Red Rock Canyon Tour

Las Vegas, United States of America

While you're in Las Vegas, take a visit to Red Rock Canyon, one of the Mojave Desert's most beautiful attractions. Choose a leisurely six-hour tour, or go for the four-hour afternoon express option if your time in Las Vegas is limited.

Red Rock Canyon Tour (six hours)
Begin your tour at the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area with a leisurely 13-mile (21-kilometer) scenic loop. Stops along the way include the colorful sandstone Calico Hills, limestone Indian roasting pits and the petroglyphs at Willow Springs. The tour continues with a visit to Spring Mountain State Park, a ranch once owned by eccentric millionaire Howard Hughes.

Red Rock Express Tour (four hours)

The afternoon express tour begins with custom van transportation from your hotel to the spectacular Red Rock Canyon, where you will hear about past explorers and the canyon's unique geography and wildlife. Next, you'll take a smooth ride around the scenic loop.

I particularly enjoyed all the statistical information conveyed to us by our guide... the whens the wheres, the whos and how many. Arniello was observant of our needs and our tolerance for distance etc. My only complaint is about the way the tour is set up... touring the Willow Springs Ranch house (not property... that was interesting) was a waste of time. If one is interested in seeing the natural attributes and the early history of the area, then a house built in the 50's by a third rate movie star doesn't have much value. Make it a four hour tour and skip the house segment.

Our tour guide, Carlos, was fantastic. He had so much to share from his personal experiences climbing and hiking in the canyon. It was well worth the cost, I would recommend this tour to everyone visiting the Las Vegas area.

It was a beautiful place to see. The tour guide was entertaining, very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. Great little lunch which was filling too. If you are ever looking for something to do other than gambling, I would definitely recommend you go on this tour. You get to see a lot and it doesn't take up the whole at. Very enjoyable.

Well worth taking the 6 hr trip off the strip, out of town and, into the Mojave desert to view some stunning scenery, wildlife and native culture / plants. Our guide was accommodating and knowledgeable, and it's something I will do every time I visit Vegas in future.

The tour guide, Carlo, was great--very knowledgeable and friendly. It was a beautiful day--we enjoyed the visitor center, the canyon, the state park/ranch, and the opportunity for a picnic in the sun. Please ditch the high fat chips and cookies in favor or fat-free treats, though. I tossed mine and felt guilty about the waste.

it was a fun day, the guide was knowledgable, helpful, and funny. I finally was able to get a picture of the las vegas sign. The Spring Mountain ranch was awesome, though places to sit would have been nice. The weather was cold and damp, but a good time was had by all.

We enjoyed this short tour to Red Rock Canyon. The local company was Casino Tour and Travel. They were considerate enough to pick us up at an alternate location with just a few minutes notice when we informed them that we were running late. The tour guide Lud gave us some good insight on the history of the canyon and the local vegetation. The views along the scenic loop are spectacular. It was quite cold but the snow covered mountain tops made for some excellent pictures. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of the Strip.

If you're looking for a magnificent tour, full of awe and wonder, this is it...the incredible rock formations and colors are indescribable. We had a very small group so it almost became like a private tour. Our guide Carlos has years of experience of the area (says he visits with his family quite often) and a vast knowledge of the landscape If you're looking for peace, quite and serenity from the Vegas action, this is it.

Guide was very knowledgeable and his comments interesting. He went out of his way to make the tour good. When I asked him if he was going to take us to the Welcome to Las Vegas sign, he said no. However, there was a couple of minutes before he had to pick up the next group so he not only took us to the sign, but took a picture of us in front of it. Very thoughtful.

Great driver who really knew his stuff. Stopped several times along the scenic loop to point out the ground squirrels and different plants that the native americans used to eat._br/_ Only 5 on the trip so plenty of time to spend at the stops._br/_ Would suggest however spending more than 30 mins at the visitor centre, enough there for at least an hour. Also the trip took about 5 not 6 hrs, still good value though._br/_ Great packed lunch of freshly made sandwich, back of crisps (Chips to those in the US) and a bag of mini cookies

I wish we could have taken a hike or something, it was just stops at different points to take pictures. Which is disappointing because the landscape is so beautiful! The ranch isn't what I expected either, just an old house with historical books/images. _br/_ The tour guide was great, it was just the agenda during the trip that I wasn't thrilled about - most of the time on a bus.

The guide was friendly and humorous and kept the party well informed. The visit to the canyon was excellent. However, in our opinion, more time should have been given to the excellent visitor facility for Red Rock Canyon and the canyon itself, and far less to the ranch. In reality, lunch was not needed on this trip and the lunch break just unnecessarily extended the tour and dragged it out that little bit longer than needed. But in terms of the canyon, very much worth seeing.

Awesome Trip!!! Tour Guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Would recommend doing the 6 hour tour vice the 4 hours tour because of the weather. We only had 10 people in our group so it was easy to get on and off at each stop and didn't take long at all.

The tour guide was entertaining and very informative, I learned alot about the flora and fauna of the region. Beautiful views. I wish I was able to dip into a spring or climb a rock, but that wouldn't fit into the time frame of the tour~!

I thought that it was expensive. The lunch could have been and we should of had a choice. We spent too long at each stop as there wasn't t much to see and we couldn't walk on any of the trails. Especially the lunch stop was way too long. There was nothing to see there and we didn't need that much time to eat. It was a waste of time. I wish that we were able to walk through some of the trails. The scenery was pretty though.
