Lisbon Super Saver: Lisbon Sightseeing Tour and Sintra, Cascais and Estoril Coast Day Trip

Lisbon, Portugal

Combine a morning sightseeing tour of Lisbon with an afternoon exploring the Estoril Coast, Cascais and the romantic mountainous region of Sintra. If you are short on time or this is your first visit to Lisbon, this tour is a great way to get an overview of the area, and it includes a wine tasting! In Lisbon, see the charming Alfama quarter, Belém Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries and the World Heritage Sites of Jerónimos Monastery and Pena Palace. Then take in views of the Atlantic Ocean (including Hell's Mouth cliff) as you drive along the Estoril Coast and through Cascais, and discover the beauty of Sintra and Colares while you learn interesting facts from your guide.

Get comfortable on an air-conditioned coach and enjoy a sightseeing tour of Lisbon, the first part of your full-day Lisbon combination tour. Relax on the drive down Liberty Avenue to Rossio, in the heart of the city, and visit Alfama, Lisbon's oldest and picturesque quarter. Stop here for a wine tasting at a local shop.

Continue along the Tagus River to Praça do Comércio, where a sculpture of King José I on a bronze horse stands tall. Learn interesting facts about Lisbon from your guide as you take in views of the Tagus River and iconic Lisbon landmarks such as Belém Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries.

Next, visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Jerónimos Monastery, as well as the Coach Museum, which houses a large collection of opulent coaches built for the aristocracy, dating back to the 17th century. (Please note: The Jerónimos Monastery and the Coach Museum are closed on Mondays; alternatively, you will visit the neoclassical Palácio Nacional da Ajuda (Ajuda Palace) or the Casa-Museu Medeiros e Almeida, which showcases an important art collection by Portuguese artist António de Medeiros e Almeida.)

Enjoy some free time for lunch (own expense) at a local restaurant or cafe, then get ready for an unforgettable afternoon trip on Portugal's beautiful coast!

Head first to Sintra to visit Pena Palace (Palácio Nacional da Pena), a beautiful Romantic-era castle located on top of a hill, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Then head into town, where you'll have free time to explore Sintra on your own.

Continue your tour to Colares, a cute town famous for its local wine. Enjoy a short walking tour with your guide.

Next, take in views of the Portuguese countryside from your coach on the drive to Cascais Bay and Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point in Europe, on the Estoril Coast. Enjoy a dramatic photo opportunity at Hell's Mouth cliff (Boca do Inferno), and see Guincho Beach, famous among surfers, before you return to Lisbon.

Great tour and they picked us up at our hotel and dropped us off there also. Good narration by guide.

I booked this tour for myself and a friend visiting from the US. How disappointed we were. The morning tour was in 3 languages, and ended rather abruptley at 12:30pm, when we were left for two hours before joining a new tour with new guide and driver. After a roundabout drive we finally arrived in Sintra before Cascais, Estoril, Cabo as stated in the Itinerary. We went to a different palace as was stated which was a disappointment, and then we were informed that we would be picked up at 4:45pm for the rest of the tour. The afternoon tour was in 4 languages, and we had to listen very carefully to catch the short English version. As we had to be back at our hotel for a special dinner, we had to incur the cost of 35 Euros to take a taxi back to Lisbon, as no way would we have been back between 5-6pm as again stated in the itinerary. The whole day was very badly disorganised, and it should be made very clear that the tour is in two parts. We would have much preferred the whole day Sintra tour had we known. Having taken many city tours in other countries this is the first one I have not enjoyed.

The tour was enjoyable and the tour guide was very accommodating, we had a taste of the Estoril area and casino which we could have missed if not for the guide.

The Lisbon City tour was great and brought us through all the major attractions in the Belem district. The afternoon was absolutely unforgetable! Sintra is gorgeous! And our guide was very loveable!

Morning tour was okay. They combined us with local tourist. The guide went to more detail commentary in Portuguese than English. The tour ended at 12:30 so there were 2 hours break for me to return to the pickup point at Marquees Pombal. Afternoon Sintra Tour did not go to Pena Castle as advertised, instead we went to Royal Castle/national castle which was inferior in comparison to the architecture at Pena and definitely what I wasn't signing up for. The guide Dora was however better than the morning one as she was more articulate and engaging and spent time in explaining in English. There are definitely room for improvement.

Was a good experience. But we should have got more time at Cabo Da Roca (where we only got 20 mins) as compared to Sintra (where we got more than 90 minutes).

