Grand Canyon South Rim Bus Tour with Optional IMAX

Las Vegas, United States of America

Sit back and relax as your coach driver takes you on a narrated journey from Las Vegas to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. You can upgrade your tour to include discounted tickets to the incredible IMAX footage of the canyon at the National Geographic Visitor Center on the only South Rim bus tour that makes a stop at the center.

On your exclusive stop at the National Geographic Visitors Center you'll enjoy lunch (included) before viewing National Geographic's exhibits of the Grand Canyon, including the amazing photo gallery.

You'll get a spectacular taste of the Grand Canyon if you attend a screening of the most watched movie in IMAX history, The Grand Canyon Discovery and Adventure. The footage captured by airplanes, helicopters, hang gliders and canoes is truly incredible.

Next, it's on to the National Park where you will visit the two most spectacular lookouts, Mather Point and Bright Angel Lodge. Take a hike along the various trails to lookouts such as Mather Point, visit the historic El Tovar Lodge, shop for souvenirs or simply sit and gaze at the awe-inspiring beauty of this seventh wonder of the natural world.

There is approximately 1.25 hours at each look out point and 1 hour at the Grand Canyon IMAX Theatre.

Helicopter Upgrade:
Why not upgrade your tour to include an approximate 30-minute helicopter flight over the amazing Grand Canyon. There really is no better way to experience the magnitude of this wonder of the world. With this option you will not visit Mathers Point.

I had a wonderful time at the West Rim of the Grand Canyon. I loved every moment of my trip. The TeePee's and dancers were wonderful. The skywalk was incredible. The bus driver was entertaining. (we broke down and then transferred to Gene's bus) Everything was much more than I could have imagined!_br/_ Thank you

After we purchased our tour we had to upgrade it at the provider´s office due to lack of information in the weather conditions of the destiny. It would be of great help if you could post more information regarding this issue so that one can be preapared. In the south rim it was 1 degrees celsius so we had to switch to the west rim.

The trip began with a large crowd and long lines to get on the buses. Once that hassle was over, the trip was comfortable. The bus driver, Felix, was great. The stop at Hoover Dam is brief but spectacular. The three hours at the Grand Canyon also feels short given the number of hours on the bus, but it's a chance to see the Grand Canyon. The Imax movie had a made-for-children feel, but was informative and offered beautiful views from the canyon bottom. I think the trip was worth it._br/_ If you get back to your hotel and realize you left something on the bus, forget about it. You won't see it again in this lifetime. Welcome to Vegas.

Grand Canyon was awesome, it is a must see. Our bus driver "Lorena" was a quite weird, we arrived 2 hours late to our hotel, so it was a long trip!

when i was looking at booking a trip to the Grand Canyon i saw various prices and thought that the price for this tour must have been wrong as all the others on offer were costing a lot more, _br/_ also the thought of a 15 hour day did not appeal to me but this tour turned out to be a great and relaxing day. we were picked up from our hotel at 6.15am and taken to a large office where we were offered free juice and a pastry, we had to pay a $10 dollar processing fee ( why could it not be add to original price ).we then get onto our respective buses and leave about 7.45am, after a couple of hours we stop for lunch ( which is included and you get 3 choices ) a little later we stop at Mcdonalds for about 20/30 minutes then head to our first stop at the Grand canyon, we stop for 45/60 minutes before going another 15 minutes down the road to our next Grand Canyon viewing area where we have 30/45 minutes. The journey back included a 20/30 minute stop at the same Mcdonalds as earlier where you get the chance to buy food or just use the toilet, it takes about 90 minutes back to Vegas after this stop and then you should get dropped off at your hotel by the driver. I travelled in a group which inclued a 5 month old baby and found the whole day very enjoyable and it did not feel like a 15 hour day. Jim S, Aberdeen, Scotland.

