandwich with a drink. Overall I was not satisfied with this tour and would not recommend it for your visit to Hobart._br/_ I would not reccommend this tour to anyone I know.

Had a terrific day. Our coach driver was absolutely fantastic. He gave a running commentary all the way out to the factory which was valuable for us as we hadn't seen much of Hobart. Once we were at Cadbury the tour included a good run down of the making of chocolate and plenty of time to buy things at really good prices. Half a day well spent.

The Cadbury Tour was great. Great presentation and demos from the Cadbury's staff. We got a block of chocolate as we walked through the door. The Cruise was not very impressive. It was more like a ferry service instead of a sightseeing cruise.

Not worth the price. The 'cruise' is on board a ferry to and back from MONA (museum) and 'lunch' was a roll from the bar.

What a let down. You no longer tour the factory. Save your money and buy some chocolate.

Non entry to factory was not advised prior to booking tour, found out on Bus. We were not told when to collect our lunch and would have missed out if we hadn't asked for it.

The tour of the Cadbury Chocolate Factory was a bit of a disappointment. However, the Derwent River Cruise was excellent and now affords an opportunity to visit the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) as well.

Bit of a rip off, and the river cruise is beautiful but boring. The food was terrible too. However, the Chocolate factory was a very fun tour, though due to safety precautions you can't see the actual machines working. They did have samples, examples and lots of explanations. It was great, and i learnt a lot.

It was very easy to book the tour online. I discovered I made a mistake with the date but, this was easily solved without any fuss.

This was actually a combination of two smaller tour activities. Pick-ups, transfers and direction between activities was smooth and organised, so that the whole morning was very enjoyable, without being rushed for time.

It is not a factory tour, only a visitor centre. And the river cruise with lunch and refreshment is a bread roll and a soft drink. There is no guarantee that you will make the river cruise as the river cruise will not wait if the drive from the chocolate factory is running late. It wil leave without you. Our chocolate tour got cut short in order to make the cruise.

Not really long enough at Cadbury, you basically have to buy what you want quickly and get out. Cruise okay, very basic.

The trip was organised and as promised. Just curious why Cadbury charges to tour when there is no tour but a movie and display. After all a lot of money is being earned by their off sales.

A fantastic day. The luncheon was a little sparse with little choice, but was filling and healthy. The staff both in the office and on the cruise were first rate!

This was a great tour by bus and river cruise, and all questions were answered. They both had lots of knowledge of Hobart. It was a bit disappointing that at Cadburys we weren't able to walk through the Factory while they were making chocolate. However, apparently they are looking at reopening it so that we can walk through the factory again when safety measures have been implemented. When this happens I will definitely rebook. The bus tour guide very friendly and helpful, and the cruise staff were very friendly also.

Since 2008, you are no longer able to tour the Cadbury factory itself, only the visitor centre. It would have been helpful to know this beforehand! The river cruise was lovely, although the light lunch was VERY light, a salad roll.

This was most enjoyable. Unfortunately workplace health and safety laws forbade us from seeing the process, but we were shown an informative video with a live presenter on hand to answer any questions. The staff at Cadbury were friendly and helpful which added to the enjoyment.

I was very disappointed that there was no tour of the factory and that the cruise didn't go from the factory. I would've gone on another cruise instead had I realised that we were going back by coach.

The fire alarm went off before we sat in on the talk about the history of Cadbury Chocolate so we spent our limited time there on the lawns out front where staff tried to make light of the situation with free chocolates. The tour does not include even a viewing of the actual chocolate making process. I found the whole experience mundane and boring.

Was not what i had expected at all. I did the Cadbury tour many years ago which included a guided tour throughout the factory. This time we sat in a little room, was given a mini presentation, watched a DVD for 10-15 minutes and that was it. I would not have wasted my time by having to get up extra early to be on time to find we were just going to watch a DVD. It was raining on the cruise and couldn't see clearly out of the windows due to the fog and rain. Unfortunately, I felt it was a complete waste of time and money.

The cadbury chocolate factory was not worth going to. All you do is sit and watch a video, which I wish we had been told before we went as we would not have bothered. After the video they just push you through to the factory buy chocolates. The chocolates are not that much cheaper and I feel the chocolates are stale. Also we were pushed through by the bus driver. We got told we had to be back for the river cruise by 11.30 but the cruise didn't leave until 12.00 so we were sitting around for half hour. The cruise was great I would only do the cruise if I did this again.

We were disappointed that the river cruise did not run from the Cadbury Factory back to Hobart. They did supply a lunch cruise on the harbour but as we had already done that two days before one cruise was a waste of our money.

Review by: Dianne G May 2008
This tour was completely misleading and totally boring. There was no tour of the Cadbury factory. The Cruise was the ugliest scenery I could ever waist my time with. The lunch was pathetic. There was also no return transfer at the end of the day and had to walk for miles to catch a cab in freezing cold with 2 children.

I know they had to stop the tours, but I had waited a long time to go around the factory and was really disappointed when it was a ten minute DVD, and then we were escorted to the chocolate shop. I feel the money we paid was not relevant to what we got. I paid that price for a complete tour and was only notified after I paid that a tour was no longer available. I would not have booked it otherwise, and we actually saw a similar tour for a vastly reduced price when we went down to meet the bus. Sorry, but this was very disappointing.

The coach trip and the tour of the factory was excellent, however, we were very upset when on the return boat cruise our children were not given lunch as we had paid for and it clearly stated on our ticket voucher. The hostess was most unhelpful and other families with children were treated the same. Luckily for us other travellers who had seen what was going on offered their lunch to our children. We were going to complain when we got to the dock at Hobart but could not find anyone.

Loved the tour, but the voucher times were confusing. The factory tour was very informative and as soon as we were off the bus the aroma of chocolate hit our olfactory nerves and we were off to chocolate heaven. Free samples before and after and just the sight of chocolates on the conveyor belts was fantastic. It was great to get there, with my 11 year old daughter, as this has been an ambition of mine since I was about 11!! Very good.

The cruise and bus ride were very interesting and informative, but the factory tour was a bit boring. It needed to have more emphasis on the fun side of chocolate - the company should have some fun mascots and more free stuff, and better interaction is needed so the kids aren't bored.

I would love to do it all again. It is fascinating to see how the products I love are made. I went mad in the chocolate shop too. Yum! We had a comfortable trip out in the bus and the cruise back was great. The delicious light lunch was just right. A great way to spend a morning!
