During your stay in Lisbon, take an afternoon tour to the town of Fátima, one of the most important places of pilgrimage in the Catholic world. With your guide, visit the sites where the Virgin Mary was said to have appeared in 1917 and learn about this incredibly spiritual place. Meet your guide in central Lisbon or enjoy pickup from your Lisbon hotel, and then relax on the comfortable coach drive to Fátima. This once-sleepy rural village became an important Catholic pilgrimage site in 1917, when three local children claimed to have seen an apparition of the Virgin Mary, also known as Our Lady of Fátima.

With your guide, visit Our Lady of Fátima Sanctuary (Nossa Senhora de Fátima Santuario), a place of worship visited each year by more than four million pilgrims who travel to pay their respects and worship at the shrine. See the Chapel of Apparitions, the place where the Virgin Mary appeared, and see the tombstones of the two of the three shepherd kids who reported the apparition.

You'll have free time to explore the site at your own pace, enjoy some quiet time on your own and attend mass, if you wish.

Continue your tour to Aljustrel, where the three shepherd children -- Jacinta, Francisco and Lucia -- were born; then head to Valinhos, where Our Lady of Fátima appeared a fourth time in the same year.

Your final stop is Loca do Anjo, where children were visited by the Virgin Mary on two other occasions. Finally, relax in your coach and admire views of the Portuguese countryside on the drive back to Lisbon.

We called the local agent to book the pick up for the tour. Once we we're in a hotel closed to one of the pick up hotels, we arranged to meet at a hotel 20 meters from our hotel. In the time we settled , we we're in front of the hotel waiting. One minibus with no identification came (among all the other cars and etc) and the guide got into the hotel looking for me in the reception. Once they didn'f find me as a guest (and Of course I wasn't) they run away. When I realised the bus could be the one, I went to talk to them and the guide and the driver didn't pay attention to me. I had to call the local agent again e had to wait for one hour and half for them to pick me up again. The rest of the trip was fine, although the guide has been very rude with some americans that we're in the tour because she refused to drop them in their hotel , that was up one hill. Once you pick up in the Hotel, you should drop them to the same point._br/_ I didn't like the way she talked to them.

Called and confirmed before 24 hours prior to tour as directed on voucher. We were told to be at a hotel that was 'next door' to our hotel about 45 mins before the scheduled start. After arriving at the appointed hotel which was really about two blocks away, the hotel concierge knew nothing about that tour company. We waited around outside for about 10 mins and they arrived and took us to meet the tour bus at another venue picking up others along the way for various tours._br/_ It was good to have direct transport to the Shrine without having to figure out public transport on our own. The descriptions along the way was done in so many languages that I sometimes missed the English version. Good that there wasn't too much commentary. Stopped at the factory with some time to make purchases. At the shrine we had enough time to walk around and there were two services in progress. Return to the pick up point was drawn out with everyone to be dropped off. If you are looking for direct transport to and from Fatima without much more expectations, then this is for you.

The tour guide was ok. She spoke too loud so it was difficult to understand her and after little explanation we were left to roam the Fatima city on our own. Overall it was good that we were taken and returned with some explanation however we have I been in better tours.

As far as the tour goes, it was good and even though we had concerns that we were only given an hour and 15 minutes at the Sanctuary, it was actually enough.

Basically, this turned out to be nothing more than transportation to and from Fatima. Although the guide provided some commentary as we drove along, there is not much to see between Lisbon and Fatima. Once we got to Fatima, we were on our own -- no guided tour at all at the site. At more than 50 euros per person, this was a pretty expensive bus ride.

We are so happy to have visited Fatima and was able to get our religious items blessed by the officiating priest. We talked to him after the mass. So blessed to have come from the Philippines to see the place. Great tour!

We enjoyed the tour and the and guide was quite knowledgeable but we did not expect that the tour information would be conveyed in 3 different languages. It would be useful if this was stated in the promotional material as we expected an English tour. Also, it would be useful if the guide accompanied the tour party around the Fatima sanctuary instead of leaving the party to find out things for themselves. After all the visit to Fatima was the highlight of the tour and, perhaps, it would have made the tour more informative if the guide had accompanied the party around the sanctuary.

It would be much better if the tour guide showed us around the basilica, the church. We were not able to reach the tombs because we do not know where to go. The group was scattered and didn't know where to go or what to see. Especially for me, the tombs were what I really wanted to see and reach. Anyway, there is always a second time. Thanks a lot, arrangement was fantastic!

The Fatima tour was very enjoyable. The guide was excellent, he explained the sights and the story of Fatima very well, and with appropriate respect for the subject. My only criticism of the trip was the incorrect information in relation to the hotel pick-up. Overall, I would recommend the tour to Fatima.

This was a heartwarming experience. Very interesting and full of history. Our tour guide was fantastic! She shared details of each visiting site. She gave us an understanding of what Fatima is all about. We both greatly appreciate the knowledge she shared. One person insisted that our guide speak English only. The guide politely explained that she must speak in the languages everyone understands. Congratulations to her for staying calm and professional.
