USD $198.99

Grand Canyon West Rim Van Day Trip with Optional Skywalk, Helicopter and Boat Ride

Las Vegas, United States of America

Take a small group tour to the Grand Canyon West Rim by minivan from Las Vegas for a more personalised visit. You have the option of taking a stroll on the Grand Canyon Skywalk at Eagle Point for unbeatable 360-degree views, plus use of the shuttle to Guano Point and the visitors center.

The three-hour drive to the West Rim by minivan takes you through historic Boulder City and across Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and Fortification Hill. You'll enjoy a 10-minute photo stop at Hoover Dam before continuing through the Black Canyon and Mojave Desert to the base of Diamond Bar Road.

You'll enter the heart of Indian Country as you wind your way through one of North America's oldest and largest Joshua tree forests before stopping at Grand Canyon West Airport for a snack or souvenir. Then, hop onboard the Hualapai shuttle for a scenic tour along the canyon rim.

Next stop is Guano Point for your buffet lunch, accompanied by amazing panoramic views of the Colorado River. After lunch and sightseeing, hop back on the shuttle for a trip to the Hualapai Ranch, where you'll see the Wild West Show and maybe enjoy an optional horse ride.

On your homeward journey you'll make a quick stop at a chocolate factory in Dolan Springs, where you can perhaps cool down with some homemade ice cream, before returning to Las Vegas.

Skywalk Upgrade Option:

Enjoy a stop at Eagle Point, the location of the Grand Canyon Skywalk, for your once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to walk over the edge of the Grand Canyon! Stroll along the glass bridge, 4,000 feet (1,200 meters) above the Colorado River.

Ultimate Adventure Option:

Enjoy a stop at Eagle Point for the Grand Canyon Skywalk, before climbing onboard a helicopter for the 4,000-foot descent into the Grand Canyon! Once on the floor of the canyon, enjoy the canyon's beautiful scenery on a boat ride on the Colorado River, before flying back up to the rim.

The day started off pretty bad only because the battery in the van did not work and we had to wait for another one. It was only a group of 4 with the tour guide and to make up for time lost he took us to the "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign and took us through a tour of an old town a few miles from Vegas. Our Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable on history, geography to say the most.. . .unfortunately, the rain made it impossible to finish the tour of the canyon. Would love to visit again with the same tour guide. Ask for "76" aka Harold!

This trip is, essentially, the transport to/from the Canyon West rim and the entrance fee. In that respect everything was fine. Our driver, David, was a lovely, personable and informative guy. I would definitely book another trip through Viator but if going to the Canyon, would definitely book the helicopter ride as well.

I bought a tour that is going to pick up us at 8:30 AM that tour does not exists in winter. You offer me the tour with a van with few people. I have to take a big bus tour and they pick up us at the hotel at 6:30 AM. The Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam was a great adventure.

Beautiful time to visit the Grand Canyon, October. Was a little upset that the stop to the Hoover Dam was eliminated due to the new bridge. Other wise a must do when in Vegas. This is my 2nd trip to the West Rim. The Sky Walk is pretty amazing on a good clear day.

Good over all trip. Would have preferred more time at the top of the canyon, too much time spent below. Skywalk was really fun. However you have to spend time waiting in line for the Skywalk which wasn't the best as you didn't have much time up there!

Would have been nice to know Hoover Dam was not included ahead of time. Also description says 3 hours free time at the canyon. We have 45 minuites; not enough time. Never stopped at Ethel M's. Advertised 9:30 am pickup and was told not this time of year which was known when I booked. Says 11 hour duration. Picked up at 7:30 and back to hotel at 4. Instead of getting all the free time advertised, which should have been more since we missed the dam and Ethel M's. Our tour ended early and we missed most of Guano Point.

The tour is awesome! Fortunatelly I didn't have problems with our transportation smelling bad as I read previously in others reviews. Our guide was awesome, he took a lot of pictures of us, he gave us lots of tips and said very interesting things about the places we visited. The only problem I have, was with the buffet meal served, my friends and I got sick with it and I recommend you stay away from it if you are not used to that kind of food/spice. As there aren't another options inside the reserve, you should bring your own food. Another tip: I just discovered it after my tour, but if you book it directly with the company who provides the tour, you can save a significant amount of money.