In general is a good trip and I recommend it. Though I have the following comments: our hotel Tivoli was right next door to terminal, but pick up time was arranged an HOUR earlier and we traveled for 1 hour picking up other guests and then ended up in 1 minute walk away from the terminal!! what a pleseant suprise! Instead of coach museum I would rather spend more time to see the church better. In the second part of the trip, again I would prefer to see Pena Palace, rather the palace we were shown.

Tour is good but to fast, since we do Lisbon (Including Belem) in the morning and then Sintra in the afternoon. I would have liked more time with the Lisbon city tour to visit more monuments.. Also, Viator is offering the tour in French or in English. I chose french but it is not available in french. To bad because it put down my expectations and my pleasure.

The trip was good, our multilingual tour guide was terrific. And both my daughter and I enjoyed most part of it. The only pity was that we should had our lunch in Sintra Instead of downtown Lisbon. And the very annoying part of this trip was our non-stop call made to the numbers given in the voucher was never answered.

This was the tour I purchased and expected to go on... however the itinerary we actually went on was very different. The only place we went that was advertised was the Palacio da Pena. It was also to be an English speaking tour and English was the third language. Very disappointed.

The tour did not start well for me. I was asked to show up at the Lisbon port while the tour actually started from Pombal Plaza. I had to spend more than 40 euros in a taxi trying to chase the tour bus. I joined the tour more than one hour late. I found the tour to be very informative. Please make sure that your sub-contractor gives you the correct information.

There is only a short break between the two bus tours with no lunch provided. The location of the bus stop is not close to many fast food vendors. It would be better to either provide lunch with a higher fee or advise customers to pack lunch if they are not interested in going to the only one and over crowded restaurant near the bus stop on their own.

Be prepared for a tour in 3-4 languages. Makes it kind of difficult to hear...since others talk through the English portion. Tour was longer than stated on the website. All in all, a great way to get acquainted with Lisbon and see the Palace at Sintra. They pack a lot in one day!

This was actually two 12 day trips so there was a little misadvertising. HOWEVER, you see a good cross-section of Lisbon which might be worth it if you're in a hurry - if you have the time take the hop-on off instead and save a lot of euros! Similarly, just take the 12 day Sintra tour it is comprehensive and you get to experience a beautiful place. Maybe if they had included lunch for the 80 euros, it might have been worth it.

I did a similar Lisbon tour a few years ago that was much much better. This tour should have gone to the castle, should have stopped at the Monument to the Discoverers instead of pointing it out, and should have spent more time in Alfama. Sintra part of the tour was better.

I thought this tour was a really great way to see Lisbon in a short amount of time. Sintra was the highlight of my trip, and Viator made it easy and time efficient to take a trip there. My only complaint would be that the tour was given in two languages, which often made certain activities last longer than they should have, but this is a minor complaint and is to be expected on an international tour such as this.

Because of a marathon we could have not visited all the site. The tour itsself is good. I had this tour combined with Sintra but did not know their were to seperate tour. So I had to wait 2 hour and a half til the next one to begin.

The city tour is by bus, but a nice overview. We had done most of it ourselves the previous days. You will walk a little bit, especially in Belem and Alfama which was nice. We opted out of the Sintra part of the trip so can't comment on it - we were too tired after almost a month of travelling and needed the sleep.

If you want to take a lot of pictures of Lisbon, this is not the tour to take as you don't get near enough photo stops. The royal coach museum is kind of a waste of time I would have liked skipping it and having more photo stops at other places. But the overall trip itself was very good and there was a little bit of time to explore Sintra after the formal tour. The brochure made it sound like one continuous tour when in reality the Lisbon portion ended at lunch time and the afternoon didn't start until about 2 pm. Hint: Get off the bus at the main square. You'll have much better dining options and it's just a short cab or long walk back to the meeting spot for the afternoon portion of the tour.

This tour had it all. There's great sightseeing in Lisbon. The coast was fabulous, and Sintra was great! We could've used some more time in Sintra, though! We were lucky enough to have a great guide as well.

The buses were clean and comfortable. The tour guides were excellent and knowledgeable. The locations were visited were fascinating and wonderful. The only criticism I have is that there was not enough time to do it all in one day, but I highly recommend these tours.

Main problem of this tour is that it is conducted in 4 languages by the same guide so there is quite a waste of time. Lisbon is an amazing city. The second part was beautiful, highly recommended, if you have time take the Sintra full day tour.
