Due to personal circumstances we had to change the date of our cruise - the person on the phone was most helpful and the change was made. The commentary and light show music on the boat were initially difficult to hear, however the speakers were fixed in the early part of the the cruise. Unlimited drinks. NIce cruise around the harbour - light show is spectacular.

We were expecting an authentic chinese junk as stated, but what turned up was a boat that looked like a chinese christmas tree and not the junk we were looking forward too, I think you may need to review your description and describe the actual boat being used, Authentic, I don't think so. Besides that everything else was great.

The weather was overcast, cloudy and rainy during our February 15-17, 2012 stay in Hong Kong. We did not take the Symphony of lights Hong Kong Harbor Cruise. Having spoken with several other international travellers, we were advised that this tour was nothing really special. We ended up viewing some of the lights from our hotel room. Doubt I will rebook this excursioin if and when returning to Hong Kong.

Good introduction to HKG, enjoyed the visit to Aberdeen Harbour and the optional sanpan trip, also enjoyed the tram ride. Did not enjoy the jewellers, not my style to be herded into a place and given the 'hard sell' . Also, the Stanley Market was just another market anywhere. The tour guide was very good but we could have done without the photographer

I believe this tour is pretty much a waste of time and cash. The lights can be seen just as well from vantage points around the city. The staff on the boat were absolutely not interested in us being there - terrible!

Bit disappointed by the Symphony of Lights. Also felt a little harassed by the barman as everytime we went up a drink (which were included) he gesticulated at the tip box. The harbour itself is stunning.

The boat is more of a floating barge and was overpriced. You see these nice ships all over the harbor and I expected this to be one of those. Not by a long shot.

Definitely print out the voucher, rather than relying on your smartphone to deliver the e-voucher at the dock (no free wifi available, possible 3G issues depending on which country you're phone is coming from). The cruise itself is as billed: Lights, open bar, some narration about the skyline as you glide past.

Trip as booked was excellent. However it was advertised as having a free bar. The reality was that people were expected to make a "donation" to a basket sitting on the counter evrytime they asked for s drink, The barman would point to the basket each time a drink was asked for!!!

This was a wonderful experience and so worth doing. The free bar was brilliant as you sailed on the night sea watching the lights of Hong Kong. It gave us a different perspective of Hong Kong and you could not help fall in love with the place.

The harbour cruise would have been good, shame about the American sailors that were on the tour that proceeded to get drunk, swear and be obnoxious to other tourists on the boat. The tour was ruined because of this, not happy. The staff on board did not nothing to calm the idiots (US sailors) down and or refuse them alcohol when they were clearly and demonstrating a high level of drunkeness.

We thoroughly enjoyed the company on the boat and the drinks flowed freely. However, the laser light show was acceptable but not like the ads! Also,where we picked up the boat on the pier was not marked at all. It left us very unsure whether we were in the right place. Other tour companies had staff on the pier to advise their passengers with bookings of where to wait etc. The trip was worth the money though:)

The tour started out fine...except that there was no-one at the pier to greet any of the people going on the tour. _br/_ The tour started our promising. There was a commentary about the Symphony of Lights we were about to see and that that there was an open bar. The Symphony of Lights was good and we enjoyed that. Then we moved down the river whilst being given a commentary about the history of Hong Kong. We ended up at a dock to pick up a large group of people who had gone out for dinner. Aparently as per the announcer on the boat, we were giving them a lift back ..... unfortunately a majority of them were already intoxicated and it made the atmosphere on the boat not as pleasant as it was at the beginning of the tour. It became loud and noisy. What started out as a lovely peaceful cruise of the river ended up like a Contiki Tour. The whole tour lasted 1.5hrs. The first half of the tour was great but unfortunately it deterioated after that. I was glad to get of that loud party boat and enjoy the lights of the city from the dock instead.

I enjoyed the Symphony of Lights however was disappointed with the type of junk used for the cruise. I Had imagined it would be a junk with sails and no roof. It was however a large boat with a roof which constricted the view of the lights, especially as they display from both sides of the harbour. I did notice a junk with sails lit up in red and cruises the harbour each night. This type of vessel would be a better option for a cruise such as this.

This was a pleasant , relaxing and romantic evening on the harbor. Unfortunately the actual light show was not as spectacular as the pictures show, however the lights of the buildings were sensational._br/_ The open bar was very good, the snack small 'packets of peanuts' were interesting._br/_ I would certaily not have missed it.

I was a bit disappointed-for some reason I expected more colour and being on a boat it was hard to see both sides so ended up trying to see both and therefore probably missing out! Might have been simpler to watch from land...?

Would be better starting a bit earlier to see more of the lit area before the "show" starts. Once "show" over the sailing up and down the harbour became a bit tedious as lights on shore became less spectacular.

You get some lovely views of the skyline from the cruise, and we didn't have any of the problems other reviewers mentioned about finding the meeting point. It's clearly enough marked as long as you arrive in time to find your way around. The open bar was good with generous measures, and the boat wasn't too busy, so it was easy to move around for the best views.