We had a fantastic day, and this was really enhanced by our fellow travellers. We were in the van with just one other couple from Arkansas- they were so friendly and chatty and we learnt so much from them! Our driver was very quiet- driving in silence all the way and we were all very worried about him on the drive back. He was almost asleep at the wheel and swerved right across the road and onto the hard shoulder lots of times. We kept asking him if he was alright and trying to keep him awake!

Our tour guide "John" was awesome. We took a private tour that consisted about 9 people 5 of which were VERY difficult. But he handled everything superbly. Awesome dude. You should give him a raise... I'd definitely use your company again...

Enjoyed the trip but it was very rushed at the end. Helicopter bit took longer than it should so we only had time to eat lunch at Guano Point and then had to catch the bus back. Would have liked longer at Eagle Point, didn't have time to wait for our photos, and more time at Guano Point. Perhaps the trip could be extended by a couple of hours so that there is enough time to do and see everything.

They charged my credit card for the trip we booked with the extra Skywalk tickets we booked for the Grand Canyon and when we got there, we did not have tickets and then had to buy them again. I have tried calling the specific tour company we went through to refund me the money but I am having a terrible time with it and I have yet to receive the money that is owed to me.

Out of all the places I have been and the tours I have been on nothing compares to this. This was the highlight of my whole trip. You would be silly not to do this. Do yourself a favor and do the helicopter ride. It was truly magical beyond anything else. The service was above and beyond words. Thank you for making this a special memory in my heart.

Our tour guide was the bomb! He was very knowledgable about Vegas history, the Hoover Dam, and also the Grand Canyon. It is worth the extra cost to ride horseback to the rim.

We enjoyed the day and the scenery was breathtaking. However, I was disappointed in the driver we had. He drove like a race car driver, and other people we met at the different stops commented on the speed of the white van and how it was passing everyone. He also didn't provide that much info about the area; basically just a little at the beginning of the trip. I usually find that when I take a small tour like this the driver/escort is very informative and keeps the group talking. This one was more interested in singing along to the music he played.

We did not enjoy our day; we were up so early only to sit around and wait to leave the tour office. Then we felt rushed to get on the Skywalk, which was a cash grab, and you can't take your camera out there, so you're forced to get their picture. Good food and amazing views, but this company could do better.

I thought about flying but the van trip was better as you get to see and experience the countryside up close and personal which made the trip for me. The driver was very knowledgeable and did not hurry us during the whole day.

Tour guide was fine. Everything handled pretty well. The West Rim, though, isn't really 'ready for prime time'. The unpaved roads and bare essentials make it feel undone versus rustic.

In hindsight, it would have been better to take the flight package with this trip rather than the very lengthy and uncomfortable van tour. I had booked a Luxury SUV tour, but was put on a van. The Skywalk was good and the scenery spectacular, but the ranch was not worth the time we spent there. Once again I would recommend taking the flight rather than the van, which would give you more time to do other things.

The Grand Canyon is beautiful and the Hoover Dam is amazing, but the rest of the trip was a disaster. Because of the low number of attendees, we were upgraded to a "luxury van". The van was dirty and smelled bad, and we were packed in shoulder to shoulder. There was a 14-mile stretch that was not paved and very rocky, and the driver turned the air-conditioning off because the vents were blowing in dust. The temperature was 117 degrees. The chocolate factory tour was actually a single wide trailer on the side of the road in the desert. There was no Wild West show or homemade ice cream. There were two choices for lunch. The first site only had outdoor seating, so we were taken on a school bus to the other location. When we walked into the dining hall, we discovered that the A/C was not working, and the back doors were open for ventilation. The wagon ride lasted about 10 minutes and did not go into the canyon as described. The "luxury van" overheated on the return trip, while stuck in traffic at the Hoover Dam, so the driver again turned the air-conditioner off. We were all irritable, nauseated, and heat-fatigued when we finally returned to our hotel.

The tour was in a minivan, not a spacious bus. The Grand Canyon was very interesting. A lot of time was spent waiting to get from one location to the next. Many transfers are needed for this tour - a van from the hotel, a second van to the Grand Canyon base, a bus to the Grand Canyon and lunch and then back, and a van again back to the hotel.