We were told we could not bring backpacks on the bus and were restricted to 8.5" by 11" bags so we reduced and repacked our items into plastic bags which negatively affected our trip. (The backpack restriction was not enforced by the company so everyone else had their backpacks). The bus was approximately 25 minutes late in picking us up at the meeting spot (as it would not pick up the more than 8 passengers coming from our resort) which was inconvenient as we were bringing small children. There was a significant backlog in getting passengers onto the buses to depart for the Canyon so the first almost 3 hours of the day was not impressive.

Found Airbridge very well organized. We ended up on the "BUSIEST" day of the year according to the director, so it took a while to get people on buses. But it was well worth it, you just need to be patient. The bus ride is long, but I'm happy we sat rather than drove ourselves! Esp. for the return in the dark. The Canyon is something to see. A very long day, but very, very worthwhile. We're happy we saw the south rim. And the price with Viator was awesome!_br/_ TRICK : We didn't buy the IMAX movie, family of 4 is $60. Instead we bought the DVD of same movie for $20 (sure, we don't have an IMAX theatre in our house ha ha!)_br/_ Thanks for a great day.

This was a VERY long trip as we had a passenger who was a public disturbance and eventually was arrested! Sadly this meant that we had extremely limited time at the Canyon itself so didn't get the whole experience promised. We ended up with 2 of the 3 hours at the two Canyon lookouts. Obviously we don't blame the driver or the company but that and all of the hotel drop offs we were picked up at our hotel at 615am and dropped off at 1215am. I would also say that not having a guide in the bus was a bit of a letdown too as our driver had to speak to us and drive at the same time..

I missed the pick up bus from my hotel "Imperial Palace" as I did not get clear information about the location I should wait. I was standing on the shuttle bus pick up point and the pick up bus went through the tour bus depot. After this, I called the representative and he advised to take a taxi, which cost me additional US$ 40.

Trip was great except there was not enough time to spend at the grand canyon. We spend less than 2 hours there rather than advertised 3 hours. Tour bus was comfortable and the bus driver had a huge tip basket that she was desperate to fill at the end of the trip! It felt as if she was getting paid minimum wage.

The Canyon was amazing and well worth seeing. Mather point had the best view in my opinion. If you walk to the right there are better views and less people in my opinion. I would have liked slightly more time and this location compared to Bright Angel Lodge. The guide was good because if people were late she took the rest of us to the next location so we didn't miss out then went back for the others._br/_ The IMAX show was good but this stop is pointless if you don't see it (except lunch is there). In retrospect, I would have a helicopter ride (this is when they have it) here if I could afford it. However my boyfriend has done both and loves the IMAX film so perhaps it's a matter of opinion. _br/_ The other downside was the guide didn't say much for the 5hrs there or back which would have made it more intersesting. After having the death valley tour, i know it's possible to talk for that long and I would have found it interesting!

Driver was friendly and overall it was a good trip. The quality of IMAX is worse. Also the the driver took us 8 minutes late into a 30 min long movie. The IMAX theater sucks, i do not know if its the film itself or the projector lens, its not focused properly. The break times at McDonalds, i personally do not like, i would rather prefer a subway.

I enjoyed this trip but it is a long journey to and from the South rim compared to the optional West rim tour so be warned! It is about 10 hrs return on the coach for 3-4 hours at the Grand Canyon. It is nevertheless worth the ride if you want to see the Grand Canyon which of course is spectacular.(I cannot comment on a comparison with West rim tour as I havent been) I did the optional IMAX presentation which I personally thought was disappointing. Lastly the final stopping point on the coach offered no refreshment facilities whilst the stop straight after lunch did. As it was December and very cold I think there would have been benefit in switching the two stops around so hot drinks could be purchased immediately prior to boarding the coach for the long drive back._br/_ Otherwise a reasonably well organised trip which offered what you would expect but no more.

The view was absolutly amazing. Incredible and totally worth it to go there. BUT it was a 5 and a half hours to get there so BE PREPERED for a long trip. This trip is much further away than the west rim from Las Vegas, and even if this one is a little bit more cheaper, and the view is supposed to be better, I still think that it might have been better to get the west rim trip

What a fabulous tour. Our Tour guide cum driver, Walter is excellent. The helicoptor ride is to-die-for. Its a must to go at least once. The only problem is we were charged double for the processing fee. The tour provider keep pushing ppl to go to the north rim and said that its consider an upgrade.

