Krakow in One Day Sightseeing Tour

Krakow, Poland

For over a thousand years, Krakow has been the center of science, culture and art in Poland. Come and see for yourself upon boarding the Krakow City Sightseeing Tour by Coach. You'll see the likes of Wawel Castle and Cathedral, the Rynek Glowny, Main Market Square and St Mary's Church. It's a fine introduction to this historic city!

Your tour begins with a short walk along the streets of the former Jewish district of Kazimierz. Next, Wawel Hill, crowned by Wawel Castle and Wawel Cathedral and the seat of royal power up until the 17th century. The Castle was home to many Polish kings and queens and the royal crypts in the Cathedral their final resting place, along with several other Polish heroes.

A walk up Grodzka street leads you to the heart of Krakow, the Rynek Glowny, or Main Market Square. There the large Gothic Cloth Hall is the perfect place to shop for local souvenirs.

The last sightseeing stop is the twin-spired St Mary's Church with its famous medieval altar by Wit Stwosz and where, every hour the brave trumpeter of Krakow still calls out his warning.

Very informative. Being Palm Sunday, the churches the guide took us into were extremely busy and this was very embarasing!! Would suggest that Including church interiors on Sundays is given a miss! Apart form that it is well worthwhile.

This was very informative and interesting. I only wish the shuttle picked up from my hotel and I didn't have to walk each morning.

My sister and I really enjoyed seeing Krakow with our guide, Conrad. He was knowledgeable and very entertaining. Among other sights, we saw Wawel Cathedral and Castle (amazingly beautiful), Kazimierz Jewish district, and the Main Square including Saint Mary's Church. We saw a great deal of the city. I highly recommend this tour.

Despite the rain the guide took us through the city and she was excellent dealing with a group of varying ages and from differnet countries around the world. We came away appreciating this beautiful and cultural city

Great walking tour to see the city in just a couple hours. However, wish there was time to go down to the Dragon's Den in Wawel Castle.

There was a lot more walking than the information on the tour lead me to believe. This was a problem for one of the people travelling with me.

this tour is an half day tour, which we found very interesting and it gets your bearings of the city, the main attraction of this tour was of cause the wawel castle and cathedral which were amazing, just a pointer of any one thinking of visiting the cathedral especially women make sure you either have clothing that already covers your shoulders or take something with you that ,will as are spot on when entering the cathedral. i would recommend this tour if asked.

The guide (Julia) was very good but the trip was only for half day whereas we were led to believe that we were paying for a full day.

Was pleasantly surprised that they still ran the city tour on the morning I went as I was the only one going. The guide was both knowledgable and friendly and most of the tour done on foot which was good. Be aware you are dropped off in central Krakow at the end of the tour.

So glad we booked this on my birthday (SJ) and not Auschwitz/Birkenau. I don't think I could have survived being 60 on such a day in such a place. This trip was most interesting, informative and well executed. The English-Speaking guide was attentive, but walked much too fast in parts for our poor legs to keep up, and she had to stop and wait for us on several occasions. Otherwise, walking and steps apart, the Wawel Castle (vavval) and Church, with the wonderful Art work, and decor, the furniture, etc were equal in comparison to Konopiste Castle in Czech Republic last year, and better preserved than the Czesky Crumlov in Czech Republic last ear._br/_ All told, the tour showed us parts of the town, the Main Market Square, explained about the Kazimierz district, and King Kazimierz etc, and the division he instigated between the Jews and the Gentiles - the wall, the remains of the old wall - all explained well, in detail, but for me, (SJ) going back to the 1100's is of no real interest. I want to EXPERIENCE a country and it's current culture, not it's antiquities. However that is not what we are offered wherever we go. It is always Centuries old news, and dates and History do nothing for me. Reality does, and the graffiti in the Jewish area shows a lack of respect for the 200 Jews left out of what was once (1941-43) 70000 souls. THAT is tragic!

Tour was exactly as expected. Krakow is an interesting city and this tour gave a brief glimpse into its highlights. Could be used as a quick introduction and then Krakow can be explored in more detail on ones own.

Very good introduction to the city. We went back to the castle and St Mary's church the following day for more casual wandering. Definitely a good overview of the Old Town area.

Very good but confusion at the end of the tour as it was not made clear that the minibus didn't take you back to your hotel but you were expected to find your own way back from the main square. Change in working would be good as just staying tour ends in the main square doen't really explain that you don't get taken back to your Hotel. Also to explain a fair amount of walking is included in this tour and you are not just sat on a bus being driven around the city, other wise the tour was very interesting.

Tour was good but the service of hte local tour company is very bad. They argue with customers and skipped my hotel and not icked me up and argue I was late while I was over 10 minutes early and never saw them come by. I cannot miss an entire big tour bus in front of my hotel.

We nearly missed this trip as we were not picked up when we expected to be, forunately another tour company guide took us in her bus to rendezvous with the Krakov Tour. Some of the prior info we had was a little misleading, we were not aware that there was so much walking on this tour, it wasn't a problem, just that the amount of walking was unexpected. It was of course extremely interesing in retrospect as we were shown all around the place where the President and his wife were to be buried. The guide was very good.

The pick up was prompt, efficient and pleasant. The change over to another coach at the Crakovia Hotel was well planned. The guide was very knowledgeable, spoke clearly and ended the tour just in time to see and hear the trumpeter from the bell tower. Excellent.

The Old Town of Krakow is actually very compact. However, we wanted to make the very most of our time, and this tour allowed us to see all of the must-see highlight of Krakow. Furthermore, we saw some things that I am certain we would not have seen without our knowledgeable guide.

My wife and I enjoyed this tour very much. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. In the short time that we had, we saw a lot. I think a longer tour could provide greater insight into such an interesting city as Krakow, but there is only so much that you can do in four hours. Overall, it was a good value for the money.
