From Hotel to the airport takes 1.5 hours! But actually it's really nearby...the tour is amazing. But hoped to be a bit deeper into the canyon. The staff is really helpful and care taking.

I have been saying I was going to do a helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon ever since my first trip to Vegas. I kept putting it off and putting it off but finally pulled the trigger this time. I booked a "flight only" tour, but received a call the night before my flight letting me know I had been upgraded to land at the ranch and have lunch. I ended up doing the horseback riding as well. I guess my biggest question at the end of the day was "why did you wait so long"? A teriffic experience, professionals from the pickup at the hotel to dropping me off. Everyone was very friendly, the counter staff at the facility, the cowboys and everyone else at the ranch. The pilot was very knowledgeable and friendly as well. Just an overall fantastic experience. So glad I finally did it and would definitely do it again.

We were over the Grand Canyon for a short period of time. The pilot called our attention to things "right in front of the nose" and proceeded to fly over them. We did not have a glass bottom and missed seeing them. 6 passengers - 2 in front saw everything. Two in the back had windows and saw their side views. Don't know about the center guys in the back! (I was on the left window - back. (Didn't see the dam bridge, for instance.) We didn't go "beneath the rim, nor farther than any other tour of the canyon" as advertised! Weather was windy, but undetected by me as a passenger, tho we noted a distant dust devil and "dust" smog of sorts upon our return.

Having never seen the Grand Cayon this was a wonderful way to see it. We only wished the flight were longer. All of the staff at Heli USA and the Grand Cayon Ranch where professional and friendly. You only live once, it was worth the splurge!

Fabulous. We ended up taking the Ranch tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Flew into the Canyon - which was amazing then onto the Ranch to be met by real cowboys who put on a little show, we had a wagon ride around the estate then back to the ranch house for supper. Great day, highly recommend it. Pilot was so experienced and gave us a great commentary. Coming across the desert at night was quite an experience, then seeing the lights of Vegas just appear in front of us. Highly recommended

They didn't communicate my reservation to the operating company, so when I called to book hotel pickup, it was a complete surprise to the company that was actually flying me to the Canyon. The time I had booked was, consequently, sold out. They put us in a different time slot and gave a longer tour, so at least they made good on their mistake. Pretty amateur showing though.

I was mysteriously 'upgraded' from a 'Grand Canyon West Rim VIP Helicopter Tour from Las Vegas to a 'Ranch Tour' without my knowledge or consent. The first I knew about it was when we landed at the ranch! Instead of a 90 minute flight - confirmed the day before to take approx 4 hours by the provider - the whole trip door to door took a whopping 7 hours out of my day. The 'ranch tour' was awful which is exactly why I didn't book it. Not prepared to pay additional charges for activities including horseback riding I was ignored by staff and unable to leave. Staff failed to answer reasonable questions regarding the timing of the end of the tour, so I was left with no option but to sit and wait. As a woman traveling alone with no mobile reception to contact loved ones it was a very frustrating and worrying experience. My only solace was the numerous other customers who had also been taken to the ranch without their knowledge or consent. VIP tour? Don't make me laugh. Taking customers to an isolated ranch to pay additional activity charges and inflated refreshment charges - not really VIP treatment. Interesting to read other tour reviews confirming mysterious 'upgrades'. I strongly recommend avoiding this tour provider?

Not at all as booked. booking described landing in Canyon for short while. Pilot when questioned, stated company had not landed in Canyon for 2 years, otherwise we would not have booked with Viator - will NOT do so again.

Rang up the day before we were to fly as advised to find out that we were upgraded FOC to the Ranch flight but leaving at 5.15am instead of 8.30am. Said I did not want to upgrade but was given the impression that this was the only flight on offer. Decided to go as it was too late to arrange an alternative. Picked up at 5.15am on time but waited for 30minutes before leaving as a problem with people who had booked flights but were not on the pick up list.They were going to ask us to take a later flight but I said no!! We arrived at the airport and got taken to our helicopter where we boarded and waited to take off only to be told to get back out as there was a fault with the communications. This was fixed by a technician and we boarded again only for the engine to be shut down again as there was still a problem. Now it became clear that they had to use an alternative helicopter and all pre flight checks had to be done so we went back to the flight office to wait. Eventually at 8.30am we took off on our tour, I enjoyed the flight and the pilot was very good. We landed at the " ranch " for the upgrade but I would have paid not to have landed as it was a poor excuse to take money off you for a horse or waggon ride with a poor breakfast literally thrown in.

after arriving to the office we were told there was a problem with the microphone and thus had to be cancelled as there was not another helicopter, there seemed to be a number of people whos trip had been cancelled and then rescheduled for another time. if you dont mind waiting around do it!! in the end we got upgraded and was totally a 'wow' experience...

on arrival at the airport everybody on our helicopter was told that we were being "upgraded"to adifferent tour which we didnt have time for and none of the 6 people wanted. There was no extra charge for this but we could pay extra for a wagon ride (as this upgrade involved landing at a ranch for a small lunch). This ride cost $35 and was a waste of money. Our main complaint was that what was meant to be a three and a half hour trip took nearly 7 hours and at no time did anybody come to tell us why we waited so long to leave for the grand canyon (over 1 hour late),and 2 hours waiting for helicopter back! Also we have received no explanation or apology.

Amazing. The only way to truly see the canyon. Picked up on time and was upgraded to the ranch tour which was totally worth it (we didn't do the horse riding) with breakfast. Pilot Court was informative and our family had a wonderful time.

Dont waste time thinking about it . Just book it! Fantastic trip you will not regret or forget. Pilot gave a great commentary throughout and the early rise for 7am flight was soon forgotten

The pilot spent a lot of time explaining the sites along the trip, I can feel that he did try his best even though the tour group that day was a bit quiet... The trip will be much better if they allow the tour trip to stay in the base of the Canyon for a while and have a cup of tea / snack etc...

Thank You to Grand Canyon West Rim for a fabulous outing. This was a great trip to a mountain ranch with a brief stopover due to snow. Not a big deal for us Canadians! A great meal at the ranch, more snow for a snowman, then off over the Grand Canyon when the weather cleared. Everyone at the tour office, our pilot Jim, and at the Ranch were absolutely fabulous.