Bus ride was very long. It wouldn't have been such a problem if there weren't other uncooperative passengers who wouldn't make a seat change and hold up the entire bus for a good 45 minutes to an hour! They paid good money for it and so did I. My rights to enjoy my trip was robbed just like they didn't get their window seat. As a result, the trip was very rushed. Not very pleasant.

The tour including the Imax show was great. However it was a very long day. Was picked up from the hotel at 6:20am and dropped off at 11:15pm. They wasted almost two hours in the morning to pick up people and then take us to their office to separate for different tours, brief, give us a ticket and then put us in separate buses. This was unnecessary. _br/_ In spite of such a long tour, our driver and guide Lorena was fantastic.

The trip itself was excellent with a very informed driver and comfortable coach. However administration problems at the start meant from hotel pick-up to tour actually starting was two and a half hours due to overbooking and our coach not being ready. A whole bunch of us were standing outside as instructed for 45 minutes waiting for our bus._br/_ That aside I enjoyed the tour and assuming the admin problem was a one off I would recommend the tour to others and would use Viator again.

We were picked up at out down town hotel ontime, everything was on schedule with minimal wait time. Our bus was full, not a lot of leg room for a very long day but the long day was what we booked. The Canyon was awesome, spectacular views. Bus driver very pleasant and full of information. All in all a very enjoyable day.

I'm glad we got to see the Grand Canyon. But I'm frustrated with the whole trip. We knew going in it would be a long day, in all it was 18 hours, a few more than I thought. I think a big part of our problem was due to the bus driver. Excess stops at McD's, slow driving, then being rushed at our actual destination stops. Her commentary on the tour was mostly "chater" and she swapped around GC stop 1 and 2 because she thought 2 was better than 1. Which we disagreed and missed out on things at the 2nd Canyon stop because they were already closed. All in all, it was very frustrating and disappointing. Also aggravating was the wait on other passengers disrespect for departure times at all stops. I had considered renting a car and doing the drive ourselves, I thought this would be more enjoyable than that, but felt rather disappointed and wishing we had rented a car instead.

Bus driver courteous._br/_ There was a delay at loading station where we were all together before dividing up into groups causing 1/2 hour delay beginning trip._br/_ Breakfast was disappointing...rolls prepackaged._br/_ Reading lights in upper deck of bus did not work...even after a special request was made by passenger. Started off with stressful situation due to overbooking. Took 45 minutes for 6 people to give up seats before start. Felt rushed all day and did not spend enough time at South Rim due to late start-Very disappointed as we booked months ahead of time. Tour organizer admitted his mistake in overbooking the tour. The bus driver did her best in a situation that was not of her making due to the loss of time.

It was an experience that we should never forget. Great. Pity about the IMAX. When we arrived at the payment counter we were requested to pay an additional $10 (we were told about it). But we were requested to pay an extra $15 each for the pleasure! We should have been told that in fact it was not $10 but $25. A BIG DIFFERENCE!

I think for as many people that attended, things were well organized. The bus was comfortable, and driver was pretty well informed and shared his knowledge. The trip is long but we expected that and it would be nice t have more time at the Canyon, but the tip is long enough. We encountered rain, but the weather changes fast and we were lucky enough to see a double rainbow over the canyon. The lunch is very simple, but we didn't go for the food, we went to see the GC ad we enjoyed it very much. We were center Strip and the driver was good at getting people back fast. We were at our Hotel at 11 pm and the first strip stop was 10:35 pm. Very rnjoyable view.

This is a long day but it worth the visit. Unfortunately it was raining when we arrived at the Grand Canyon so the visibility was poor. Would be amazing though if the weather was good. The only disappointment on the day was the disrespectful passengers who were never back to the coach on time which reduced the time at the next stop. There's alway 1 or 2 in each group, isn't there?
